hey how do you make the bayonet that sharp i have one but its not sharp like that it cant even cut paper and i put it in and out of the sheat like 100 times and its still not sharp
You can get an extended M7 for an Ar-15 16 inch upper that is reverse compatable with a 20 inch upper. You never sharpen a bayonet, they are not made for that.
@RICHIECONRAD lol, sure you do, when you do an assault into paper land, there's a lot of paper to cut, so you sharpen the bayonet and attach it to a 15.5" barrel to cut paper with.
owner of numerous ars this is stupid having a bayonet that doesnt even fit on rifle doesnt look mean looks stupid can tell people like this have never been in combat idiot oh im cool i own a ar
@jaylamaire1010 actually owning one in a private civilian use setting is the only place a bayonet makes sense. Its great for home defense if you where gonna use your rifle for that in close rage. I cant see any military use for it other than opening cans and such lol.
the M7 bayonet was actually designed to fit the M16 20 inch barrel. the M4 and other AR-15 carbines are adapted to fit the existing bayonets (M7) properly
you could get your barrel cut down to 14.5" and have a 2" flash hider permantly attached. ADCO does it for a good price and they are a top notch company.
The reason why the bayonet dosent fit is becouse it was made for a 14 1/2 inch barrel while legaly you have to 16'' barrel unless you have a liscense for a SBFA or Short Barrel Fire Arm
The bayonet ring is designed to fit over the flash hider of a standard AR-15/M-16 or a military M-4 with 14.5" barrel. The civilian AR carbines with 16" barrel are too long for the bayo ring to line up with the flash hider. Bushmaster does make a 14.5" barrel with an extra long "Izzy" flash hider and bayonets will attach properly on those barrels.
i'm not sure, but i think the M7 bayonet is built to be used with a 20 inch or a 14.5 inch barrel. you may not have the right license for a 14.5 inch barrel, but you should be able to find a 20inch fairly easily and be able to use it legally. nice rifle though. wouldn't mind getting an AR-15 for myself
Sorry to say but what you have there will not fit your rifle or any 16" barrels. Bayonets are for the 14.5, mid-length, and 20" standard rifle. It is useless if you dont have any of these. Bayonet lug on
16' are standard to save manuf cost on not to take it out! Pretty much useless I say!
$50 bucks is a bit much for that bro i got mine for $20 at an army navy store in Florida and on government liquidations u can get 50 of these for $200 on a good auction
AR15 with a 16" barrel (carbine)will be loose because it does not have the proper length. What you want is a 20" barrel an it will fit perfectly. No tax stamp needed.

You can have your barrel cut, crowned, and threaded at 14.5" then have you flash hider permanently attached. I had my AR done for $105.

But, the military has found that the 14.5" barrel of the M-4 is too short to get good terminal ballistics from the ammunition they issue (M-855).
So the 16" AR carbines actually give a little better performance over the M-4.
