  • gives me chills everytime i watch it. <3

  • Lässt mich sentimental werden! Ich vermisse Fleetwood Mac so bad!

  • theme song from toossite

    theme song rom tootsie

  • This is my fav live song of theirs

  • Great videos \o/ I'm kind of 'bigsteviefan73' ;)

  • Best performance of Chain, absolutely legendary take and the one I listen to most often.

  • oh god this performance is just passion .. love it xxx

  • Lyrics by the ethereal Ms. Nicks, music credited to the rest of the band...clearly, after all these years, Nicks and Buckingham sing to each other...it is hard to forget that "one" in your life....others may come and go but you never forget that "one"...:/

  • I've watched this video many times and thought to myself: 'Am I the only one who plays this without a capo?'

  • @videogamegurl4evr,

I know right! Last month I was reading the newest top 100 article and was like where's Lindsey, where's Lindsey, WHERE THE FUCK IS LINDSEY!!??!

  • Lindsey would never been able to sing like this without Stevie Nicks. They both loved each other, and that explains the pure emotion in every song.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • bass riff z awesm!!!!!

  • Lindsey. You're bat-shit insane. The only thing crazier than you are those fingers of yours. They are possessed by some kind of demonic entity.

  • BOSS!

  • epic solo!

  • CHAINS KEEP US TOGETHER

  • EPIC HELL YES

  • The way Lindsey and Mick fed off of each other during the guitar solo was fucking EPIC!!!!!!

  • played rythem guitar and lead at the same time. It's so amazing

  • BEST.FINGERPLAYER.EVER

  • PURE EMOTION! PURE! SO TRUE! You can see it.... they make you feel their pain! LOVE IT! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!

  • I listen to this live performance since 3 days and i can't get enough!

  • Both McVie's were under-mic'd in the mix, Lindsey is so sped he can barely keep his guitar on, Christine keeps looking half-lidded like "Wow, what a pack of freaks I work with," Stevie is close to exploding from tragic stress, and Mick is, well, Mick is totally living in his drums as if oblivious to the planet as usual... and yet the end result is: TOTAL AWESOME!

  • STEVIE AND LINDSEY WERE SINGING THIS TO EACH OTHER, NOT THE AUDIENCE

  • this performance is ten million emotions wrapped into seven minutes.

  • I love this song!!!!!! What a Band!! Thank you for this AMAZING Upload!!

  • By the way: from 3:03-3:07, Lindsay isn't singing "If you do not love me now..."; he's simply telling Stevie, "Oh, hell no, bitch...it's on!" And Stevie stands her ground; the furious, glazed-over look in her eyes is one of "You can kiss my lily-white ass!"

  • John McVie and Mick Fleetwood are so underrated; they keep the other three from going off the rails musically......

  • in spite of their differences especially then, you can see in her eyes the respect that Stevie has for Lindsey

  • @blunderboy1964 They were just two strong personalities and that very rarely ever works...Somebody has to give in!

  • awsome

  • Damn I love this.

  • WOW

  • And this is a guy who CAN'T read music. Holy Fuck!!

  • I don't like Jeremy Clarckson.

  • this instrument is a gun and he is the gunner

  • correction (lol) : 2:29

  • best part 2:39

  • 4:24 ~ 27, the best walk in history.

  • Best bass line ever! and it comes halfway through the song. so Bamf!

  • Lindsey is wicked underrated. He's easily my favorite musician, period.

  • Lindsey got voted 100th on the Rolling Stone top 100 this time around! I guess the voters never saw this performance(or any) by Lindsey! F Rolling Stone!!!

  • @danielashelford I hear ya! I was so pissed when I read that article! He deserved better than that!

  • WOW... so much emotion ... its almost like Lindsey and Stevie were really yelling at each other ... wait I believe they were... Epic

  • Lindsey showed Stevie up on this one lol

  • God damn Lindsey knows how to move during a solo!

  • MY FAVORATE FLEETWOOD MAC SONG

  • Look, everyone, you are making too much of the way Lindsey is acting here. This is Lindsey, he has always been kind of hyper and add coke to that (NOT Redbull!), and this is what you get. Also, remember that this was their first performance in some time, and also the 1st song of this concert, so he was kind of hyped as well as trying to hype the audience. I have seen FM in concert and they are phenomenal.

  • This performance gives me chills. I tear up. You can see the passion and feel their pain. love love love them!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing this. This was the classic line up.Lindsey,Stevie, and Christine

were all great singers.Wish I'd seen them.

  • Too much Redbull Lindsey!

  • @yossarian22athome you mean they made powdered redbull back then? lol

  • @weirdguy75 What an idiotic statement...should be removed from this page.

  • @junerose621 How is that?

  • @weirdguy75 Just see above, dude. It's called a totally hyper Lindsey made more hyper by cocaine use. There it is, plain and simple, no Redbull about it. There WAS not Redbull back then anyway. Cocaine all the way around....

  • @junerose621 Meant to say see below, can never remember how they stack these responses. Anyway, no offense intended.

  • @junerose621 Clearly you need to learn to read. I was being sracastic towards yossarian22athome for making the redbull reference. I'm full aware the magic powder fueled Lindsey's performance. Don't fucking atack me without knowing what you're talking about! I fucking love FM

  • @weirdguy75 Glad you do, dude. Am sorry if it sounded like an attack. It was not meant to. I did not read what some idiot wrote that you were bashing. I don't even see "yossarian", don't care to. Anyone who loves Mac is cool with me. Peace. ♥

  • @junerose621 No worries, my friend. Let real music live on!

  • @yossarian22athome if you think his problem was redbull you are clearly a virgin

  • @AilsaMcG um, well I know he and Nicks had a thing at one point if that's what you mean? It's clear he's wired here. Great performance anyway.

  • @yossarian22athome OMG, another idiot. biglindseyfan77, you need to delete the inappropriate comments. Fleetwood Mac is too classic for this childish crap.

  • One of Their Most Intense Performances

  • favourite performance by them

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • That my friends is why us old farts scoff at studio performances. 20 takes to get it right and only then it is still mediocre. But a live performance when the moon and stars all line up just right, and everyone is on their "A" game?

    One word.

    EPIC!

  • hes such a babe here!:)

  • they are on FIRE!!!

  • Just awesome. The sound engineer, however, should be taken out and flogged for mixing out all the low end; Where the hell is the bass line?

  • This is fucking EPIC!!! To everyone caught up their drug use: These songs wouldn't have been created without the help of drugs. His voice isn't ab to crack bc of drugs. It pure emotion. Maybe, you've never felt something so strong that it make you scream in torment. It takes fucking guts to expose yourself the way they do! Respect there emotion and talent. It's a blessing.

  • @aee6317 Yeah and that dime size hole in her nose is there by accident? You certainly don't need drugs to create great music--you need talent!

  • hes so FINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEE here:`)

  • That wail haunts my dreams

  • 3:30 !!!!

  • Strange. They also sound better live than recorded. Usually, it's the opposite and the venue atmosphere compensates for the sound. Great tune! You can feel it.

  • LEGENDS

  • @sTapleEVA I was going to said the same thing, but then I saw your post. Ditto. ♣

  • 2:38 :D

  • stevie and lindsey were meant to sing together!

  • Comment removed

  • i agree totally bryt !!

  • What a great taste in music Top Gear has.... Some say the Stig listens to ABBA....

  • just freaking awesome....and did it really ruin your life that lindsey may or may not have been on drugs in this video...who cares...listen to the performance...he abused that guitar

  • God damn.

  • i just got my mind blown....

  • Holy Geebuss!

Lindsey and Stevie should have a marriage councilor in between them when they sing this...lol

  • Lindsey does an awesome awesome guitar solo in this.. fabulous! Of couse Ms. Nicks vocals are as haunting as ever! Love it thanks for sharing!

  • Stevie was so much better before she became a diva. My husand says she was always a diva. Either way, she lost me on the way.......

  • they were best live and this is the BEST of the best!

  • must have been hard for Christine to keep up with harmonies when S & L were in this kind of mood - not really knowing where they were going as they were so passionately in synch with each other

  • are any other versions of this song even worth watching compared to this one? i haven't watched them, so i'm asking in earnest.

  • @aceofbassgreg sure they are worth watching, but this is pretty much the best

  • @aceofbassgreg - in a word NO.

  • I'm not one to critique rock music with any authority, but thias has to be the most intensely passionate versions of any song I've ever seen. Even more intense knowing the history of the singers. And who cares if they were off their heads on marching powder? Nobody would say anything if they'd skulled a bottle of JD before a performance.

  • I think Lindsey is singing this so pasionately because he is raw and means every word of it. He was completely bent out of shape over his relationship with Stevie.

  • Who gives a shit if they're coked out there heads. If they can perform like that on drugs then they can do whatever they want, hats off!

  • 3rd row 1982 Oakland is a Life Changing Experience! I knew Stevie was awesome. I had know idea?

  • WTF Lindsey is trippin:(

  • I've never seen anyone so passionate....

  • Oh I used to have this concert on video....was broadcast on MTV....but my sister recorded some TV show over it....dang habit of forgetting to remove the record protection clip!!!

  • 9 Justin Bieber fans broke the chain.

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUM! greatest guitar solo ever!!!!!!!

  • cocaine's a helluva drug...

  • lol.....

  • There is a certain dysfunction about this performance that I enjoy immensely. One to keep in the time capsule...

  • Sad. Two of my favorite writers and singers, brilliant, but so jacked up on coke, clenching and straining and pushing their voices, that they destroy the mood of this beautiful tune. People say smack is bad for you, and they have a point, but you can sustain a serious dope habit and still play and sing, much better than these shrieking banshee cokeheads can manage. Shut it off!

  • C'mon, guys... Lindsey looks like he's having a mild stroke at the beginning of this song. He can barely keep his voice from cracking.

  • After Lindsey grabbed that ukelele for the first time and bangged an Em hard it become an electric guitar

  • You just see that tension between stevie and Lindsey in this and it shows through the music in the best way possible. Man what a fucking bunch of musicians people wont see anything like that again

  • @bryt12693 Especially as long as people are blinded by wanna be talentless shits of today's generation. It's sad but true. People who are so ignorantly retarded that they snub the beatles for Justina Beaver must be shot, Idiots who compare Jay Z to Elton John must be hung, and re re's who prefer Avril Lavigne over Lindsey fucking Buckingham must die in some painful manner.

  • @bryt12693 It isn't just romantic tension, Lindsey and Stevie are singers and performers of the highest degree - get them on stage together and fireworks will happen! I agree, we'll never see music like this again - sad to say.

  • Comment removed

  • @rebventures - this song was NOT written by LIndsey to Stevie. It was written, in parts, by all the band members but mostly Stevie and Lindsey wrote the music to it. Stevie had actually started it off and Chris and Lindsey put their parts to it. This is heavily documented.

  • the play button got raped!

  • Lindsey looks especially pert and perky, and to think it was all powered by a steady stream of cocaine. Oooooowee, what up wit dat, what up wit dat?

  • Back in the day... Lindsey was hot... like Jason Mraz... nice...

  • Does he have Torrettes or something?? Awesome Band

  • Steamie Nicks.

  • I could watch this video a hundred times on mute and still enjoy it. The passion and the feeling as they look at each other, it's fucking magic

  • The tension was palpable btw Stevie and Lindsey, and it's almost as if Christine is trying to keep them singing instead of ravaging each other, either angrily or sexually or, most probably, both at the same time.

  • @capnkirk102 I'm with you on this one. I can't tell if they (Lindsey/Stevie) want to fuck each other or simply tell each other to go fuck themselves. Whatever the case, this performance was, without doubt, a meltdown. They're not playing their instruments; they're forcefully humping them, while Stevie is turning into a banshee before the crowd's eyes. Simply brilliant.

  • what kind of guitar is that (Lindsay's) i want one soo bad

  • @galaga15 I think it's a custom built one. Called the Rick Turner Model 1

  • alistair mcgowan tearing it up on bass right there

  • fantastic video you put together.....loved it, sure wish I could of seen them back when I was young and they were this hot

  • "Lindsey. What happened when you asked Satan for your guitar skills?"

"I got the skills, then proceeded to blow Satan away with The Chain solo."

    "Any repercussions?"

"Well, I lost my sanity, but my passion just filled that space right up."

  • "Lindsey. What happened when you asked Satan for your guitar skills?"

"I got the skills, but I had to snort so much blow that I couldn't sing any more, only force out a thin piercing shriek, and bounce around the stage doing the pogo and shaking like an epileptic. I'm starting to think Jimmy Page had it right with the junk. He could play like a monster, and he didn't have to make a jerking, twitching embarrassment out of himself in front of thousands of people."

  • @TheKingOfSkiffle Seems like you're comparing two completely different bands, and two types of guitar playing. Satan, of course, being the alternate name Jimmy Page likes to go under.

  • love this song from fleetwood mac.it remembers me of my holiday to ibiza.!!!!

  • @lainey767 Really? When I think Ibiza I don't think "Fleetwood Mac" but that's cool.... I hope to visit there someday...before I'm "old." LOL

  • Only time Mick Fleetwood has ever been outcrazed.

  • Love that dance Lindsey......I mean REALLY, been listening to this all day......God bless real music!!

  • im in love with this vid !!!!!!

  • Lindsey makes his guitar scream..i love it and him simple

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • Can't stop playing this on repeat, especially the amazing improvised solo. This performance definately shows how this song meant something pretty special between Buckingham and Nicks. Pure emotion and power in this song.

  • I miss Christine singing "Still hear you saying"

  • sounds so good!!!!!

  • listen to their cover made by Three Days Grace^^

  • @PaulJLG

    I did and its horrible

  • lindsey buckingham was the major contributor to the songwriting of Fleetwood Mac along with Stevie Nicks

  • one of the best drummer bass player combos ever........ oh and the singers are pretty good too :D

  • @MrMeddled Proof that all genius needs fuel lol. Soooo much talent.

  • Where's Peter Green?

  • Great band

  • 6 people are jelous because their coke wasnt as good as theirs

  • i got chills....

  • In 1982 there wasn't a band on the planet that had the stage presence of FB and there have been few since.

  • Amazing bass!!

  • Six Dislikes.... Six people who need their musical tastes adjusted ;)

  • Did they ever release this version of The Chain on a live CD?

  • you think lindsey is off? lol

  • You can 't even imagine how much energy I'm getting out of listening to this. What a rush!

  • 5:39 is the best!. Look at how well Stevie plays that tambourine.

  • I was convinced my right right leg was possesed during that. Which re-enforces my opinion that this song is brilliant

  • Best version I've ever seen or heard. Dear whomever, this is intense...

  • Lindsey is one mother fucker without a pic..

  • @MrMeddled

All combined to form one big bag of crazy AWESOME.

  • Effin covers. Drums, Bass, one great song.

  • @MrMeddled Not a soap opera. Soap operas are melodramatic.

  • j adore!!!!!!!!! Fleetwood Mac I LOVE STEEVIE NICKS!!!!!
