I agree. There are definitely some good ones in the later games (Reptile's "Face Eater" from MK4, for example), but MKII is where it was consistently cool. Subtle little things like when Baraka impales you and lifts you up, then you slide down his blades and then there's a little muscle spasm at the end... Sweet. Even the "boring" fatalities are still pretty good, like when Jax rips off someones arms... not exactly gruesome, but pretty brutal in a more simple way.
@defwack I would say that Deadly Alliance probably had the most brutal fatalities. (Scorpion ripping someone's head off with his spear, Kano ripping out some organs, Sonya's deadly kiss causing people to vomit blood and organs)
Ha ha, yeah, that's NOT the music I put in the video when I made it. The music I put in is a cover of Black Sabbath's song "Supernaut" and it fits perfectly with the video. YouTube's copyright filter thing edits out that song and puts in some other legal song instead. This music-replacement thing sucks, but at least it's not Spice Girls.
Back in the day it was a lot of experimenting, plus any hints that we could find in game magazines. My buddy and I were so into MKII that we made our own little wallet-sized code booklets to carry around and use as a reference in the arcades. After a while, we didn't need them anymore though, and most of these moves were committed to memory.
I remember buying gaming mags just so we could find out the fatalities and playing the games with those magazines at our sides. And dammit if I didn't make my own code sheet, like you did :D
So where can i buy the dolls.... wait i mean action figures from 1:38 to 1:44

This is when the fatalities were badass. With MK3 they got a bit ridiculous.
