my uncle showed me and love in the first minute, well guys I know you don't care how old I am but I do have to say someday I gonna show this to my grandchildren no matter if I can't remember to wear cloth or whatever I MUST show this
Hmm . . . a few young young 'uns listening to Jethro Tull? - that's great that they're not all rotting their brains away with X-Factor-type shows . . .
Jethro Tull, The Minstrel Looks Back 1969-1977 2DVD features concert footage from Tampa 1976, London Hippodrome 1977, Beat Club 1970 plus rare footage from Thick as a Brick/Passion Play tours more info available at Tommygunvideo please see our youtube channel for link/clips/more details
I first heard this song in 2003 when I was 7 years old, from my dad listening to it. This song will be my inspiration as I grow up from the teen I am today, to the old man I will once be
if you notice the lyrics they are kind sad they talk about an old rocker which friends are now married with kids and sports car so the he get on his bike to make a tune before he leave as he flies tears on his eyes his wind whippet words echo down the street and then he Dies.
I first heard this in 1978 when I was in 9th grade. We would wait for the late bus and it blasted from the gym. I have been trying to find this song for 30+ years. I thought they were saying 'rockin' robin'. I knew it was a Tull song but no one ever knew what I was talking about.
Last night I found it on youtube, thank you for this song!!
Watching Ian is like watching a rock in roll Shakespearean play he and the band, is so outstandingly original that I would love to go back to school and learn about English literature and old world England with a rock in roll face. He must be the pied piper of rock.
Sting completely pinched the scene where he pops out of the ship's chimney from Tull -- I think Sting's song was "All This Time" -- A very good song from Stingus, but Ian and crew were the first for that piece
the fact is that when you get "Rocked" no matter on what, its also nice to rock out on nice melow and soft tune, hard rock is great but every now and then melow out and be happy !!! seriously is feels great !
I´m 17, so maybe I can´t completely appreciate meaning of this song, but I have to say I like it very much. I probably do not know anybody who sings as awesome as singer (Ian I hope).
I heard this song first when I was 17. Now I'm 52, and I think, I'm never too old to rock and roll, but always too young to die -a they are! Jethro Tull forever! I love you!
@Babocska007 I heard them when I was still in Grade school at the age of 13 yrs. I was already a fan of Rock music then listening to Rolling Stones, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, The Kinks, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Eric Clapton (Derek and the Dominoes), etc. I listened to all kinds of music as I got older and nothing beats the music of 70's and 80's. Very few bands today are in the same league of music back then.
retarded video. takes away from the profoundness of the song. amazing song, though. i love Tull. got to see them at Freeborn Hall in Davis. loudest and one of the best concerts i've ever seen. they do put on a themed stage show, but it wasn't this silly and inane.
