Er strebte ein Wiederaufnahmeverfahren an, welches im März 2007 vom Landgericht Hildesheim in erster Instanz abgelehnt wurde.

Ernst August verlor einen Prozess, bei welchem er erreichen wollte, dass die Bezeichnung "Vorbestrafter" nicht für ihn verwendet werden dürfe.
