The pirates particularly Caroline and London were an irritation to the government of the day , they were worried about the high number of teenage listeners and got them banned by making them illegal.
Well done guys! Great to hear and see the pop pirates again... I still don't think todays radio is half as good as Caroline and Big L of the 60's. It took me back to the days of having my "tranny" pressed against my ear all day and most of the night. My only regret is not seeing the ships in person, but I did see Radio 270 on the horizon many times. Many thanks - Tim
