Thank you very much for finding a way to explain it so simply. I've been bashing my head at this for a bit, and finally you brought it together for me. Kudos sir!
Thanks dude, but sometimes i trip up over your words "Now Lets try the E minor 6th major 7th dimished 12th sustained B sharp evaluated half step monotone vibrato staccato harmonic 8th pentatonic 4th" ...... o_O
A very thorough explanation of the major scale and its intervals.
I'm surprised by the comment at 8:37 - in fact plenty of other scale types have a whole step between the fourth and fifth tones. For example, natural, harmonic and melodic minor all do.
After watching this, one thing that i don't quite understand is how to start the major sale on a different scale. This helped a little with it but after google and youtube, i couldn't find anything on it starting on different strings/positions.
Frankly i havent taken any classes and have been reading off the web only.I understand that this shld be pos 4 more likely to be based around the E shape Barre.. cagEd.. the 4th..
Could you also tell us about mixing the scale position so tha you can really play over all the fretboard without changing the Keys ;).. thanks a bunch
Thanks Andrew. Its really nice to have someone teaching who knows all the ins and outs. Most youtube teachers are decent players, but are lacking in knowledge.

to all of you who know the minor scale better, you can use that scale when you play major as well.
You just take the minor scale of the key and move it three frets down.
So if you play solo in E major for example, you can play the minor scale of C#.
great video though :)

i love the intro improve, but i noticed you don't stay in the same area as where the Ionian mode is played, is it just an octave higher or what?
TasteForDisaster 10 months ago
@TasteForDisaster any scale or mode can be played on many places on the fret board.
