  • People talk about ‘throwing a punch’, and when you see Rocky fight you really understand what that means. Before he got into boxing he was an excellent baseball pitcher and those throwing muscles are clearly used in his punching technique.

  • thank you for not adding background music or any sound effects!

  • i would just like to point out to people that if you are struggling to get an idea of the size of rocco try pulling that arm tensing pose in the mirror and use the size of your head as a guide, then compare marciano's head in proportion to the rest of him, especially his shoulders. the guy may have only been somewhere in the region of 5'10" but he was very athletically built, especially his shoulders and lats

  • i love rocky cause he wasnt that talented at all he wasnt fast or slick or that fundamentally sound nor did he have any balance or reflexes but his will tenacity courage and work ethic made him not just a good fighter but one of the greatest of all time and that is simply amazing

  • he looks like a lean real athlete here, not a juiced up roid monster.it shard to believe this guy was perhaps the greatest of all HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS,he looks so small. However it is true and he was a mighty fighter indeed.

  • that medicine ball exercise looks like a great way to get your core stronger and faster, especially for hooks and uppercuts

  • one of the greatest punchers

  • "When I was 14 years old and listening to the radio and I heard the announcer, '.and still champion of the whole world, Rocky Marciano..' I knew I wanted to be champion someday. He was a big influence in the start of my career."

    -- Muhammad Ali

  • Look at the ease at which Rocky threw around that giant medicine ball at 0:54. He's just standing there similing like he's just having a catch. One thing about Rocky was that people did and still do seriously underestimate his strength. He was an absolute powerhouse and when he hit you, it felt like a sledgehammer. Jersey Joe learned this the hard way and commented on Rocky's amazing punching power after the fight.

  • @LedWhiskey69

not only Joe, also Ali commented on that fact:

Ali was often quoted as saying that he couldn't believe how strong, and how hard Rocky could hit. He said he could feel how great Marciano must have been just from being in the ring with him when he was 45 while filming the computer fight. Ali said that he couldn't even imagine what Rocky must have been like in his prime.

Also Frazier commented that he thinks both Joe Louis and Marciano could have taken Ali out.

  • @OropherThranduil Joe Frazier thinks my GRANDMOTHER could have taken Ali out. He was so blinded by his inferiority-complex with regards to Ali, that he just couldn't let it go. There is no way Louis would have beaten Ali. Too foot slow and just remember the hard time he had with Conn, who fought as a light-heavy when they met. Marciano was simply too short to beat Ali, and remember, he was floored by Archie Moore. The SECRET to Marciano's power was the leverage

  • @Soulblackman he got from having short arms, which allowed him to put more body weight behind them. Now, his short reach also would work against him against much taller and faster fighters, who could catch him often, and make him bleed like a pig. Great fighter, nether the less.

  • @Soulblackman You are bought by the Ali propaganda of course.- I have to tell you, that you are an ignorant.- First, Moore is the boxer with more KOs ever! And Ali lost to Frazier, who was inferior to Marciano.- Ali was Knocked down by an unkown english and he was saved by the bell!.- Ali lost to Ken Norton and Trevor Berbick, come on!!! Ali lost 5 times, and no more because in one time he was saved by the bell (a long recese) and in other he cheated (against Bonavena).- Now go, you got a lesson

  • @TheJuale Moore, to his DYING DAY, said that the ref, by shaking Marciano's arms harder than usual, did so to "shock" him back to consciousness. YES, the Moore who was KOed by Patterson AND Ali. Moore ALSO fought the bulk of his career as a LIGHT-HW! Berbick beat Ali, during his LAST fight, when he was DONE! What folks like YOU always "forget" is that if it were not for the layoff, neither Frazier, Norton OR Foreman, would have gone past 5 RDS. w/Ali. IF LaStarza gave Rocky a hard

  • @Soulblackman time in the 1st fight, Ali would have sliced Rocky to RIBBONS! Too fast in hand AND foot and too long of a reach. AGAIN, Rocky was GREAT, but against Ali? NAH! & as far as Frazier is concerned, he RARELY fought heavy hitters, and when he did, like w/ FOREMAN, LOOK what happened! Never fought Shavers, Lyle or Terrel. Yet, he MIGHT have surprised Rocky, because of his quickness.

  • @Soulblackman WROOONG AGAIN! If you have seen the fight, when rocky fell against Moore, he stood up almost inmediately (Archie used to talk a lot of bullsht, check what he said before the fight).- And another thing, LaStarza was no match to Rocky, when he fought him the first time, Rocky was temerous of his own power because he had almost killed Carmine Vingo in the previous fight, literally!!! (that powerfull was his power!).- Then they fought again in obviusly, LaStarza saw the stars!

  • @TheJuale I'm not talking about Vingo or YOUR perception of LaStarza I, which was a decision. Ali was miles ABOVE them both. He would DESTROY Marciano. AGAIN, he was a GREAT fighter, but I find that white people REFUSE to remove their idolatry of Rocky. AGAIN, Moore felt he was robbed, and maybe he was right. All I know is that this natural LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT knocked Rocky down, and might have been OUT, yet Patterson AND Ali KOed him. Go figure.

  • @Soulblackman How can you say Moore was robbed?!? He was crushed, he got nothing to do! And for the record, Henry Cooper Koed Ali! And he cheated in that fight! Henry Cooper for god sake! He was a bum, AND HE MUST WON! And for the record, Bonavena Knocked down Ali, and Ali cheated in that fight too! ROCKY IS THE GREATEST, HE NEVER CHEATED! You say Moore was robbed? He said "After a fight with Marciano, it felt like you had been beat all over the upper body with a blackjack or hit with rocks."

  • @TheJuale According to Foreman, Moore felt to his dying day, he was robbed by the ref, by his "shock" action. Whether or not Marciano hit as he did, this does NOT detract from what was PROBABLY the CORRECT sentiment by Moore. EARTH TO THEJULE, Bonovena was TKOed in 15, to which he said, "Ali will BEAT Frazier". The Henry Cooper fight is for the record, but after all is said and DONE, Ali would have made MINCED-MEAT out of Rocky! YOU don't know ENOUGH about Rocky's fights to ascertain

  • @Soulblackman with SURETY, whether he cheated or not. You select TWO of Ali's fights to a) make these claims b) somehow, project this to Rocky beating him.

  • @Soulblackman so they you have them, 2 fights where ALi cheated, he was a cheater, ask the english! Ask the argentinian people! Rocky never cheated, he won all the fights he fought! And he would kill Ali! You criticize the rock because the boxer with more KOs in history of box caught him with a punch (never compromised him); and you defend Ali who was Knocked Out by... Henry Cooper! Go and learn.- I have won this conversation by KO.- Period.-

  • @Soulblackman Archie said when asked by reporters which of Marciano's punches hurt him, said, "Man they all hurt." He also said, "After a fight with Marciano, it felt like you had been beat all over the upper body with a blackjack or hit with rocks." He never said he was cheated you lier! And Bonavena was Koed because Ali didn´t went to his corner, he CHEATED in that fight! He also cheated against Henry Cooper! Cooper Koed Ali, Angelo Dundee asked for a change of gloves between rounds!

  • @TheJuale I did NOT deny that statement, but MAINTAIN that Moore felt he has Rocky KOED, but for the intervention of the REF, which is an aspect you REFUSE to acknowledge. We ALREADY know that Rocky hit hard. Bonavena was knocked down 3X by Ali, and was LOSING anyway. Anyways, Ali BEAT Cooper in the rematch. Ali would DESTROY Rocky, PLAIN & SIMPLE!

  • I have a question, Mr.Rocky Marciano is truly one of my favorite boxers and I try follow some of his training footage. I noticed he wears a brand called Ben lee. Is that brand still around? Why isnt that brand more popular?

  • hey Ralphie, great video. Bless you and family and Rock. hey Ralphie did you autograoh the wall at Giordano's bakery in Newark, NJ? Think I saw your sig there :)

  • Greatest Boxer of all time? Maybe More Heart than any other Boxer in History. Most Definitely!

  • there never will be champion like him !

  • so true

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Great piece of footage!

Rocky was a baseballer in his prime and only started boxing in his late 20s (which is quite late as professial boxers go)

He didn't punch like an ordenary boxer either, he hammered his opponents with total force and he never seemed to get punched often.

    5/5

  • Thanx man, You're wright that Rock started boxing in his late 20's but he did not really play baseball in ''his prime'' His Prime was when he defeated those great names such as Walcott and Moore. Rocky wasn't very good in baseball neither. I red in a book called ''Undefeated''

  • @thecocoking

Erm no, he started Boxing when he was 21.

  • @thecocoking rocky got punched, a lot, check his split nose, but he could take it

  • Rocky Marciano was the most determined, relentless heavy-weight warrior in the history of the sport. He was a toy cannon and the only undefeated heavy-weight champion in boxing history.

  • you are a small pathetic fanatic.

i m a boxer in real life, heavyweight, marciano is a joke.

  • marcianos name is infamous with true greatness..i somehow doubt your name will ever be known..cos you are nothing

  • dont dis d rock u cunt.

  • i never did lol..read again what i said .."cunt"..then apologise...

  • @consta4891 Marciano would own you!

  • Your mother is a joke

  • you again? you hate marciano dont you? dont comment then simple as,let us enjoy the videos of one of the greatest boxers in history without you

  • @JohnWelshMorris1 who r u talkin 2

  • @americandream951 no one has disliked the video so could u possibly be tallking 2

  • @consta4891 Yeah, that "joke" would smoke you with just a glancing blow. YOu obviously know NOTHING about boxing. Ali said Marciano was the toughest fighter he ever faced, even though Rocky was almost 46 years old when they fought. Foreman said Marciano was the best. Archie Moore said noone ever hit him that hard in his life. YOU are the joke, for sure.

  • @3rdStoneObliterum ?????????????????wtf are u talking about, Ali and Marciano never fought.

  • @frEEturk I think you should go back to the "Baking Chocolate Chip Cookie" thread, where you can spread your chips on cookies.

  • @3rdStoneObliterum soo hilarious, way to make a funny to cover up your shitty knowledge of boxing tool.

  • @frEEturk Why dont you try typing a grammatical English sentence? Oh, wait, I know why. Its because your brain is ungrammatical. Ali and Marciano did fight. YOu better check YOUR boxing knowledge. They threw real punches and fought 100 rounds. The computer picked Marciano in 13 by KO. Ali said his ribs hurt for several days after Rock hit him with several torrid hooks to the body.

  • Nice! me too because i'm not that fast ;)

  • im 5'11 and im a heavyweight. but i have a better reach then Rocco, I also use the same crouch as Rocky

  • He uses an awkward technique but it does it haha, I try to train like Rocky myself, i don't know i believe it's my dedication to him. I run i trow footballs i pass medicine balls, got the same build like the rock. Only i'm 6,1 and he was 5,11 but it's also small for a heavyweight haha

  • did rocky get his power from the roman soldiers or sunting?

  • Thanks for the video my friend,

You can see that rocky isnt very good at the rope, but that wasnt his thing, He was Brute Power,

Rocky is My Fav Fighter of all time, A True Great, Look forward to seeing some more footage of him, I have Subscribed to you

  • Thank you for your reaction, i keep on searching ;)

  • Thanks for new vids.
