All cellos are fretless...

When I started I used white tape to mark the fonger placements to get used to it, but fretted cellos are extremely rare to come by.

Buy a Yamaha.İf you could pay a little more check Jensen.I would stay away from cheap chinese ones. Just wait for them to develop more.İ don't like carbon bows to much they feel a little stiff on the tip for my taste but it is your call.

@marycranberry It's called (Photoshop, Filmographic effects), She isnt actually standing in the middle of a desert, and yes, you can stand up playing the cello. You can stand or sit for any basic string instrument except the double bass.

well it's not wireless nor it's the "how ur playing in the dessert" it's a video clip it's obvious that there's few bow mistakes in the timing, since the video is high resolution! hehe..but it's normal ! it happens.

@Cellolife97 Thanks so much! You can use a normal bow. I have a carbon fibre one as well as a wooden one and they are both fine. Regarding e-cello brands, I love my Yamaha Cello.

@cellogirlSMILE Hello! Thanks for your feedback! I started on the Classical cello, which is the best route, I think. I did a music degree and moved to electric about ten years ago. It's important to develop a good technique on the Classical instrument first so keep practising! The elec cello has opened so many doors for me - go for it!

Hi thanks for your comment. I agree about the 'bow over fingerboard' comment. It was not easy standing on a dune in the drizzling rain and I confess my technique suffered. Here's my new loop song (bow under control in this one!)

I dig the song, could've used a bit more cello involvement. It was kind of sparse for my taste. She plays well, but bows over the fingerboard more than my teacher would allow. I'm an electric cello player too, so I know it's a bit odd playing on your feet. She is also better looking than me... Nice video overall.
