This was just held last week in Wyandotte, OK. It is held at that time every year. Save up over the course of the next year as there are a lot of vendors you will want to buy stuff from too. Just search for D-Day Adventure Park and that will take you to the page where there is a link to the forums from there. You will learn a lot on the forums. My son just got back from it and had a blast. If I could have gone I would have. I had such fun shooting video. There are 3000-4000 players total.

@ProtestantIRA There are about 10,000 that go to D-Day and about 4000 of those are players. Not all players participated in the civil war battle so it is hard to say how many there were. But it is fun to watch. :)

I've played blackpowder rifle style before. You don't run a hopper and load each shot one at a time. It's really hard with gloves. Developing a system where you get to em' easy without them spilling everywhere is hard too.

2 things to make this even more badass.

1- the dead have to fall and stay in place when shot.

2.- get some people with fake cannons shooting blank powder and as they go off, have somebody launching paint ballons out of a big sling shot.

no because once you put medics into the game you don't know if someone with paint splattered all over their chest was revived or actign as he was. So basically the implication of medics would implicate cheating, which ruisn the fun of the game

@jilb07 Too much of a danger hazard. Have you seen the clips of the beach landings? 30+ guys spilling over one path, what if those four guys in front dropped "dead?" Also, people would get shot in the crossfire (paintballs curve everywhere, you know), not to mention the likelihood of people cheating by "playing dead."

The other team (Germans I'm guessing) were so outnumbered the allies (I'm guessing) could have just swarmed over them, or at least make a defensive position at the pipes, instead of breaking and running. But your right it was pretty cool having so many markers firing. How many players? The Skirmish D-Day battle in Pennsylvania had over 4,000!

It's just realistic. The allies had many more numbers than the Germans, but the Germans had artillery and mg-42 nests all over the beach, and were at a tactical advantage.

Cool. Glad you were in there. I just wish I had been able to go this year. I sure missed it. Until I transfer all my videos to DVD's though I can't take a chance that my vid camera will crap out totally. I already can't see anything on the flip out viewing screen. That quit working after the first year of shooting OKDDay. So it makes it a lot harder when I can only film while having my eye up to the eyepiece.
