This is not an act of hostility. Some cats, for some reason, like to bite; sort of like how dogs chew on things. One of my cats loves to chomp on my hands when I'm laying in bed. He'll be purring, nuzzling up to me, then CHOMP! He also does it to my other 2 cats. They slap him when he does it. I just give him a little whack on his butt and yell at him and he knows to stop....for about an hour. Bad kitty.

Just to let people know: Sometimes cats don't like watches and rings because the hardness of the metal hurts their soft skin. Then they think you are playing rough so they play rough in return. @GamesMaverickDotCom yeas.. this is called "the stroke and bit syndrome" (I belive, I´m translating it into English) and this syndrome is a leftover from the cats wild nature. What happens is the when the cat is being stroked he has a limit to witch degree he can be cuddled before he feels constricted and lashes out. It´s different from cat to cat how mutch "love" they can take. Usually you´re cat gives you signals (like wagging their tail) when to stop and when you don´t they´ll bite.

Cats are very intelligent independant animals and have some sense of revenge. It is sometimes observed as a reaction to poor treatment.
