Pettis deserved the win. Rob Roy had some top position in the 3rd but was unable to do anything with it. Showtime landed the most significant strike of the fight in that last round (the kick to the body), had the mount, and ended the fight in the dominant position. Close fight, but a good win for ASP.
Round 1 to Pettis, Round 2 for Sherron, Round 3 for Pettis. Even though Sherron kept taking Pettis down he was also reversing each time and Pettis was trying to end the fight where as Sherron just laid on top.

Oh, and the flying ninja kick... Pettis has something more than 90% of the fighters. fighting through a dislocated shoulder, getting the knock out. He's something else. Pettis deserved to lose. His TDD and BJJ were impotent. Man he's improved in both areas. As far as receiving a gift though, it evened out when he got jobbed v. Bartimus. Should have been 6-0 in WEC. Speaking of WEC jobbing people from this video, Leggett shouldn't have lost his after going 1-1 w/ a defeat v. the eventual champ. He should be 21-4 w/ wins over Pettis and Lentz (undefeated in 5 in UFC). That should get him a position in Strikeforce at least. Not a C-Level fighter.

i love pettis and all but that being said i dont think he deserved the win here however since this fight his wrestling has improved by leaps and bounds
Like varner said, Legget is a "C" fighter. Not a convincing win over a "C" fighter. Ok it's been years, he's improved. He wont win against the Champ thursday night.

Anthony Pettis has really good ju-jistu but could'nt infuse that in his game because of the power of Sherron Leggetts wrestling. Good fight cant wait for Pettis to fight agian in the wec, his last fight was sick

The takedowns alone were enough for Anthony to lose this fight, in my opinion. Home crowd advantage to Anthony who didn't score one takedown. Anthony dod a good job with the elbows fighting up from the bottom. His guard is good. His escapes led to more guard for him. I tend to disagree with the judges.
Hard to give Anthony that round. Over all I think it was a close fight. (Can understand the contoversy.)Anthony, need to see you unleash some hell like we know you can in the rematch.(good job defending the RNC). You certainly proved you could handle him on the ground and defend yourself at his game and clearly he did'nt want to stand with you. Good job both fighters.
