There monitors not hearing protection. Eric Johnson does this also along with a lot of drummers. They make ear plug filters to cut down db and slp however they dont make headphones for this he wouldn't be able to hear ANYTHING.

Buckethead is my fav guitarist at the moment..hes the bomb..i cant understand tho how some people say that buckethead,gilbert,bumblefoot,satch,vai,evh are better than hendrix? rubbish..technique certainly..better..no.cos all i gotta do is look up {band of gypsys}machine gun at the filmore east..a performance of nearly 40 years ago..and i can hear and see for myself youre talking shit.

im kind of tired of hearing a bunch of people whine about how they think some mainstream guitarist from the 70's was so much better than so and so...we get it, your head is stuck in the past, let it go. music has evolved a lot since then, so whenever you're ready to join us in reality, come on over. "feeling" and "soul" are subjective. you listen to jimi and hear something special, whilst i hear jimi, and hear a big mess of awful sounding crap...you get my point.

I agree to a certain extent...Yes he was out of tune, and yes he wasn't very technical...But look what he did for Rock music, he changed it forever. But yer, people need to let go and realise that there is alot more guitarists who are alot better. But still, respect Hendrix!

Buckethead is shit. He plays fast but it sounds like someone is crushing ice. He has no melody and his solos dont serve the song at all. Alexi Laiho or Paul Gilbert or Steve Vai on the other hand kick ass
