@sunfilufagus I agree with you. But i dont care what you say or what anyone else says....Boise state has one of the greatest college football programs ever and there easily one of the best college football teams in the nation.
This and today's Rose Bowl go down as two of my favorite games ever.
Maybe one day the NCAA will do the right thing, get the special interests out of their postseason, and create a system that really does reward excellence.
@mrkingofkings dude, OU got completely owned for the first 3 1/2 quarters...without that punt bouncing back and hitting the BSU player, this isn't even a close game
You know, I love it when BSU plays bigger schools like this. They have proven that they can beat them. But, since they aren't in a BCS conference, they don't get that chance very often. The reason they aren't #1 in the BCS is because their schedule is weak. And BSU wants to play better teams, but those teams are afraid of losing. They should though have a stronger schedule now that they're in the Mountain west, instead of the WAC.
A great QB named Jared Zabransky who is from Hermiston, OR. Even though I hate the Hermiston Bulldogs but he put on a great show in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl & It's was a great Season to be a Broncos & Ducks Fan.
The only reason why the BCS put TCU and Bosie state in the fiesta bowl together is because they know that they can whip flordias and ohio states asses so they put two non bcs qualifying teams together so one would have to lose.
how is it the worst theres a trophy on the line in each game? and i dont like playoffs in college. Bowl week is one of the most exciting "weeks" of the year. period.
Don't like playoffs in college? What? You don't like fair play? You don't like everyone having a chance?
If Kent State goes undefeated, they GET NOTHING. If Detroit Lions go undefeated, they win the Super Bowl (Meaning they are #1). See the difference?
There's a reason College Football is a joke, it's the ONLY sport with a 12-year-old kid's idea of a post-season. It's dumb, and anyone who defends it is insane.
Kent state, your kidding? you realize TCU and Boise at least are good for a few years before they get in the BCS. Same with Utah. Its not just undefeated, you have to prove your good for at least a handful of years first. and fair? if a team is gonna make an upset step up during the season then not in teh playoffs.
I agree, lucius...the BCS system is corrupt and unfair -- the only reason Boise State has received LIMITED access (only 2 appearances out of 4 undefeated regular seasons) is the threat of a lawsuit. I am originally from Montana, and enjoyed seeing my hometown Grizzlies win a semi-final play-off game last Saturday to advance to a true national championship this Friday night. If D1AA can make a play-off work, then D1A can do it, too. The only thing holding it back is a greedy monopoly - B(c)S.
Yeah.. absolutely. The only reason we even have this system is because College Football used to so unorganized, but that's not the case anymore.
We live in an age where even a college from Boise State can dominate the Oregon Ducks and everyone says they aren't good enough.
Where TCU plays the toughest schedule in the nation, but they don't play a gauntlent. Where Utah dominates a team the Gators barely defeated and get NOTHING.
If Utah had been say an undefeated Virginia Tech team..
and the team Utah beat. are different you cant say florida beat a team Utah didnt beat this year. i believe you have to be good for a few years for a bowl buster to be a BCS. but last years utah is totally different then this years. you play this year utah vs this year bama. utah would get raped.
Yeah but also for a playoff system. they would have to make less games cuz they would be coming close to an NFL length schedule. So 16ish games or cut back regular season games. for a playoff system. either way your gonna lose.
@RatedxRxSupaFan Actually, I would rather a 10-game season and a 6 week playoff. (64 teams)
Also, Utah could play with Alabama, they are in a weak SEC. I believe they are overrated, they can't throw the ball very well and if Texas stops Ingram what then?
but that cuts down conference games. like in michigan big ten football is a life vein here. i mean if you played all your conference people and based it on your conference/overall recordin this case then sure no a bad idea then.
@neighsayer I actually kind of like BCS, dont get me wrong, it has its ups and downs, but if there were playoffs, then they would have to take like the top12 teams, and those teams wouldn't go to bowls, I like the bowl system, that way, you can come out a champion, even if you haven't won the National Championship, anyways, I think BCS is better than the way it was before.
Lawsuit? That's what Utah tried to pull. They finally got their chance to stick it to the BCS by joining the PAC-12 and how have they done? 0-2 to start off conference play. With their first conference loss coming to the hands of perennial PAC-12 doormat Washington State. Your right. Mid Majors definitely should have has much pull as Auto Bid teams. But I do agree, there should be a playoff. It would be like having 7 bowl games instead of 5 :D
@TTURedRaidr A GREAT pointless game. Here's a reason I hate American sports, the complete irrationality of them. I'm glad to have moved onto real football.
@TTURedRaidr What has? Are you saying rugby, soccer or hockey are not? Pretty sure soccer players are getting head problems later in life and having the NFL not do anything about it.
I'm pretty sure, there isn't huge health problems associated with weighing over 300 lbs. I'm pretty sure that they don't let coaches and sportswriters vote who should be in the championship game.
I'm also pretty sure, they are not only equally, but more athletic than American football ever will be.
@luciusETRUR No, hockey is a great game. I love it! But soccer, nah, it is too slow paced for Americans and you can't use your hands, which is pretty stupid. We also don't get 30-40 days off a year, like Europeans and others do, so Americans have no patience for soccer. You have to be in shape for soccer, but you have to be in excellent shape for hockey and American football, along with strength. Not so much strength with soccer.
@TTURedRaidr Soccer can be slow-paced, but so can all sports, not to mention the constant stopping in football and even-so in hockey (although I don't have any problems with hockey other than the NHL.)
Are you soccer players aren't in shape? Also, there is plenty of strength in soccer and what does having 30-40 days off mean? Baseball is way worse in terms of scheduling than any combination of soccer leagues.
@luciusETRUR lucius, Soccer isn't a popular sport in America. Americans don't have the patience for it. Our culture dictates differently. Our options here in the States give us so many opportunities to do other things that are challenging and exciting and soccer will never be one of them. The World Cup is viewed as a big one world order thing anyway and our freedoms just don't embrace the garbage.
You don't have to support the BCS to claim this as the greatest college football game of all time. In fact, THIS was the game that destroyed the BCS' claims of legitimacy. The trick plays at the end were both the icing on that cake, and the best of classic football cunning.
I'm sure watching a great game between to two teams full of a roster of the best football players in the world isn't going to better, you're so right!
I enjoy watching games that have no meaning, it just adds to the flavor. There's a reason I never watch BCS games, it's because they mean nothing.
The NCAA has NEVER crowned a """FBS""" team as a champion,
your adding to my point though, boise was a bunch of players idaho. thats what makes the game incredible, no one outside of idaho could tell you oklahoma was gonna lose to boise back then. so its an average joe team ralling to defy odds and beat a powerhouse. thats no fun to watch? i dont know what is
It wasn't a "bunch of players from idaho". They were recruited by one of the best mid-major recruiters ever.
Let's look at THAT very point. Arizona Cardinals were 9-7, got blown out by New England (a non-playoff team) 42-7. Everyone said it's a disgrace they are even in the playoffs.
Then, they came one drive from knocking off the Steelers in last year's Super Bowl. Arizona wouldn't have even made the BCS if that was the system used in the NFL.
Let's get down to this really. Arizona is has had one of most awful histories in the history of the NFL. It's been around since the 1940s, and they have no Super Bowls, maybe a division title or two, and a losing attitude. (Prior to last year, of course!)
Look, I love Boise State, they are an awesome program and have great fans, but let's be honest, they had a better team than Oklahoma, this game was a blowout that Boise State let Oklahoma get back into.
you don't think college football matters? every single fucking player you praise went through college..don't hate just because these people played for pride once just because you are nothing
Oh, is that what I said? No. The Fiesta Bowl doesn't matter. Who cares who won the goddamn bowl game, are you champs? Nope.
On that point, the NCAA has never crowned a champion ever. It's always been coaches and AP poll until 1998 when the BCS was given the "honor".
I enjoy College Football, I never said it doesn't matter. I said the games don't, because if you're Boise State and you go undefeated through the vaunted "PLAYOFF REGULAR SEASON".. you get to play in a meaningless game.
meaningless to YOU. No one in here cares about your mainstream opinion about how the national championship game is the only one that matters. You want to cry about it? go create a forum and cry all you want there. Or better still, stand in a room full of college football players from a school that will never see a championship game and tell them how meaningless their bowl game is, get your ass beat, film it, and put it on youtube so that we can laugh
Just because I would get my ass beat doesn't mean I'm wrong.
Also, the BCS National Championship is meaningless, because the NCAA doesn't crown you, a third-party does.
I am so sorry, I didn't realize America has become a country where everyone needs to win. I always thought the point of playing was to be the best, to be number one, didn't realize it was about just playing a game that doesn't matter.
once again...it is meaningless to you..if it was meaningless then there would be no point in playing them..do us all a favor, put your headphone back on and shut the fuck up
IMO, the Broncos proved they belong in one of the major conferences. Again, IMO I'd put them in the Pac-10, expanding it to 11 (similar to Big 10 w/Penn St)
I find it funny how often people say "they were overrated" when Boise State beats a team from a major conference...it's an automatic response, like a broken record. And yet before the Broncos beat the Sooners, EVERYONE was picking Oklahoma to win big. So in the span of 4 hours (the time it took for the Fiesta Bowl to play out) they went from national championship contenders (but for a blown fumble called vs. Oregon) to overrated pretenders?
although i am an OU fan i still think that this was a great game and Boise State played like champions, you can't really say anything bad about this game, the refs called a good game and it was a nail biter
man i was there.. it was an amazing game, and so fun, although I am an OU fan I still had a great time. and i got to miss school for it too:) good game
This game was so Awesome, I remember sitting on my floor watching this game and it went on forever, it was such a nail bitter. I live in Boise and I love my Broncos! Go BLUE
A great representation of the shifts in momentum in the game. That was the best game I have ever seen. I downloaded it on iTunes for $2. :D 5 stars, as I (and everyone else) became a Boise State fan that night.
I remember this game. I was working at LA Fitness and the game was on the TV's by our cardio machines. I remember a crowd gathering around it and everyone's attention was on the game (all of the guys, some of the girls haha). That statue of Liberty play had everyone going wtf lol and holy crap! lol
Without a doubt this was the absolute best football game I have ever seen. I was watching it in bed, and when Boise State got that TD to tie and Johnson's 2-point conversion I literally leaped out of bed. Unbelievable game. Congrats Boise State. Hope your program makes another trip to the BCS Bowls.
No actually it doesn't. Considering they are the best in my state for what I'm going in, and the main professor for it is one of the best on the west coast.
I've watched a lot of football....this might be the best game of all time. BSU was incredible! I passed up a beautiful girl watching this game...LOL!!! As far as crazy comebacks, the 1980 Holiday Bowl with BYU beating SMU was nuts, low rent outdated commentating though. I always root for BSU...go Broncos!
well i dunno, i agree with u, im canadian im a hockey fan, (if u no what im talking about): jordan eberle scored with 5.4 seconds to go to tie the game it went into shootout, canada beat russia and went onto win gold, im just saying its amazing how theyre last gasp worked, and 17 secodns left, the lateral did it all... im also a patritos fan and the superbowl was incredible, the tyree grab the manning escape, it was a miracle, that was a good game
lol OU sucks they should be banned from playing in any BCS games. They stole Auburns chance in 04 and got rocked just like every year...big game bob, ya right.
And Boise State...and West Virginia...And Texas....And Florida...And LSU and basically every team that has played them in a BCS Bowl Game in the last 8 years...
Now I'm a Big 12 fan, and it's always sad to see a Big 12 team lose on a big stage, but this game was truly incredible. Easily one of the top 5 bowl games I've ever seen. I'd probably put it as the most exciting finish ever. Great game.
The most amazing sequence of trick plays pulled off in crucial situations that I've ever seen. It's as if God decided to put on a headset and screw with Okahoma in the fourth quarter and in OT. Oklahoma needs to stop playing teams in orange and blue.
The game doesn't have to have one of the greatest teams of all time to be the greatest game of all time. The greatest NFL game ever was the Ice Bowl, and neither of those two was the greatest ever. There have been plenty of great college basketball teams, but Duke/Kentucky 1992 was the greatest ever. What does a game mean in history, what are its memories, and does it stay at a high level all game long?
This one did. And I'm another that says Best Ever.
If there is a better college football game played, I haven't seen it. So i'm with you. I mean, USC/Texas was fabulous...but it was almost anti-climactic the way Vince Young moved up and down the field on USC. This game...you have an underdog jump out to an 18 point lead, give up 25 straight points, pull out a CRAZY gadget play to tie the score and get to OT. Then after the favorite and their bell cow RB score on the 1st play, the underdog comes back and wins on back to back gadget plays. INSANE!
Wow... I love that scene of the Boise St. and OK players heading back onto the field for the OT coin toss... I mean, what would you say to them at that point? What COULD you say? Fantastic game, maybe better then USC-Texas.
better finish not better game because remember USC was supposed to be best of all time and fiesta bowl is no national championship and Vince Young went for the corner and win the game. OU SUCKS
You can't compare multiple sports...Game 5 of the 2004 ALCS, after all...but this was THE Greatest College Football Game of All Time. Ever. Anywhere. Period.
This is not a highlight video of the Fiesta Bowl, this is a video pimping Boise State. If the game was really as one sided as this video shows, then the Fiesta Bowl wouldn't have been the epic game that it was.
How many times have you watched the 2007 Fiesta Bowl? Not only was I in the stadium for the actual game, I have watched it many times since. Boise State was VERY close to blowing OU completely out of the water (up 28-10 in the 3rd quarter and getting the ball back) before a turnover swung momentum to the Sooners. Most of the game truly did consist of Bronco highlights; however, you'll note that I DID in fact throw in a few Sooner highlights, so you don't have much to whine about.
However, you do admit this is more of a Boise State highlight video rather than a Fiesta Bowl highlight video. Why else would you put up random videos of Boise State getting first down and tackles. Several of these plays weren't actually "2007 fiesta bowl highlight" videos, but were "plays you see several times in any game, but I included them in this video bc I like Boise State."
I was telling the story of the game...Boise State gets out to a big lead by playing very well...Oklahoma comes storming back...Boise State pulls out the stops and wins the game in spectacular fashion. If you have a problem with my video, you have a probelm with history.
@spectre0075 Indeed? To hell with the Big XII(-II), with all the elitists, and the powers that be. Revolution: it's what America is built on. So suck it, Bull-Crap'n-Sh/tters.

but there is some pros and cons on whether or not we should have a playoff pro teams like tcu and bosie state would be able to go to a championship
con there would be about 16 teams in which would most likely be the top 16 so 17-25 seasons would go to waste even though they had a winning record

Exactly. The BCS is only not being investigated as it has money and power.
Also they want to make it more like the NFL. Which, amazingly, HAS A PLAYOFF SYSTEM. That (sort of) works, and is fair to everyone.

your adding to my point though, boise was a bunch of players idaho. thats what makes the game incredible, no one outside of idaho could tell you oklahoma was gonna lose to boise back then. so its an average joe team ralling to defy odds and beat a powerhouse. thats no fun to watch? i dont know what is
RatedxRxSupaFan 2 years ago
It wasn't a "bunch of players from idaho". They were recruited by one of the best mid-major recruiters ever.
Let's look at THAT very point. Arizona Cardinals were 9-7, got blown out by New England (a non-playoff team) 42-7. Everyone said it's a disgrace they are even in the playoffs.
Then, they came one drive from knocking off the Steelers in last year's Super Bowl. Arizona wouldn't have even made the BCS if that was the system used in the NFL.
luciusETRUR 2 years ago
Let's get down to this really. Arizona is has had one of most awful histories in the history of the NFL. It's been around since the 1940s, and they have no Super Bowls, maybe a division title or two, and a losing attitude. (Prior to last year, of course!)
Look, I love Boise State, they are an awesome program and have great fans, but let's be honest, they had a better team than Oklahoma, this game was a blowout that Boise State let Oklahoma get back into.
luciusETRUR 2 years ago
you don't think college football matters? every single fucking player you praise went through college..don't hate just because these people played for pride once just because you are nothing
lrave001 2 years ago
Oh, is that what I said? No. The Fiesta Bowl doesn't matter. Who cares who won the goddamn bowl game, are you champs? Nope.
On that point, the NCAA has never crowned a champion ever. It's always been coaches and AP poll until 1998 when the BCS was given the "honor".
I enjoy College Football, I never said it doesn't matter. I said the games don't, because if you're Boise State and you go undefeated through the vaunted "PLAYOFF REGULAR SEASON".. you get to play in a meaningless game.
luciusETRUR 2 years ago
meaningless to YOU. No one in here cares about your mainstream opinion about how the national championship game is the only one that matters. You want to cry about it? go create a forum and cry all you want there. Or better still, stand in a room full of college football players from a school that will never see a championship game and tell them how meaningless their bowl game is, get your ass beat, film it, and put it on youtube so that we can laugh
lrave001 2 years ago
Just because I would get my ass beat doesn't mean I'm wrong.
Also, the BCS National Championship is meaningless, because the NCAA doesn't crown you, a third-party does.
I am so sorry, I didn't realize America has become a country where everyone needs to win. I always thought the point of playing was to be the best, to be number one, didn't realize it was about just playing a game that doesn't matter.
It is meaningless, and you're retarded.
luciusETRUR 2 years ago
once again...it is meaningless to you..if it was meaningless then there would be no point in playing them..do us all a favor, put your headphone back on and shut the fuck up
lrave001 2 years ago
There is no point in playing them. LOL

there's no point in in-breeding either

IMO, the Broncos proved they belong in one of the major conferences. Again, IMO I'd put them in the Pac-10, expanding it to 11 (similar to Big 10 w/Penn St)

all this game proved is that OU was (and still is) vastly overrated. Not to mention they're grade A choke artists.
yourultimatekiller 2 years ago
I find it funny how often people say "they were overrated" when Boise State beats a team from a major conference...it's an automatic response, like a broken record. And yet before the Broncos beat the Sooners, EVERYONE was picking Oklahoma to win big. So in the span of 4 hours (the time it took for the Fiesta Bowl to play out) they went from national championship contenders (but for a blown fumble called vs. Oregon) to overrated pretenders?
neighsayer 2 years ago 3
hopefully 1 season Boise will get a good schedule to where theres a least 3 top 25 teams that would automatically put them in a Bcs bowl game

a great game it was, to bad zabransky is in the CFL, and Johnson is a 3rd stringer...#1 on NCAA's greatest games... none better

A great representation of the shifts in momentum in the game. That was the best game I have ever seen. I downloaded it on iTunes for $2. :D 5 stars, as I (and everyone else) became a Boise State fan that night.

VampireYoshi 2 years ago 2
If there is a better college football game played, I haven't seen it. So i'm with you. I mean, USC/Texas was fabulous...but it was almost anti-climactic the way Vince Young moved up and down the field on USC. This game...you have an underdog jump out to an 18 point lead, give up 25 straight points, pull out a CRAZY gadget play to tie the score and get to OT. Then after the favorite and their bell cow RB score on the 1st play, the underdog comes back and wins on back to back gadget plays. INSANE!

This is not a highlight video of the Fiesta Bowl, this is a video pimping Boise State. If the game was really as one sided as this video shows, then the Fiesta Bowl wouldn't have been the epic game that it was.
StuUngar 3 years ago
How many times have you watched the 2007 Fiesta Bowl? Not only was I in the stadium for the actual game, I have watched it many times since. Boise State was VERY close to blowing OU completely out of the water (up 28-10 in the 3rd quarter and getting the ball back) before a turnover swung momentum to the Sooners. Most of the game truly did consist of Bronco highlights; however, you'll note that I DID in fact throw in a few Sooner highlights, so you don't have much to whine about.
neighsayer 3 years ago
However, you do admit this is more of a Boise State highlight video rather than a Fiesta Bowl highlight video. Why else would you put up random videos of Boise State getting first down and tackles. Several of these plays weren't actually "2007 fiesta bowl highlight" videos, but were "plays you see several times in any game, but I included them in this video bc I like Boise State."
StuUngar 3 years ago
I was telling the story of the game...Boise State gets out to a big lead by playing very well...Oklahoma comes storming back...Boise State pulls out the stops and wins the game in spectacular fashion. If you have a problem with my video, you have a probelm with history.
