Damasio, who claims an undertanding of the phenomenon, is unable to fully distinguish between emotion as experience and process , moods,. body language, and response, Their linkage together with, adjustment of belief structures and attitudes following emotional impact are self evident but are blurred in most writings on the subject because of the myth that their are many discrete "emotions". The reality is that emotion words are simply attributive labels for perceived threat or promise.
Warning: You cannot determine if you are crazy if you are already crazy. So who will get this technology to "repair" people into being "normal"? Who's to determine who is sane enough to determine if somebody else is too angry or too depress or too.....
Great, let's try to fix everybody into being constantly being happy. Hmmm... I think I've seen this movie before.
being crazy is not necessarily a neurological problem, it's more a cultural issue.
as culture dictates what's normal and what's not.
u are basically placing your own emotion upon someone which is not really there, and thus objectifying someone as crazy basically makes u also crazy (if we were to follow our own mind).
u can only define something as crazy if u can't define a set of your own values upon something else.
He is right pointing out the feature of homeastosis( an innate drive to maintain equilibrium ) but " action-response" is a misnomer . The physiological changes induce action readiness rather than response. Like others he includes related behavior, facial responses and moods atributable to arousal of emotion within the experience of it.i.e. no parameters between what emotion is - i.e. no more than any. disturbance of equilibrium in face of threat or promise -and actual(if any) response.
Although Damasio is closer than his predecessors to an effective explanation of emotion he does not distinguish between feeling as sensation related to the phsiological changes in the process of the subjective experience and feeling with a cognitive content contemplating the implications of behavioral re-action in the face of the eliciting stimulus or, assessing the seriousness of its nature in terms of our well being. That "sensations" are part of the experience is beyong dispute.

who is to say being happy is happy?
as it's a state of mind which u can't change.
they are not going to try and change emotional illness, they are going to find a way to solve neurological sickness (alzheimer/parkinson etc)
