  • One of my all time favorite country music artists. LOVE it. He was truely multi talented. You don't see many like him anymore.

  • I love the appreciation he gets from bandmates. I love the looks on their faces.

  • I was so sorry when we lost Roger Miller. He was (is!) a favorite of my whole family. Thanks for the sweet video, something new for me.

  • What an amazing talent Roger Miller was and is. Truly a legend in country and popular music.

  • weird and very talented guy, i love his music.

  • Nice to see .A new discovery for me.Thanks for the video.I grew up with Roger's 8 tracks in my dad's '68 Parklane and still hum his tunes at work today.

  • I wish this ran longer! Oh well I guess!

  • The numbers are mixed up, I guess, this must be 1965, instead of 56 ;-)

  • Wow!!! I didn't know he was a fiddle player - wish this video was longer. What a great multi-talent, gone too soon.

  • Roger had NBA 3-point shooting range in hoops as well. ;D I think that he could just about anything when it came to music or comedy. They really broke the mold when they made that bloke, IMO.

  • He wasnt a fiddle player...he only knew how to play one song...Orange Blossom Special....lol...

  • Thanks - I didn't know that - wish I could play one fiddle tune that well.

  • They didn't need to add the Munsters laugh track, otherwise it is excellent!

  • right there where i keep my watermellons

  • Good ol' Roger! Great.

  • Roger Miller, what a guy! Just another proof of his seemingly endless talent.

  • he often seemed to play the clown maybe to get noticed or get attention or hide his nervousness who knows. but underneath it all a brillant singer songwriter and guitarist rock on forever roger.....

  • that is some hot stuff

  • I never knew he could play the fiddle, and what a great job!

  • this Has to be 1964 or later, because the jaguar was first issued in 1962,but the blackface fender amps were'nt fully on the market til 1964.great video tho.

  • Never knew he could play the fidle and that well.

  • Always adorable, always hilarious, always talented. Roger Miller.

  • let's all watch roger get stupid talented on the fiddle...what an amazing talent!!!!

  • love this video. like many other posters i didn't know roger played the fiddle. what a tremendous under-appreciated artist.

  • @donkeykidtim I think I read that he started at the grand ol opry as a fiddle player for Minnie Pearl

  • @smackzed that's cool. i always like listening to roger miller in the bar and loudly singing along after i've had a few. my friends seem to get a kick out of it.

  • holy shit, its like the guy cant help but play good music.

  • I never knew he could play the fiddle til now, what a talent he was, R.I.P.

  • Please will someone make a movie about this man? You can cast Luke Wilson--a Texas boy (close to OK) with some resemblance. Fine someone for Owen to play and you'll have a monster hit.

  • I never knew Roger Miller could play the fiddle!

  • Roger Miller was indeed one of the most talented artists ever: Eleven Grammys and the Broadway Tony Award. Many artists got their inspiration and start by listening to him.

BTW, this video cannot be before 1962, because Gene Davis is playing a Fender Jaguar, which came out in '62.

  • Thanks for the Roger Miller vids..

I have to agree with the above poster, Roger was the best at everything he tried. If he was still with us his talents would still be climbing... The man even wrote the musical score for a hit Broadway play. No limits..

  • Talent beyond belief. And for all his unmatched comic ability, he wrote some of the darkest, deepest, ballads a heart could stand.

"Big Harlon Taylor," "One Dyin' and a Buryin'."

In fact this may be the greatest American artist that America has too much amnesia about.

  • you are right... talent beyond belief and classification... some of roger's uniqueness may have been what held him back a little... in a time when everyone else was wearing rhinestones and wearing long hair, roger was living in vegas and wearing tuxedo's... reminds me of the way bobby darin defied classification as well...

  • Damn he has talent!!!

  • This man had incredible gifts of talent.

    Tedi

  • Man, this is awsome...And I never knew he played fiddle...He had a great laugh didn't he?...

  • LAMO! Glad I'm not the only one who didn't know he played fiddle!

  • this can't be 1956, must be early sixties - guitar player is playing a Fender Jaguar which wasn't made in the fifties...what show is this from?

  • wow he was so talented

  • Yes please do post more of Roger Miller! He was a true artist/ comedian! The BEST!!!!

  • a true talent he was.

  • God I love Roger Miller. So funny!!

  • how in the world did you find this... thanks so much!!!
