I have this and it goes on incredibly smooth. I think it may look cakey on this video due to the immense amount of pearlescence and shimmer which accentuates the creases and lines of the skin. I definitely only recommend this for younger skin.
what's up with all the positive comments on these eyeshadows getting a lot of dislikes? well i'm going to jump on the bandwagon and say that i LOVE these colors and they're so much easier to blend than powder. go ahead and give me a thumbs down you fucking wankers!!!
@MsDDiddy I was wondering the same thing :/ These colors are gorgeous and the texture looks lovely! one person keeps commenting that it's cakey. :/ Apparently she's never heard of the phrase "to each her own". Oh well, we can get lots of "thumbs down" together. :))

It looks too shimmery? I like the rusty colour but I think more matte eye shadows would have looked better along side it instead of loads of cream shadows. Would look more "natural" in my opinion.
Wow...I love how people get so worked up, arguing about stuff that really has no impact on the grand scheme of things at all, chewing each other out over what amounts to really, nothing at all. stop saying bad things about Lisa Eldridge...the lady is 43, and yeah she might not have the skin as a 20 year old has.
and no, the eyeshadows doesn't look cakey. she's a proffesional makeup artist, and she probably would have done something about it, if they did look cakey.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The shadows don't look that cakey you have to remember that some of the cakey appearance is because she is getting older and so her eyelid probably isn't really as taught so makeup will go into the mini creases a bit and therefor look more cakey then they are!!!
Hi Lisa. Would you be able to do another tuturial using the other shades? I have shade 86 and am thinking to buy another colour but not sure which one! x
I'm surprised the shadows look so cakey in the video. I bought 3 of them last week and they really are easy to blend, have a light, silky texture and stay put for a while.
I wish make up artists could have ethics as well as creative talent and make a stand against animal testing. For animals to be tortured for the sake of a lipstick or eyeshadow is in my view criminal. Why do only a minority of people care and think about what we buy? An eyeshadow may look pretty on a model but the rabbit/cat who was forced to eat it or had it poured into their eyes didn't look so pretty. If top make up artists took a stand things would change. Come on Lisa please.
@hoppingandpurring Lisa doesn't need to take a stand on anything because Chanel does not test their cosmetics on animals at all! I am a regional makeup artist for the Chanel and fellow animal lover. I wish that activists wouldn't be so quick to judge the actions of others especially without conducting research first.
@PeaceLoveErika1 I entirely agree re: judging others without knowing the facts because I'm not an 'activist'. I'm a person with opinions that thankfully can be aired due to the wonders of democracy. I wasn't just referring to Chanel-in fact i didn't refer to Chanel in my post. Having said that Chanel isn't a cruelty free brand. Check PETA list. Chanel isn't on the 'safe' list. Sad though that you appear to be defending cosmetic testing...
@hoppingandpurring i agree that cosmetic testing is cruel, but at the same time think of the consequences of not using it? Before we can change the industry, we have to come up with a new plan.
@EmLove2013 Well, the 'consequences of not using cosmetic testing' are brands such as Clarins, Mac, Smashbox, Urban Decay, Estee lauder, Bobbi Brown etc for over 2 decades until recently, etc etc. In the UK cosmetic testing is illegal. There are thousands of products available that haven't been tested on animals. Mind you, are you seriously saying that you think make up is more important that animals lives? Could you genuinely not live withoout cosmetics?
@hoppingandpurring I was actually thinking more broadly, not just cosmetics, but drugs in general.
Without animal testing, we could consume drugs that are potentially fatal or harmful. I was valuing human lives over animals, which is also debatable. But, thats's just my view.
@laura02v511 you should check out lisa's blog. you'll be impressed with her list of all the clientele. no offense to kandee but lisa's is actually highly regarded in the makeup industry.
i think chanel should broaden there business a bit more and sell more darker shades of foundation. frankly i can't but and face makeup from chanel because they have very few shades. BEAUTY COMES IN ALL DIFFERENT COLORS.
@69desigrl the eyeshadows are not cakey, they are very textured shadows, and she layered two of them. shes a makeup artist at the top of the industry who has an a-list client list, creates the looks for entire fashion shows, and is featured on the covers of every fashion magazine you've ever heard of, and plenty you havent...trust me, every little tiny bit and pixel of her makeup is intentional...
@TheMzCherryBerry even when she had only one eyeshadow it still looks cakey an i honestly dont care who she worked for or what she did i only get impressed by the talent she shows. and if her makeup is so intentional then she should have realized her eyeshadows look very chunky and cakey not smooth and creamy at all
@falloutmnky um i never said it was her fault that the shadows are cakey so relax sweetheart and stop putting words in my mouth. second if shes as amazing as you claim even though ive never heard of her before then she should know better than to promote a bad product
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@69desigrl She's a very successful, well known and respected make-up artist. She does make-up for celebrities and covers for fashion magazines. You should check out her website, you would be surprised at how much work she does in the fashion industry. She will be getting paid good money to market these products; so why wouldn't she? Any business minded person would take marketing opportunities!
@bananacraig um so basically you're saying that a "respected" lady is selling s bad products to make money?? wow way to make yourself and her sound really stupid and greedy
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@69desigrl She is highly respected in the industry. How bad can the products be? They are by Chanel; so obviously thought of as high quality. In your opinion they are bad, I personally don't think the eye shadow is bad at all. She has contracted with Chanel to endorse their products. Therefore she can't then turn round and say "actually, I don't want to endorse your products because I find one of your eye shadows and little bit cakey". I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. Use a bit of logic.
@bananacraig yeah im sure ur so right considering the fact that ur comment has so many negative votes that i have to specifically click on it to see it while for me i actually have true intelligent people agreeing with me and giving me thumbs up (love u guys!) and even though she is endorsed by Chanel she doesnt promote every one of their products so she could have talked to them about doing a different one. bottom line she shouldnt be lying for money. so why dont you use a bit of logic.
@69desigrl She's not lying. In your opinion her eye shadow is cakey. She might not see it as cakey. Your argument doesn't make sense. In YOUR opinion the make up is bad. She may disagree. At the end of the day, it's a youtube video, and you are demeaning this woman because one of the products isn't to your personal taste. She's not a bad person, she's merely doing her job. Get over it.
@bananacraig ok im definitel not demeaning lisa at all. the only thing i said was the eyeshadows are cakey, which is not degrading to her personalit at all so please stop being dumb and putting words in my mouth because i have nothing against lisa. and you are the one whos constantly harassing me, defending this women over nothing because i had never even insulted her.
@69desigrl I'm not your "sweetheart". Stop being so patronising. You clearly did insult her by calling her a liar. Usually when a person is deemed a liar, that would be seen as an insult. Moreover your spelling and grammar is poor. Maybe you are the dumb one. At the end of the day, Lisa is successful and you will never be a patch on her. Your demeaning comments towards this lady over an eye shadow aren't going to change that.Take your flawed argument somewhere else. Merry Christmas now!
@69desigrl Therefore, you have no proof to say that Lisa does not like the products she's endorsing because your argument is based on your own personal opinion. I don't care if people agree with you; they are wrong. You do not know if Lisa likes the eye shadow, therefore you cannot cast judgement on whether she's a liar or not. You can argue against this, but it's factual. You cannot read her mind.
second my argument is that her eyeshadows are cakey, this has nothing to do with her, so stop trting to make me look bad by saying im attacking her when i never had anything to do with her. also all the arguments u said to me also apply to u, because guess what sweetheart you dont know her so you cant tell me shes being honest and a good busineswoman. thanks for proving your complete stupidity and why dont you get over it sweetheart :)
@69desigrl Yes. You said she was a liar. In my opinion that's demeaning. So basically you admit that your argument is flawed because clearly you don't know if she is lying and this is entirely based on your personal preference. Thanks for clarifying. I'm not being "dumb" and I am not putting words in your mouth. Everything I have said has been based on your arguments. You made out that Lisa is a liar and is marketing a product she doesn't like, when you don't even know if she does or not.
@bananacraig um no sweetheart, i said that based off ur argument, to prove to you how invalid and weak it was. You said she was endoesed by Chanel and had to promote these products even if they look bad which translates to lying for money, so You're the one being demeaning to her not me and this proves that you r putting words in my mouth. Ur the one who said all these things not me, so grow up and get ur facts straight.
@69desigrl "Um sweetheart", yes I was giving you it from a marketing perspective because I am in marketing. However, neither of us know what she thinks of the product. You make out as if she's a terrible make up artist. Clearly she's not. You come across as being pretty naive, "sweetheart".
@bananacraig lol thats funny, seeing as you're the one misconstructing my sentences, putting words in my mouth, and yo're the one who keeps on going back and forth between your arguments because even you know how sad and pathetic they are and have no true support. besides if you are actually smart you would have realized that i never commented on her talent or lack thereof, only on the product itself. so please stop being so stupid and once again stop trying to make arguments on
I bought nr 83, it is really lovely! But I have noticed that the shadow stay perfect in place for hours but after one hour my cheeks are full of glitter that fall off..... How should I fix this??
for some reason the chanel vitalumiere aqua just seems to separate on my skin ( have tried using a flat foundation brush, a stippling brush, and my fingers)... i also shake well before applying and use a moisturizer on my skin 5 mins before putting on the foundation. but it just seems to separate into tiny powdery particles on my skin :( any suggestions? i have combination to slightly oily skin.
great video I bought all six eventuelly and love them all. Mirifique I use as a eyeliner as well and get alought of complimants on it! Keep posting please?
These eye shadows are amazing! I have the purple one and I absolutely adore it, they are like nothing I have tried before. Loved the look Lisa created :)
I have a question, I really like the eyeshadow color, but I'm extremely fair skinned and I'm afraid I'll look like a vampire, is there a shade close but a little lighter? Or should I just use less and blend more?
My aunt bought two shades from this collection, which are beautiful! I'm sending her this video it's going to be very helpful for her! (She's not using lots of make-up, so she doesn't always know how to apply it...)
Hello Lisa, I've got two of these beautiful eyeshadows (83 illusoire and 86 ebloui) but I can't for the life of me stop them from creasing like mad. :l Any tips? Love your videos, btw! :)

for some reason the chanel vitalumiere aqua just seems to separate on my skin ( have tried using a flat foundation brush, a stippling brush, and my fingers)... i also shake well before applying and use a moisturizer on my skin 5 mins before putting on the foundation. but it just seems to separate into tiny powdery particles on my skin :( any suggestions? i have combination to slightly oily skin.
