This has to be one of Margo's best moments! Classic comedy and great cast. Margo has some fabulous lines in this series, infact it could be argued she stole the show. Great comic timing. I still crack up laughing despite knowing every line verbatim.
@qantasCapt ....and it's interesting that she had voice only "scenes" in the very first episode. All other TV snob characters pale into insignificance beside Margo as far as I am concerned. The Wind-Break War is a classic episode and this scene is one of it's many, many highlights!
She is a comic genius. This is just a theory, but maybe she is funny because it is almost like a woman doing drag of a woman. Drag is funny done by man or woman.
Amazingly the BBC often shows a version that has part of this scene cut out. It cuts from Margo saying 'kindly move my windbreak' to Mr Bailey shouting 'stop what you're doing' and also cuts out Margo putting her head around the door. So Mr Bailey gets the last word. It completely ruins the episode.
I like the one where they do "The Sound of Music" and Margot sings "when the shark bites" instead of "when the dog bites". I can just see a fin slicing through the eidelweiss!!
I watched British comedies on PBS while growing up in the 70s. I developed a big crush on Penelope Keith. I found her tall, beatiful and elegant and I loved the accent and attitude.
i keep thinking about this woman's grubby cunt....

I've always felt that Penelope Keith had the best comic timing of the cast.

when you are old enough to erect, you erect!
Mr. Bailey BTW is in the film MRS. PALFREY AT THE CLAREMONT with Joan Plowright.

I wonder if Mr. Bailey still knows French? Wally is cute.
Little Britain should have Keith on their show. She's a laaaaady!
