Landspout??? what the hell is a landspout?? Do any of you all that doubts that was a tornadoe, do you even know what a tornadoe looks like or know what one is??? That was a dam tornadoe,,,I lived in an area that had them quite frequently. BTW,,,that was NOT a dust devil either

A landspout is a type 2 tornado. It's a tornado that is not associated with a mesocyclone. Type 1 tornado is spawned from a supercell thunderstorm, and type 2 tornado which is also known as a landspout is spawned from typical thunderstorms or cumulus clouds that have the right conditions to spawn a landspout. The landspout basically forms the same way most waterspouts form, except they're just on land. I still don't see why people confuse this for a dust devil though. It's clearly a tornado.

it is spinning. do you really expect to see that kind of detail in a small tornado on this LOW QUALITY video? If it wasn't spinning, there wouldn't be a funnel. Funnels spin too. how do you think they get that shape? A funnel becomes a tornado once it either starts picking up debris or touches down on the ground. YOU don't know CRAP about tornadoes. THAT thing IS picking up debris. (dirt at least, NOTICE THE BROWNISH COLOR) so it IS a tornado.

That was wird. It poured down pretty hard at my house. We live by the 215 and I though I saw a funnel cloud (tornando) near my house. So i said MOM MOM MOM DAD DAD DAD! and everyone thought that I was lying. A couple min later they finaly came but it had dissipated :(

i saw vid from a newscast and they were talking about previous warnings that had happened and how no tornado actually happened with them. duh! a warning isn't issued right when one is on the ground. that would defeat the purpose.

It really WAS a tornado. We live in Woodcrest and it was only about a mile away. My kids were jogging and saw it across the hill and sprinted home. After there was a huge rainbow stretching across the sky that looked neon in color it was so bright. My husbands co-worker saw the semi truck get tossed into the train on the 215 and an animal (cow?) spinning in the air.

guys, this is a tornado, that kid is right. there were thunderstorms in the area that produced funnels and tornadoes at the time, when dust devils would form during a sunny day, you guys with me? dust devils don't form from a thunderstorm, you can clearly see the top of the spout was at the bottom of a cloud, I am right, and you are wrong! the weather people even spoke with the NWS and they said they were tornadoes, from thunderstorms!!! next person who comments on this video, no dust devil lol
