ya couldnt really tell which deck was twilight besides the CCV.

And yes it was techinally a misplay at 3:12 .but in casual play why would they declare phases?

When he said "Attack" - He couldn't have activated Threatening Roar - since you are already in the battle phase, you cant make them skip the battle phase they are already in.

you can chain to the start, as soon as he declares an attack you can chain roar

Actually, when he declares an attack, you can chain roar, but the initial declared attack resolves. Then the opponent can't use other monsters to attack. If you want roar to work on the initial monster, you have to activate it before the declared attack.

The thing is, people don't say when they are ending their main phase and entering their battle phase. That is what he chained roar to, not the attack. the other guy attacked to fast for him to declare a response. So all the monsters attacks would be negated.

Yeah, that's true. Though officially you need to chain at the start of the battle phase, and not the attack, but in casual play, it doesn't matter

then officaly u have to call batlle phase cuz if u just attack random u can chain T roar

roar has to be activated once they start the battle phase but no one plays with phases so it would have to be when they first declare an attack
