Does anyone else have a glitch when they are in that last maze thing before the flag where when they step on that first single block they dont automatically fall through and there's like an invisible block there? this stupid glitch is screwing me over
The first time I saw "BEHIND YOU" It scared the shit out of me and I has to stop playing. Sometimes it dosent even say anything.. just a black screen.
dear god, level 8 is driving me insane. the looping and the breakaway floor, you can't even kill yourself, it tortures you endlessly. it stares at you with its unblinking eyes, watching you go that one step further then striking you down. making you start from the beginning every time a minor error.
Such macro-cosmic malevolence that it has inflected upon my mind in these last 2 hours of playing it, singing the sounds of madness in my ears, UNSTOPPING!
only thing that keeps happening to me is that it won't let me fall through the single hole in the very bottom, I can walk over it and nothing happens :O
Oh...for those who have trouble getting the last gems, there is actually an eversion point near the end in that little maze part which also, when everting, gets rid of that autoscrolling. This allowed me to make "100% gems, no deaths" run on this level considerably easier.

yeah theres a good ending. Remember that axe that was thrown away by Bowser? It's to your right. the closer you get to it Peach will plead for you not to touch it. the your within reaching distance she will instantly turn evil and lunge towards you. If you make it to the axe you will cleave her in two. Another princess falls from the sky and thanks you. however Mario sticks the axe in her head and leaves.

I'm going to be the odd one out and say that this game was an enjoyable descent into lunacy, and it's something that I would definitely inflict on poor Mario if I had any game modding skill whatsoever. >:)
Most of the game didn't bother me that much, though it was pretty eerie. The one thing that did bother me, though, was one startup screens after you die - the one that says "MOTHER". I have no idea why, but it sends a little shiver down my spine every time I see it...

What I love about this game is it's not simply a platformer, it's a descent into madness. It didn't just scare me, it really left me feeling disturbed after I was finished with it. Such a masterfully crafted game...
I know right? I jumped at 4-1 though and just quit it because I couldnt take it anymore with the red hands popping up and having to play it being paranoid.

There ACTUALLY is an eversion point in the Maze part of this level. Top path, lower area, near the blood wall.

Really the only hard part of this level is the end where you have to jump/fall through those tiny openings. Otherwise it's pretty easy.
