@mercenarieboy Well your claim is pretty misplaced. The first Human Ship appeared in the episode Prometheus in Agust 2002, and was filmed well before that. And the closest ship, and it resembles in Halo are the frigates and even then a quick glance can show you their different. Plus the Frigates first appeared In Halo 2 which didn't come out for 2 more years. And again, even then, the ships look nothing alike aside from having wider portions at the rear where engines are housed.

It don't rly matter, they would just fire some drones, the drones would go strait through the shields and take out the Ori no probs. And with 3 zps I doubt the Ori would even begin to damge the shield before they would be destroyed.

The new episode of Atlantis screws that theory all around though, the Replicators fire drones that only hit the shield and explode, they don't pass through like I was led to believe. In some episodes an ancient ships launches a few drones and takes out entire Hive Ships, in the new one they slug it out for several minutes.

I think the ancient ships don't use solely drones...a lot of shots they fired were from energy weapons, and if you look closely, they used the same energy weapons in Progeny when the replicator city was wiped out...And why am i saying this? the yellow things they fired were much faster then drones..so in most of the be all my sins remember'd battle we saw energy weapons and not drones. And i think asgard shields can hold off drones, while Goa'uld shields can't, because they suck:D

Why wouldn't they be using drones? They are ancient warships, and in every episode that we've seen with an Ancient warship, drones were fired.

They also said in the mission briefing that they'd be firing drones from the surface. AND their version of Atlantis shot drones too, it doesn't make sense for them to make their warships shittier lol

I didn't say that they weren't i just said that not ONLY drones...have you ever wandered what were those gunlike things one the side of the Aurora class ships? and they couldn't use only drones, because they have to shoot with something if they run out...or check out the part when the f-302s and darts attack one of the ships. if those wre drones it fired, they wouldn't just fly in a straight line, but wipe out those fighters in seconds.

It caused my mod team a lot of pain in the ass to develop a different aurora version which fires similar shots:D

I agree that there had to be both, because many of the shots they fired were dumbfire, and when John takes out the replicator ship they fire drones that intercept his.

NO you dont understand, drones arent going ot be exactluy the same as the ones used in the pilot and sg1, The ones fired from ships are probaly controlled at the bridge and have no indaviduel control but there is a chair room were the chair operator can fire a dozen drones and control them with the ancient gene

That wouldn't change their ability to rapidly destroy Hive Ships though, although I see what you're saying about the chair.

Then again, when the Replicator ship blocks several of John's drones with its own, that must have been individually controlled.

well, what i mean is the chair has its own arsenal of drones that can be individually controlled then theres the main weapon fired from the bridge which is a hundred drones pointed in the same direction, which is like used for hive ships.

now, hive ships might not blow up, remember there organic, so there isent going to be much of an electrical explosion or secondry explosions unless its in the fighter bay, so 5 or 6 drones fired at the hive will probaly not blow it up but damage badly.

But it won't make sense if they have a system that operates with and without the ATA gene. Drones are designed to operate by the users command, that's why you see drones doding nd maneuvering so much. My guess is that the bridge can release drones at will, but if you want them aimed, then the chair is where you need to be. otherwise having the chair in the first place is useless.

Yes thats what i was thinking, the bridge has a drone control but i cant fire at ships, instead it fires directly at large ships, the chair is used for fighters and when u want to pin point it at something

you know, that laves an unanswered question. If the drones are controlled by the chair, and the bride fires massive amounts whereas the chair can maneuver smaller groups, why dosen't atlantis have that system? It is clear that the only way to fire drones on atlantis is through the chair. And to that, how do the Replicators fire drones? the only way the travellers did it was through an interface with john and i doubt they found a human with the ATA gene before "Prodigy". maybe the ancients.

The reason why is because nukes don't arm till it reaches a minimum safe distance from the target, so it doesn't blow up in the launchers faces and damages them. Hunt for Red October explained the same thing with torpedoes in a submarine battle.

Yes they could have deactivated it and there would possibly have been enough space between the collisions to not hurt the Earth ship, but they didn't have time to go through all of the warheads and deactivate the nukes, because the Mother Ships were already on their way to Earth.
