@danielvutran When there's a variety and ample choice between the two, then no, there's nothing wrong with them. When they're the ONLY games hailed as major successes by the masses, then they lose most, if not all, value to the longevity of gaming.

We've got dozens of Call of Duty clones, and yet next to nothing with a meaningful story or elegant (Read: stylized and fitting) setting. It's all about dirt browns and russian terrorists, aliens, and evil demons. Black and white, nothing inbetween.

@Foxxie0kun I was only commentating about the reflex part in battle systems. You just made it seem as if reflex based battle systems were somewhat negative in comparison to 'strategy.' Which btw back in olden days, 'strategy' consisted of healing / prot. / shell / slow / etc, most rpgs had the same idea. Though I'll agree that most games today (the popular ones) follow the same formula. It could be argued that it was the same back then. This generation = FPS. Last = RPG. Although myself = SRPG.

You see, My old laptop was where I put all my transcriptions and scores of songs from many musicians ranging from Kyle Landry to Zohar but it suffered a complete system failure and it apparently wiped the memory clean but I will try to look for it again. I'll tell you if I do find it, no promises though.
