A toast to Townes from those who were blessed with his appearance at the Flora Bama Lounge. To Townes and Mickey, may you stay forever young, and may the young stay within the beauty of your soul. ... Shu
@NickeyWhitfield Sadly no, I've searched for other transfers and come up empty. This was taken from a vinyl bootleg (if I remember the source details correctly) and just happened to skip a little.
I am one of the people fortunate enough to have met Townes....it was in1995 at his show at Rockefellers.....did a meet and greet with him.....I had him sign an album cover for me.....it is my most prized posession......I will never forget that nite....
@MickeyNewburyMusic Your father was my favorite. Song for Susan and Cortelia Clark are my very favorites. I sure have had a lifetime of enjoyment listening to his songs.
It is an outstanding example of Townes songwritng , but I am confused at the end of the song beging with the old washer woman. Can anyone help me out here?

Gosh I miss him. What a talent. What a tortured soul. What an early loss of a wonderful, talented artist.

...of course he quoted it correctly, "...makes her hair 'seem' a soft golden rainfall."

I once asked my dad who his favorite writer was. He sat there for a second, then said:
"The brown of her skin makes her hair a soft golden rainfall that spills from the mountains to the bottomless depths of her eyes."
I've loved Townes ever since, and regret never meeting him. My father was no slouch either.

This is my favorite TVZ song. Would it be a different world if everyone had a love like this?
