Wow I was born in 1971 and love this guy. I memba' sitting on my dad's lap in the 70's listening to him. A great singer and person. Thanks Roger!!!! We are so blessed in America....
Nice to see .A new discovery for me.Thanks for the video.I grew up with Roger's 8 tracks in my dad's '68 Parklane and still hum his tunes at work today.
Roger had NBA 3-point shooting range in hoops as well. ;D I think that he could just about anything when it came to music or comedy. They really broke the mold when they made that bloke, IMO.
he often seemed to play the clown maybe to get noticed or get attention or hide his nervousness who knows. but underneath it all a brillant singer songwriter and guitarist rock on forever roger.....
this Has to be 1964 or later, because the jaguar was first issued in 1962,but the blackface fender amps were'nt fully on the market til 1964.great video tho.
@smackzed that's cool. i always like listening to roger miller in the bar and loudly singing along after i've had a few. my friends seem to get a kick out of it.
Please will someone make a movie about this man? You can cast Luke Wilson--a Texas boy (close to OK) with some resemblance. Fine someone for Owen to play and you'll have a monster hit.
Roger Miller was indeed one of the most talented artists ever: Eleven Grammys and the Broadway Tony Award. Many artists got their inspiration and start by listening to him.
BTW, this video cannot be before 1962, because Gene Davis is playing a Fender Jaguar, which came out in '62.
I have to agree with the above poster, Roger was the best at everything he tried. If he was still with us his talents would still be climbing... The man even wrote the musical score for a hit Broadway play. No limits..
you are right... talent beyond belief and classification... some of roger's uniqueness may have been what held him back a little... in a time when everyone else was wearing rhinestones and wearing long hair, roger was living in vegas and wearing tuxedo's... reminds me of the way bobby darin defied classification as well...
HE HAS A DEMONIC LAUGH! MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Talent beyond belief. And for all his unmatched comic ability, he wrote some of the darkest, deepest, ballads a heart could stand.
"Big Harlon Taylor," "One Dyin' and a Buryin'."
In fact this may be the greatest American artist that America has too much amnesia about.
