And while I'm not saying this to correct you or argue or anything, I think fedor has better strikes-to-takedowns. The reason I mention it is only because I think it would be cool if overeem was good at that as well.Obviously he wants to keep it on the feet, but there could be times where he is getting smothered where a strike to a takedown could help him.

Fedor in his prime showed more heart than any fighter in the sport. Even if he was put in a bad istuation, he was able to overcome adversity. Reem may be the best HW for now, but he;s never been able to overcome adversity, that;s when a fighter's will to fight is tested.

Brock is an exceptional athlete, and is one of the hardest men in the world. However no-one know's how good he really is in UFC. He's had barely any fights and has lost a few of them. Overeem is an animal, he is far more versatile and has a bigger range of standing strikes (kicks, knees etc). In my opinion its gonna be an ace fight, but i reckon overeem's gonna come out on top.
@omfgwhatisnttaken123 i think we do know how good brock is in the UFC. he's a strong, huge wrestler that dominates when he get keep his opponent down but is a fish out of water on his feet and a good striker with takedown defense can beat him.

Alistair Overeem used to walk around at 220 pounds and starved himself to make 205. In between 2003-2008 he gained 40pounds of muscle. In 1 year you can gain about 10 pounds of muscle. He has a good amount of time to pack on all of that muscle, yet everyone accuses him of steroids.

Just watch how big, powerful and overagressive was overeem at last year K1 grand prix and watch the werdum fight: he is less big (this is quite noticeable on trap and shoulders), less agressive (watch his eyes, his face) and his strikes are noticeably less powerful also. So Overeem is clean when he fights in US but most of his physical abilities have been built on steroids (you keep some benefits for life when used for long)

Brock is an exceptional athlete, and is one of the hardest men in the world. However no-one know's how good he really is in UFC. He's had barely any fights and has lost a few of them. Overeem is an animal, he is far more versatile and has a bigger range of standing strikes (kicks, knees etc). In my opinion its gonna be an ace fight, but i reckon overeem's gonna come out on top.

@omfgwhatisnttaken123 i think we do know how good brock is in the UFC. he's a strong, huge wrestler that dominates when he get keep his opponent down but is a fish out of water on his feet and a good striker with takedown defense can beat him.
"good striker with takedown defense" is like the perfect description of guys like JDS and overeem. i expect them both to take brock out. i think JDS has a better chance than the reem too, his takedown defense is AMAZING!

Alistair Overeem used to walk around at 220 pounds and starved himself to make 205. In between 2003-2008 he gained 40pounds of muscle. In 1 year you can gain about 10 pounds of muscle. He has a good amount of time to pack on all of that muscle, yet everyone accuses him of steroids.
Frank Mir packed on 30 pounds of muscle in a few months and no one says anything?

@MMAUpdater Actually Overeem gained his weight from 07ish 08 till 11. I personally dont think he has taken steroids, he hasnt ever tested positive.And he trains like a beast and is gifted naturally. But I will say our country has pumped up horse meat, and beef. We have had national team players in soccer test positive from food so who knows with that. Wish it could be cheaper to have tests that show natural vs synthetic testosterone.

Just cause he won a 1 tournament does not make him a wrestler. Brock is NCAA champion. a 2x Big Ten Conference Champion. He will dominate Overeem and I guarantee it.

@iconxinfamous Brock's stamina, based on his workouts and his fights with Herring for example, show that he doesn't breathe so hard that he can't even talk, unlike Overrated Overroid, who couldn't catch his breath long enough to say barely a single sentence, at the end of the Werdum fight.
If Brock stood around idle and wrestled a little bit with Werdum, he would NOT be that out of breath, based on his previous fights. Who knows where he is now with stamina etc.

@rapinbatches majority of mma fighters use steroids and performance enhancing drugs. i have no idea what rock you live under but majority of pro athletes use "PED" performance enhancing drugs, there are millions of drugs out there and hundreds to thousands of different combinations of drugs that are steroids. For the record alistair is not the only fighter who has abused PED, and for another record alistair has never tested positive for banned substances but im sure he uses them or legal PED.

Performance enhancing drugs do not = skill or instant strength or muscles or talent, they however help in gaining muscle, cutting weight, recovery and strength but not actual comprehension of material learned. Also as someone who trains and has met fighters and been in a gym you should realize that PED use is rampant among all pro athletes let alone in combat sports.

Overeem is K1 champion, nobody in MMA is even close to his stand up game. He's going to destroy Lesnar within one round. Dos santos will be very dangerous but not in the stand up game, JDS can beat overeem only if it goes to the ground (even if we have never seen what jds can do on the ground depsite his BJJ black belt)

I have the same amount of respect for a dedicated athlete - doesn't matter to me what they take or don't take. As long as they entertain me.

@robinly In Japan, whether in K1 or pride, athletes were not tested. Just watch how big, powerful and overagressive was overeem at last year K1 grand prix and watch the werdum fight: he is less big (this is quite noticeable on trap and shoulders), less agressive (watch his eyes, his face) and his strikes are noticeably less powerful also. So Overeem is clean when he fights in US but most of his physical abilities have been built on steroids (you keep some benefits for life when used for long)

Also, Shogun and Wanderlei Silva were bigger, stronger, and more aggressive in Pride than UFC. It's pretty obvious they had assistance back then, but not so much anymore.

He was a been pole and was quite obvious. Then he goes to Japan where STEROIDS are LEGAL> yes quite easy to get steroids for prescripion in JAPAN. He bulks up in five years to ENORMOUS size.
