Distance is overrated. According to Dan Marino, Mark Duper (a wide receiver) through it farther than him -- some 80 yards or more.

Now, it's clear Beck has arm strength. He threw it 61.1mph at the combine, which was better than all but one (including Troy Smith) in 2006 and better than Cutler the previous year. He just choose to throw it with more touch with BYU because his receivers couldn't handle the heat. However, in the NFL, they can, so he'll have to bring that part of his game back.
