This is one of those games you either love or hate. If you are a hardcore gamer looking for a challenge, look elsewhere. If you love the Evil Dead movies and shlock horror in general, this game is a lot of fun. The play was pretty basic, not a little non-challenging at times, the graphics were fair though far from spectacular, and the story was pure horror goodness. Overall, a not bad game-two and a half out of four stars.

Last month they released a new game for the iPhone and iPad called Army Of Darkness Defense. It's pretty sweet! Some may argue that an iPod app doesn't count as a game in the series, but it's an official title so I guess I consider it to be the fifth Evil Dead game, but that's just me.

No. Regeneration was made after this game. This game also supposedly follows the continuity of the films but Regeneration takes place in an alternate storyline from the movies where Ash never traveled to the past.

Also, I gotta say, Ash is lookin' good for a guy who is close to or in his fifties.

Blah, Evil Dead: Regeneration is a way better game than this. Not to say that this game is absolutely horrible, but it's not the greatest game there is.

A knife? Why video games based on the universe of Evil Dead get something wrong. For example, in the " a fistul of boomstick", he didn't cut off his arm with a knife, he cut it with a chainsaw. And in Regeneration, in the intro Ash says that they unleashed the evil again by "reading" the necronomicon, they didn't read it, they played the TAPE! xD

i can't decide which is my favorite..even though it's a series they all seem like their own film..the first 1 was strictly horrow, then the 2nd added a little goofyness into the mix while still keeping the horror and the third 1 seemed more of an action/comedy than horror/slapstick and while the 35d 1 is awesome it always amazes me that it's the most popular in the series..

My favourite is the 2nd one. I guess Army of Darkness is considered more popular because it's a good movie for a wider audience where as the first two are masterpieces for more specific groups.

Around here, the original ED is only shown after midnight if it's ever on tv at all, the 2nd is never seen on tv because of the rights problems and the 3rd one has been shown on Saturday noon, the time when they often show kids films.

AoD is just more easily welcomed by people and it is a good movie.

I really enjoyed this game. the only thing that annoyed me was all the deadites keep keep coming after you which regenaration got right but killing just the ones you came into contact with. But this game was better and more fun I thought this story was allot better as well.
