I was in the army in 69 and never was never turned on to this album. I did have Super Session. But my question to everyone is this: How old is Mr Otis this year. Now how old was Shugarcane Harris in 69 now how old was Mr. Otis jr. .... Happy birth day mr. Otis I hope you all the best. e.g.jr.
@bobgure Jesus...thank you man....... I have had so many Bloomfield RAW/BLITZING/SOULONSTEROIDS jams bombed out by Kooper and his keys. Someone needed to say..."Al....we love ya...just stay behind the glass". I am just so glad to hear someone else share my feelings. Shuggie was THE TITS.........
When I was a yoot, back in the early 70's, some friends and myself started a band. We were mosttly stoned/drunk teens but we called our band " Slow Goonbash'. So, 40 years later, I am wondering where we came up with the name for the band.
Seems I have found it. Thankyou "rapitroy'
After Slow Goonbash disbanded I was in a band called " Cunny Licket and the Bearded Clams'.
I think my brother came up with that name. Anyone heard of us?
Shuggie Otis was 15 when this was recorded on Kooper Session

He could've been the greatest blues guitarist ever. But he didn't have the heart or the proper guidance IMO.

Among the finest modern blues excursions. Fire, attack, composition, dynamics.
I've probably listened to this over a thousand times...Like all great art, it never gets tired.
I skip the insipid Kooper organ solo of course. Thnks for posting.
