  • terrible

  • thats wrapping not taping... asshole

  • u fkg wrong dude sorry i slept on the dislike buton :S

  • if u want see right way have look there on my one

  • looks veeery smoothie.....

  • LOL WRONG Your suppose to have it rolled up for one and then suppose to go over your knuckles like 4 times b4 u even wrap

  • worst wrap i have ever seen.

  • too fast

  • Everyone below me is an idiot. He wrapped his hands properly.

  • Haha ! bullshit ~~

  • too fast and bad announced

  • haha i don't know anything about wrapping hands, i actually just looked this up because im writing a fiction novel about martial arts. im glad to know from the comments that this guy failed significantly

  • WOW that was so WRONG

  • its a good wrap, just way to much in the wrist, i would have thrown down at least 3 or 4 layers around the knuckles.

everyone has there own way depending on the fighter, some feel more pain in the wrist then the knuckles, or vise versa.

  • Wow.... that was.... bad

  • well this is an absolute failed attempt

  • Я лично умею только так бинтовать !!! Очень удобный метод !!!

  • WOW. I know that theres 100s of ways to wrap hands but this is one of the worst

  • Seriously i would not do this lol

  • you speed

  • WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yep, its kinda bad wrapping. the wrap is too short for any kind of support even if so. It does not really help but only helps in avoiding sprains

  • what a retard. he wrapped them so wrong. no protection on the pinky at all

  • what a retard, ur not supposed to add an protection to the pinky, if u put it around the pinky it breaks ur pinky or damages it on impact

  • @theWoWrehab You are absolutely correct, adding padding to the pinky actually increases the chances for the pinky to break. More padding on the knuckles, it can easily be pushed in.

  • I'm just getting into MMA and Muay Thai so please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the main fighting style for UFC Muay Thai and don't they use very protective gloves that have a lot of padding on the knuckles? I'm just asking this as a question but yeah I'd wanna know if I tried using this method to wrap my hands =S

  • You're right. The purpose of wrapping your hands is for support and padding. Then put the gloves on. There are different methods of wrapping hands. Look at how many negative comments there are for this video.

  • ah don't worry about it mate. everyone has their own way of wrapping.

  • tell me one thing: punching the punching bag with only the gauze or the handwrap wont hurt our hand bones?

  • it will significantly reduce stress yes. what i usually do if i'm punching a punching bag is do it raw with no tape or gauze until my hands get kind of soar, then i will wrap them up and continue to hit the bag for a while till they get soar again and that will be one session.

  • @mistamini Umm hell no. MMA is not any exact martial art. Hence MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. There are more wrestlers than anything though which gets fucking annoying. Luckily. I wrestled from 4th grade to junior year. I also learned BJJ and boxing from the ages 13 to 23 which i am now. Also i began Karate at 14. Muay Thai is kick boxing with elbows and knees. So MMA's standup would be Muay Thai but then there is takedowns so no. Muay Thai is not the primary art there is not one.

  • @mistamini Also btw UFC is not the only MMA orginization. Theres StrikeForce, PRIDE, DREAM,WEC, and more but theese are the main ones.

  • noch schlechter gehts nicht wa ? Dulli ey

  • this is a terrible way to wrap, no knuckle protection.

  • this may have knuckle protection, but if you are wearing it just for show (what idiot would do that? o.o) than i strongly suggest this, as there is little to no resistance, unlike the types where u padd the knuckles.

  • some thai boxing have a rope for wrap.

    uhmmm,,,Muay Chai ya.

  • very bad wrapping

  • Why is this so unecessarily complicated?

For Muay Thai, just go for the traditional wrap. First padt the knuckles then wrap around the wrist. This is one of the worst grip I have ever seen....and I have been doing this for 15 years!

  • that is the worst wrap ive seen

  • Not really good for sparing or any kind of bag work, this kind of wrapping is more for show, where is the padding for the knuckles! I would say go for a longer wrap and create some padding for the knuckles then start the wrapping.

  • you missed between your middle and ring fingers plus no padding on the knuckles

  • You're really lacking padding on the knuckles....I guess these wraps are fine if you intend to do spinning back fist a lot.

As for being muay thai, most people are saying this is a "western wrap", the muay thai wrap is actually going in between the fingers multiple times, not emphasizing the thumb as much.

  • WTF was THAT?

  • alot of western gloves are used for muay thai in america

altough he did have no padding

im just mentioning some gyms use western hand wraps

    doesnt really make a difference

  • LOL!!!

  • no protection for the knuckles what so ever. I just started wrapping today, and I just felt obligated to say that the thumb thing is western and not muay thai bro. I do a couple loops around my spreaded fingers, take em off and put that bunch ontop of my knuckles and go over them, to keep padding on the knuckles.

  • ascolta fai cosa vuoi...qual'è la tua palestra..così tanto all'avaguardia?

  • i'd use this as a underlying layer

    not a top..

but i'd make this really thin..

  • and that loop on the thumb is pure boxing. That's a western style wrap...

  • no padding at all, have fun getting broken bones.

  • baaaaaaaaaad, horriblee, my god !

  • that was horrible

  • Dude you just gave yourself no padding...

  • ugh.. that was bad..

  • helal olsun very good my friend

  • for muay thai, you do not use the loop. You create a padding first and form an x and in between the fingers starting form your knuckles.

  • that is the worst example of wrapping i have ever see.

  • bad wrapping. you did it wrong. you have to leave the palm of your hand open!

  • haah yeah I agree this wrap is terrible haha it looks like your not giving much space between your fingers and there jumbled all up lol. Then you show it at the end it looks like a big mess. More practice then maaybe another video.

  • my fuking band is too short!

  • Hi, I am maybe the only one, but I like your wrap :)

  • Hmm 60,000 + views and almost all bad comments? I don't mind. I know it's not a good wrap. I'm just curious as to why this is getting so many views. Do you really all want to see this in order to know how it SHOULDN'T be done?

  • fuck yeah i want to see it

  • You can't see it is a bad wrapping before you saw the vid.. But jeah it is terrible when i wrap i do the hand a few times and then i do the wrist a lot. Because i harden my knukles a lot i don't need that shit in front of the nuckles and neather would anyone actualy.

  • @ashieng

People have to view in order to know what to see the outcome of the video. How can someone click into this video and know what to expect already lol. The number of views may indicate the increasing interest in martial arts and people want to learn more about handwrapping.

  • vary bad wrap! my advice is get longer tape. that way you have much more support. also the palm of your hand should be open. leaving the palm open allows the tape to be spread across the nuckles, thumb and wrist generously allowing the best support. DONT DO WAT THIS GUY DID! you'll break something...

  • ok wut part would that be nick?

  • bad rap u left out the part of the hand that fractures the easiest.

  • i use this same way! my friend brandon vera showed me to do it like this but scince i have big hands mine looks diffrent but its a good way to wrap and i found out the higher u wrap ur wrist the more power ull have

  • Your hands remind me of CS: Source.

  • its tru.. lots of muay thai fighter dont use the loop lol...

  • Sorry, that's a bad wrap.

  • word.

  • well i think this isn´t a bad handtaping but i will try it tomorow in sparring and training and i will tell yours! so peace and greez. and to 420tokenn00b just chill and let the people tape there hands how they want to and don´t use utube wenn u R drunk!!!!! eM-C

  • hashahaa

  • he aint protecting nuffin he jus makin it look nice

  • Well i suppose there is no "wrong" way but that is a bad way. There is more wrap between your finger than on the knuckles!

  • hey, before you go hating on somones vid shouldnt you acculy learn something about what the vids about? in muay thai you do put more wrap around the fingers then the nuckles. he did 1 bi mistake for muay thai you dont use the loop.... your a rookie fuck of learn shit

  • I think we can all agree this 420tokers dumbshit has never taken muay thai.

  • and how so becuase i outsmarted you? i was really drunk when i wrote that but i was still right most muay thai fighters dont use the loop

  • I dont deny that.... I don't use the loop but alot of the shit you said was just that... shit. If you think this is a good wrap then you need to go learn what you are talking about.

  • i never said that was a good wrap it was teribal and i know what im talking about my brother teaches mauy thai

  • I don't give a shit what your brother does. You don't know shit. Everyone on this post is saying its terrible then you try trashing them and than come back saying "it was teribal". Shut your mouth.

  • And there I was thinking I've been doing it all wrong for seven years :p

    Bad, bad.

  • within the first five seconds i could tell this is wrong.

  • that was the worst fucking wrap ever. first of all, theres no point in rapping the inside of your palm, that just takes space away from making a fist. The wrap you did made your wrist look flimsy and unsupported.... and uncomfortable. The way you wrapped it makes it look like its going to fall apart when you take it out of a lace up glove..... ew.

Go back to the gym and learn the basics on hand wrapping.

  • 1. hey genios thats going to protect alot of fucking bones in your hands from breaking it also makes you hit harder by conecting big bones to your knuckles instead of the ussual small ones just like a set of brass nuckles

    2. i agree with you ther

so maby you should go back to the gym and learn your basics you think you know it all cus your like 13 and your brother shows you once?

  • wow... 40,000 people have learned how to break their hand in a fight. NEVER run the tape between the ring and pinky finger. You need to take this video down bro...

  • he didnt put the wrap between the ring and pinky...but yeah still plenty wrong with it.

  • Take the time and spell correctly and maybe people will take you more seriously. Secondly, stop taking things so personally and calm down. As long as your knuckles and mainly your wrists are protected, it's fine.

  • Sorry to disagree.

3 loops to the wrist area first ( to lock wrap ) then build up some wrap in the knuckle area.

    Then do the finger loops.

The padding in the knuckle area protects the knuckles.

The fingerloops is so when you hook with your fist ( slightly bent wrist to the inside ) you don't break your hand.

  • thats what i m saying good obs.

  • I'm a beginner and haven't really thought much about how to wrap my hands, it just doesn't seem to make any difference, but that looks much worse than my random wrap.

  • well wraping your hand isn't about making it look good or cool it's protecting your knuckles and hand

  • Yes of cource. I didn't mean that. My knuckles are fine also. Why is the wrap different in Muay Thai than for example in western boxing?

  • i can't explain that but for one thing muay thai and western boxing are two different style, you don't question the klu when he's teaching you lol

  • Of cource it's a different style, with different rules etc. But I still don't understand why the wrap has to be different. Before when I trained kickboxing I got completely different advise from our national champion. I thought that this wrap looked like it wouldn't hold, especially if you take off your gloves.

I allways question things, that's how you learn. It doesn't mean that I think I'm perfect or anything.

  • I think just depends who taught them or how you prefer to do the wrap. If it protects the right parts but done differently who cares?!

  • Yeah, that's what I thought.

  • learn to do it proerly mate an you will understand the importance of wraping your hands properly

  • Yeah, my wrap is better now.

  • man this is really awful, have somebody show you haw to wrap your hand.

  • Not a good way too wrap.

  • This is not a good way to wrap your hands. Also the wraps appear to be too short.

  • i always put tape in beetween my fingers

    its so much easyer

  • This video is the worse display of how to wrap your hands correctly! If you follow this example you will break you hands very quickly! Protect knuckles and your wrists, but do not use this. Mike- Atlanta

  • Don't follow this video...never put the wrap between your ring and pinky fingers

  • no this is boxing style wraps. in Muay Thai they disregard the thumb loop & make layers instead.

  • das nie goed :d:d

  • I wish that chick in the background would have been quiet a little more...'french fries and soccer practice"?

  • you suck at wrapping hands, waaaay fuckin wrong. everybody that watches this video do not wrap your hands this way unless you want to break them

  • Ordinarily, I try not to be negative, but you're right, this method of hand wrapping is dangerous. When using a canvas wrap, never NEVER put the canvas between your pinky and ring fingers. If you're using tape strips, that's fine, but a canvas wrap like that will mess up your hands on impact.

The purpose of wrapping and taping is to reinforce the wrist and the connection between the first 2 knuckles and the wrist.

  • wow your a noobie

  • wrong ...

  • Take it from an experienced fighter, that technique is horrible. It might have looked clean but as someone else said, it doesn't really provide any actual support.

  • Thanks for your input. Maybe you could suggest some similar videos that show a better way?

  • tnx man ^^

  • Thanks for posting, its just kinda confusing cause you go sorta fast.

  • This is a poor technique. First the wrap looked too short. Traditional muay thai wraps are 180". Most important functions of a wrap is knuckle cushion to protect to many small bones of the hand and wrist support. This method doesn't protect either.

  • I'm no expert, bee using hand wraps for thai for almost a year, but i saw 2 pretty bad things in the wrap ( i could be wrong)..First i thought you should wrap from the outsde of your hand not inside, so opposite direction. Second, you neglected the inside of your pinky and ring finger, end product looked ok though..

  • That video will help me from looking like a dumb ass in class tomorrow thanks

  • waay wrong

  • lmao, it took me like 3 hours taping my hands!

good thing we can pause-rewind :P

  • Ha ha. I still can't do it with the expertise of my teacher. Everytime, after finishing taping my hands. I let him look and ask him "How's this?" To which he'll respond "so-so" or "not-so-good" or "ok".

Most important is to use the tape to protect against abrasion, and to provide a cushion for the knuckles. So I keep that in mind as well as taping the hands in such a way so that the tape will not come loose while in action.

  • thanks for that bro!

  • Hey! That's cool. I was taking boxing lessons for a little while here in Hsinchu. My coach is Yuanzhumin (I forget which group--it has been a while).
