  • Sabine from management said they would be putting cards in the room at turndown about reef protection and that the Island would be having a magazine printed in numerous languages but neither seem to have really happened.

The dive school were amazing and really reef concious, just a shame couldn't be said for fellow guests. We are hoping to go to Angaga or Velidhu next year so will be interested to see how the reefs are doing.

  • Yeah, that trumpet fish was amazing! I've never seen anything like it before and he wasn't frightened by me at all - just happily swam around munching on the tiny fish!

I totally agree with your last comment - it is such a shame! I wonder whether people do it through ignorance or just don't care. I did think there could be more signs up to make people aware of what happens when they knock into the coral.

  • You have some amazing pics there and love the yellow trumpet fish vid!

We went to Vilamendhoo in May and I saw lots of broken coral where people had stood on it. I even emailed pictures to the management and told them they are not doing enough to stop it. It's a shame that a few will end up spoiling it for so many.
