I'd like to offer a little more on why the dark side needs humans for energetic resources--they have cut themselves off from primal source (the creator) and MUST feed off others energy or die. A very big motivator! For the beings who have become collective conscience they not only need the energy of humans, but larger beings such as the earth to fulfill their energetic requirements. :{
