This is the guy McCain once was: very gracious and willing to give credit where credit is due. I hope for the country's sake that now that the campaign is over, McCain will go back to his true independent ways and work with everyone. He can still have a huge impact in the Senate if he wants to and hopefully revert back to the guy many Democrats and Independents respected.

Victory speeches do not contain boos, consessiuon ones do. Look up the many times NOBAma had to concede to Hillary..lotsa boos. But John McCain is such a classs act, he would not allow it. For those of us who feel we have had to watch the BETTER amn conceed to the LESSSER man, this is a hard day. but that will never change the fact that John McCain is a hero of heros and a man we love and admire. Sadly we cannot say that about the new electee. His record and past speak for themselves. Sad 4 USA.

Maybe they will finally with this defeat begin to get their house back in order and seek new leadership and return to the principles that made the party great. Republicans did not have great success throughout history because they tried to emulate their Democratic rivals. They did so with principle and leadership. Actually after Clinton conceded to Obama I looked into McCain's platforms because I was curious, and angry Hillary lost... as you are now about McCain losing... But the truth is McCain made a fatal misstep choosing Sarah Palin, and it was his undoing. A lot of people didn't vote for McCain because of that, and also because of his smear tactics. Nobody likes people who slander other people.
