ooookay? sooo... 1st u say ready too much, 2nd idk how the fu-ehm- to do this, 3rd wtf was that at the ending? walk away? damn man I'm sitting on a chair!
nice vid, but i was wondering how to share with like my friends living at other houses. can i share with them? like can i do something so they can see my tversity server? please respond. =D
Tversity and other media sharing programs like it only work on computers within that network. So it would not work with any other computer or device not on that network. There ARE however programs that let you share media over internet protocols or upload files, such as Ovi and Twango. These are fundamentally different however, as "streaming" such as tversity requires direct connection )via network) to receiving computers, which you just cant do with a computer out of your direct network.
okay, thanks a bunch! but one more question... for those programs Ovi and Twnago, does the recipient have to have the program as well or, for example, could i stream directly to the recipients ps3?
to stream to your PS3 you do not need to do ANY of these things, wtf has the codec have to do with anything?
the easiest way is to have ur pc on, and tell the ps3 to find media servers, and a option will pop up from WMP, to accept the connection, and if you say yes, thats all you ever have to do!!!
no turning on any programs, your ps3 will find your pc if its on, and you can browse the music, video and picture folders, and stream or copy any content!!!
With the new firmware, UPnP discovery is much more refined. This video is for firmware 1.x on PS3, we have 3.x now. It also seems you dont know how codecs work, the PS3 cannot "understand" the same file types as a computer, so you need a "codec" for TVersity to "translate" the file into something the PS3 (or any other device) can understand.
Sure people know how to install a program, however, not everyone knows exactly which program to install, or how to set it up just right so that things go smoothly. Next dumbass comment?
@ SovietMessiah - what advantages does this program have over WMP11? I use WMP11 and am happy with it but am always on the lookout for a upgrade. Is it down to personal choice?
I personally have not been able to get WMP11 working. Some have, others have not, same with Nero Home. It really comes down to whats works for your system. If WMP11 works for you, then by all means, use it. The main limitation of WMP11 as far as I know is the lack of file support that WMP employs natively.
Just did it and it works beautifully !!!!! But it does concern me that it keeps downloading un-needed shit !!!! that does worry me ???? Thanks for all the info ...
Glad you got working! I think the big problem everyone has is FFDShow codecs. Every tutorial I have seen says to install FFDShow and Haali media splitter. But those two things are completely not needed and even cause major playback problems.
Tversity suxs. It should only compromise 81.5MB in the installed folder but actually keeps downloading uneeded feeds from sites like (guess where) and the folder ends up growing to enormous size like mine before I uninstalled it...freaking 81MB ended up being 1.7GB!!!

phantom187 4 years ago
no it doesnt. I have zonealarm firewall running all the time. all you need to do is allow tversity to run through the firewall.
