  • Yep that's why I traded my prius in for a fusion sport

  • hybrids are gay, takes more pollution to make and later dispose of than it will ever save on gas!! people will believe anything these days...

  • chevy tahoe?...why is there a GMC logo on the steering wheel?

  • This guy definately sounds like a car salesman.

  • you ran the red light

  • Get Your Foot Off The Dashboard!!

  • that tahoe have engine? or is electric car? or is a electric car whit engine v8 6.0?

  • i kinda like it

i never really looked at these big SUV's but this one is kinda nice.....safe thats for sure, so if anyone hits you then they well have the problem not you

of course unless a bus going 60 mph hits you then it's another story but over all i like this car

  • Some people forget that, Ford was the first American Auto Manufactor to make Hybrids in their vehicles...like, almost 7yrs. ago...with, the Ford Escape!

  • they copied Toyota Prius patented technology...cause they[Ford] can't come up a hybrid design of their own.

    im not kidding

read all about it on auto tech journals.

  • Lol..., yeah right! Ford had Hybrid systems in their vehicle(S)(Escape) since 2000! Toyota just started putting Hybrids in their vehicles in 2003, with the Prius.

  • First Prius went on sale in Japan 1997, then Worldwide[including USA] 2001 the 4 door Prius, the 2nd generation prius w/c is a 5 door instead of 4 door

went on sale in the U.S. in 2003

Prius originally developed in 1994 when gas was $1 or so a gallon

  • I see, you know your history about Toyota, huh? ;-)

  • not that much....

the Escape Hybrid CVT transmission is made by a Japanese supplier Aisin Seiki Ltd. guess what ...this company is 24% owned by Toyota.

the Ford Hybrid Escape battery is supplied by Sanyo Denki and guess what its also the Prius battery supplier.

Toyota shares its manufacturing and some engineering process they are not afraid...GMs pontiac Vibe is a Toyota Matrix so GM sells Toyotas in their lots just a few people know the GM does not tell :-)

  • Lol..., yeah right! Where are you gett'n this info. from? I'll like to read it, myself! Seeing is believing to me. What if, it's the other way around? I can honestly say..., with all auto manufactors..., they usually have different races of people working for them...so, just because, a man is Asian dosen't means, he's with Toyota or, Nissan! An African American produces most of GM's car designs, nowadays. That dosen't means, GM is partly owned by Africa!

  • Lol the Escape wasn't even made until 2001 and the Hybrid version wasn't made till 2004. HSD has been around since before 97". Ford "borrowed" some patents from Toyota to make their Hybrids.

  • Lol..., yeah, sure! Where did you get that info...., from a Toyota book?

  • Well Ford Themselves has stated they licensed their technology from Toyota and it's pretty obvious they started selling the Escape hybrid in 2004!

  • Lol..., you've must of been dreaming when, you heard Ford gets their technology from Ford If that was true..., Toyota logos will be on Ford vehicles now!

  • How is 2004 almost 7 years ago again?

  • Lol..., whatever! I didn't start seeing Hybrids on Toyota's vehicles until 2004, also!

  • LOL you didn't look. The Prius has been in the US since 01". God are you clueless? BTW. I own an 07" Ford Explorer :D

  • Just because, the T. Prius may have been in the US since '01...doesn't mean, Hybrids been in the Prius since '01, also! P.S. You have a '07 Ford Explorer? Shouldn't you have a T. Highlander or, 4Runner???

  • The Prius has never been anything but a Hybrid.

  • All T. Prius's are not Hybrids! They have different levels, also.

  • Yea the regular and Touring. And the Prius has ALWAYS BEEN A HYBRID. IT"S CLEARLY ON THE WEBSITE. The First Prius was offered only as a Hybrid, and the current Prius is only able to be purchased as a Hybrid.

  • Oh yeah..., you're right! My bad! For some reason..., I'd pictured you talking about the Corolla. Lol..

  • GMs experience in building hydrid=0 years

toyota=11 years and counting the prius came out in 1997 when being green and gas was cheap was not in yet now is on its 3rd generation w/ 4rth coming out

  • they go up to 24 mpg and good thing is have heated seats

for all rows and price is $55000

  • 1st gen sequoia limited with 70k miles, K&N intank, Toy Racing Development S/C econochip, and edlebrock exaust: 34mpg, 368 horses. 4lbs boost. lov the sound it makes. AND NO UGLY BADGES!!!(note that the chevy hybrid has 9 stickers "HYBRID" so you won forget ur an environmentalist) PS. they overkilled their truck with badges and decals.

  • Quote the experts:

"right the engine is not running, it's just charging the battery" - woot.

  • U PEOPLE JUST DONT UNDERSTAND!U are complaning about how stupid an suv hybrid is but ur the stupid one. u realy dont under stand how importent an suv is in america! they tow a hell of alot better then a fucking car and it has more space for long traveling and thats the reason for the suv hybrid 7-6 mpg increase is great for the 90% of america who use suv for reason that you cant get out of a prius. it look better its bigger and its tougher. get in a wreck with a prius ur dead but not with this!

  • what the need to do is natural gas

  • It's 21 mpg CITY!! Ya dumb sons-a-bitches.

  • whats the point with adding a hybrid? $10K more for 6 more mpgs? wth? VERY UNNESSARY. TOYOTA hybrids are the leaders of hybrids.

  • Toyota may be the "leader" in numbers but the plants they use to produce those hybrids are the highest polluting in the world. And you still pay $5000 more for a Toyota hybrid.

  • face it this is their first hybrid. they stole the hybrid technology. and where do chevy get their hybrids?. and you cant maintain the hybrids @ home. BUY A CAR.

  • GM had hybrids in commercial vehicles like buses(much higher polluters) before the Prius came out. Toyota and Honda took the high publicity road, GM took the more noble road.

  • its a first generation hybrid, what did you expect?

  • These vehicles would be a fucking joke if climate change wasn't as serious as it is.

Do you think people are as stupid as this?

The US is giving the rest of the world the finger, and your credibility as a serious nation slips another notch, which is a real shame, when it could be a market leader in genuine hybrid research and technological innovation in this area instead.

Fuck you for misleading people like this.

  • well let's see Chevy is on the road to PR schemes. LOL. It's called a mild hybrid basically. Not a full-hybrid like the prius because you can't you go all EV for low speeds. And you wonder why you only get 20 mpg. Model T got better mileage.

  • it IS a FULL hybrid that WILL run on ONLY the electric motors up to 30 mph, very similar to the prius, but you can tow your boat with it!

  • you blew two STOP signs,your a crappy driver,,,,JERK.

  • Test track/facility, it's not exactly a problem.

  • 21-24 MPG, woopdedoo.

  • For a 310 HP 7800 lb vehicle, yeah, BIG WHOOPEDOO.

  • The mpg improvement is pathetic, and questionable. WE don't care about hp. The suspension, folding seats, air bags, bla bla bla, doesn't mean SQUAT. It's still a gas guzzler.

The vehicle cost might be $10,000 extra for 6 more MPG, and it's difficult to imagine what demographic might buy it:

Contactors? Maybe for image, but we bill the cost of fuel to the customer.

Commuters and cruisers? They don't give a poop about mpg economy, unless it helps snag chicks.

  • what people have to realize is that hybrid technology is still new and expensive. if you want a cheap vehicle that gets good fuel economy then look at diesel cars.

  • $50,000 for 21 MPG, THATS A &$#*% BIG WHOOPEEDOOPEEDOO

  • 320 HP (CowboyDiplomacy)

  • stop sign......oh yea, who cares! lol.

the interior isn't so bad, hope it's w/in the same price range as the regular.

  • Well, I can tell you that it'll be a little more expensive than the conventional due to installing a more complicated system but hopefully those gas and maintenence savings will offset the higher cost to buy it.

  • It'll be optimistic with a current Tahoe or SUV.With generous calculations of $3per gal& 5mpg increase and and 15,000miles per year you save a whooppping $670 of which if you paid $4000 more it'll take you 6 years to recoup. The only problem is the hybrid parts will be alright but the SUV probably won't make it that far out.Such minuscule upgrade is a virtual no gain. You'll save more renting a truck when you actually really need it.Most people drive alone in SUV & cars.

  • That's exactly what people should be doing which is to rent, not get an SUV, so you can lug around your 400 lb. self. I'm not interested in the SUV itself; I'm more interested in its Two-Mode hybrid system, in which hopefully it'll be much better than Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive.
