  • it diden't look like that hard of a hit was he wering a hans? I gotinthe same senerio but a hanssaved my life from whiplash

  • Can you spot the internet douchebag?

  • safer barrier is a good thing. plain and simple.

  • How many times has Homestead Miami Speedway been reconfigured?

  • I Did Not Know Joe Had A Brother. I feel Bad For Joe He Probelby Did Not wear The Hans Device Like Earnhardt Bc That Looked Like A Simple Wall Hit To Me?

  • Thank God so much now for SAFER barriers and safer race cars.

  • @KennySVG I would be pissed if I was the track designers. Work years to improve saftey at race tracks. Save countless lives only to have people thank god for it. Give a thanks to the real people who do these things please.

  • No barrier , no Han's ,drivers side.... no chance. RIP. GOD bless.

  • That really wasn't a hard hit at all.

  • @LewisPearceYaussy yea, but they didn't have the protection cars, trucks etc... have today.

  • To think he died the exact day I was born...

  • Dale didn't wear protective gear under his chin area, he just had his goggles and helmet, so his jaw smashed up into his face when he hit the wall.

  • The fatal crashes always look so minor. It's a bit unsettling.

  • Did'nt look like he hit all that hard..

  • @MrGroovy888 its not always how hard or fast you hit the wall, its HOW you hit, the angling and the type of safety equipment back in the 90's pre hans and safer barrier were the key reasons

  • I love how people who have commented have no idea how Dale or John croaked. May as well say "Yeah, John shouldn't have left that loaded 10 gauge along side of his shifter. It was bound to go off with an impact like this eventually".

    Thank god for safer barriers.

  • I would like @benbaileymusic 's comment but it has 69 likes

  • usally crashes like these the break open theyre skull lik dale earnheardt

  • all the fatal crashes dont look to bad but they hit the wall at the wrong angle and thats it

  • @SrgScream much like Earnhardt's crash at Daytona, a lot of ppl thought it wasn't a horrible looking crash but had no idea the sudden injuries.

  • I was waiting for someone to come blasting into view and hit him.

  • yes a good family and a excellent driver , he is missed

  • And his brother Joe won the at some track later and devoted his win to his late brother.

  • Not to be grotesque, but what exactly were his injuries? If any one knows.

  • @gsxrbuckeye Skull fracture. Same thing that killed Earnhardt Sr.

  • Feel bad for the Nemechek's, Joe isnt always competitive, but hes a class act

  • This is why i always cheer for Joe

  • @kingmatt334

Lol, John Nemechek, who has been dead for 14 years, is still talked about more than Joe. This is probably because John's head made a lasting impact on the side of his truck while Joe has let to make a lasting impact in the sport. Get owned noob.

  • @Ashair29 why do you have to be an asshole?

  • @kingmatt334 u mad bro?

  • @Ashair29 yea im mad. you disrespected the Nemech3ck family. i hate disrespectful assholes

  • @kingmatt334 cool story bro

  • @Ashair29 joe nemechek is A LOT richer than you'll ever be. funny how you make fun of him, despite his life being 2 times better than yours.

  • @osubuckeyes14 Its funny, because I am probably alot richer than you, so by your logic, my life is better than yours

  • @Ashair29 Who gives a fuck have some respect.

  • RIP

  • i cant believe it took nascar so many decades to say "hey people keep dying when they hit these fuckin concrete walls, why not make them FLEXIBLE?!!"

  • @C0LL1N First not all HANS devices are the same different motorsports need different HANS devices and some use different material than others use. Second ther SAFER barrier wasn't invented until 2002 but research started in 1998. So next time research something before u go off.

  • @ryannewman4life1 my point is that research should have began long before 1998

  • That don't looks so fatal.

    RIP John Nemecheck

  • R.I.P john nemecheck

  • I'm so glad that I would not have to worry about stuff like this. Although I am just a fan of the sport. RIP John Nemechek and all the other drivers who lost their lives.

  • they reconfigured the track because of this accident.

  • RIP

  • I liked this version of Homestead the best

  • Is John nemechek Joe nemechek brother or father?

  • @legolordman younger brother

  • @legolordman

    Brother

  • did he die because of a heart attack? that was harldy an impact at all.

    watch his. /watch?v=2r5Eo5Cg-4M&lc=2xdx7_OwBKzmcvgZTFtscZH9pZB1IHlBFSuA2Z0QU5w&feature=inbox

and he survived and became first one year later on the same track.

  • @swunt10 I suppose it was internal head injuries because of the whiplash during the impact. No hans device back then to keep the neck and head fixed, especially in such a car.

  • How about this, EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP! NASCAR/Indy is retarded because all you see is a bunch of cars going around in an oval waiting for a wreck to happen, and this is coming from a NASCAR fan. F1 is retarded because you pretty much know who is going to win about 75% through the race with the exception of Monaco and Fuji. The lack of exciting finishes is why only true fans of F1 like it and fucking retards dis it with no reasoning. If anything watch Super GT, it is F1 and NASCAR combined ;)

  • @LastMartinFanLeft I agree with the nascar/indy comment , but been watching F1 for many many years now and have to disagree , F1 is all about been on the limit , and when u on the limit things can easy go wrong , seen many times the leader spin/crash/punture or even safty car to bunch them back up so its never over at 75% !

  • @dave311281 Thank you for pointing that out, I haven't watched an F1 race since 2004, so really my judgement cannot be trusted anyways...

  • ovals are SHIT...death traps, only seens in the USA because Americans HAVE to see all the action, not just the people, its the sponsors too.....their cars and logos are never out of view......OVALS are a true joke...boring left turns....its not racing its just laping....

  • @Lav25th1 Watch your crappy F1 with no action at all.

  • @ROBLOXdude95 seriously how dumb are you? the majority of americans are complete idiots, that is why there is always so many "exciting" crashes and deaths in nascar that all of you people like to see. THIS IS NOT RACING. drivers from other types of racing have soooo much more skill than nascar drivers. how else would they control cars at faster speeds around real corners and crash less? wow people like you are so ignorant

  • @AviTheBlader are u really that fucking stupid. you are a waste of air. i have no use for stupid fucks like you.

do us all a favor and take a shotgun put it in your mouth and pull the trigger you stupid fuck.

  • @jordan38r you wanna back that up? because all i saw in that comment was proving how stupid americans are. you just wrote a paragraph about calling me stupid with no reason in it. wow

  • @AviTheBlader Again, agreed 100%

  • @jordan38r get a life...

  • @AviTheBlader if it takes sooooo much more skill why do F1 drivers come race nasscar?

  • @LiveFreshBox umm not many do. most nascar drivers are just rednecks whose parents had enough money to get them into racing when they were kids

  • @AviTheBlader

Ya, that's why people come to Nascar is get their ass whipped. Montoya came from F1, he was a champion, right. I didn't see him win a Nascar Championship. Not that easy retard. Nascar drivers are the best drivers in the world. Get that shit straight.

  • @ussim603 Ok, tell me, how is doing boring left turns all day difficult? Can you tell me how that is more difficult than flying down a dirt or snow road that is slightly wider than your car at over 100 mph doing jumps? What about F1 where drivers are on a narrow track going over 200 mph pulling more than 5 Gs without even a roof over their heads? Yeah good luck trying to answer that...

  • @ussim603 dude he is right you gave no explanation for any of his questions you just ramble on trying to win the argument not bring a point like arguments are for, therefore you sadly are an idiot who cant accept he is wrong and sadly there is no cure for stupineness

  • @ussim603 Umm, no, Montoya never won a championship in F1. He did in Indycar though.

  • @ROBLOXdude95 Drivers dieing is not "action".....ovals are a slaughter, which takes little to no skill....oval racing is about set up and holding a line......oh and of course the lazy overwight crowd being able to see eveything without moving from their seat....

  • @Lav25th1 Of course I don't like driver's deaths but oval racing is the USA's choice. So shut your shithole.

  • @ROBLOXdude95 I never said you "like drivers deaths" moron. I said Ovals are death traps. For example Dan Wheldon....34 cars on a 1.8 miles oval....what a fukin joke....at best the public would refere to that as a traffic jam...at 220mph its a joke. Was the biggest field of the year on the last race, all so sponsors could have their moment. Get a life.

  • @Lav25th1 Agreed 100%

  • could be a broken neck R.I.P

  • Truck racing??? America!

  • It just doesn't look that bad????

  • Is that why the Homestead track's curves today are so wide? Or is that the backstretch?

  • RIP

  • stupid question is john the father or brother of joe?

  • @mulletsrule3388 John is Joe's little brother. Joe named his little boy John Hunter after him.

  • @Orangetree547 very touching tribute thank you for the info

  • He died 5 days later.

  • That's the worst kind of accident you can have on a track like that.

  • @mohawkman251988 definately...in those days there was nothing to stop you helmet from smacking the wall through the window net as the car hit the wall

  • I'm so glad I hear less stories like this than I did 10 years ago. We've lost too many great drivers to crashes like this. Thank God for the HANS device. SAFER barriers and all the other safety enhancements over the years. R.I.P. Blaise Alexander, Adam Petty, Dale Earnhardt Sr., Ayrton Senna, Neil Bonnett, Jim Clark, Kenny Irwin Jr., Bruce McLaren, Greg Moore, John Nemechek, Jochen Rindt, Henry Surtees, Gilles Villeneuve and All the others over the years.

  • @benbaileymusic that was the best comment man

  • @benbaileymusic dont forget Alan Kulwicki

  • @benbaileymusic Good point. Hans device and safer walls have helped big time. Unfortunately with motorsports, with the speeds involved, you never know what can and will happen. It's been a brutal 2 weeks for motorsports with the passing of Dan Wheldon and Marco Simoncelli. RIP. I was at a CART race in Michigan in the late '90's when Adrian Fernandez hit the wall in turn 4 and a wheel from his car went into the grandstand and killed 3 people! It was crazy! I think Greg Moore(RIP) won that race.

  • @RDM213 And Rick Huseman too.

  • @benbaileymusic

Thank god for HANS device??? Thank sience for it.

    >.<

  • Probably deserved to die. Wow. You're a pretty big scumbag.

BTW a bunch of those guys that were listed weren't NASCAR drivers. They all died of the same, or similar injuries. Check your facts.

  • @darraghk1989 It's funny, because half of them were Formula One type drivers or Indy drivers etc.

  • Thank you hans, for all the lives you save

  • Damn, its weird to see that this crash wasn;t that hard if you compare them to other f1 crashes wich ended up by a death driver.

How did he died?, sorry for asking but it looks kinda strange here.

The car got hit on the side, so his neck should be ok?

  • @Sanderrr1994"... he suddenly lost control of his truck and slammed into the Turn 1 wall driver's-side first, suffering major head injuries. He clung to life over the next five days before finally succumbing on March 21."-Wikipedia Just a guess, notice the height of the retaining wall, even with a window net and a helmet his head probably hit that concrete very hard. That was before the "wrap around" seats and "safer barriers" they have today.

  • @clintonearlwalker Thanks fo the info, May he rest in peace.

  • @Sanderrr1994 There have been several deaths in NASCAR where the crash doesn't look particularly massive, conversely, there have insanely massive crashes where the car is completely destroyed and the driver walks away or has minor injuries. Check out Geoff Bodine's crash at Daytona in a truck race, incredibly massive crash, (about the worst I've ever seen), yet he waves to the crowd as he's carried off on the stretcher.

  • @clintonearlwalker wtf, how can he survive that damn.

  • @Sanderrr1994 It was pretty amazing. I've watched nearly every NASCAR race for about 30 years on TV, including that one. They red flagged that race for about 3 hours after that. I've only been to 1 race, at Dover, Geoff Bodine won, it was before that crash though. One thing I've learned is that the "spectacularness" of a crash has nothing to do with driver injuries or death. I can think of about 5 "minor" looking crashes where the driver was killed.

  • @clintonearlwalker Damn, life is tough somethimes;)

  • @Sanderrr1994 Yeah, at those speeds you can't be hitting a concrete wall with your head. Those drivers know the risks, it's the chance they take. I ride a Honda Goldwing motorcycle and what gets me are all the idiots on motorcycles. I've seen hundreds of vids of crazy people doing insane things on a bike. I love to ride, but to a certain extent, you make your own risks.

  • @clintonearlwalker ye same goes for me, i drive go kart and i know a lot of people who died due crashes and stuff.

Its a risk u take, like u said before;)

  • Wow Homestead now looks wayyy different

  • @NASCAR24Maniac it was orginally opned to run cart races.

  • I wonder if the safer barriers prevents this death. I would imagine so.

  • No HANS device yet

  • Original Homestead track was one of the worst tracks ever made. A true piece of shit.

  • Ive never heard of this crash before

  • RacingAccidents--

What was the extent of his fatal injuries?

  • HOLY SHIT HE DIED 10 DAYS BEFORE I WAS BORN!! A LOT OF SHIT HAPPENS IN MARCH

  • @TeamHKSR33 Also 6 days before my friends b day

  • @XNascarBoyX lol like i said ALOT of shit happens in march :D

  • @TeamHKSR33 Young little fucker

  • @ISmashYoDadHead fuck you and your dildo -_-

  • @TeamHKSR33 Are you the new life of John?

  • @lifethelifetoday i wish, cuz then id kick ass and take names

  • can't believe this crash took his life. it looks like your average, everyday crash. i suppose its those that always fool ppl

  • @lilroo1985 Seems like the small ones do the most damage.. (Earnhardt, Nemechek...)

  • @RacingGames365 brother

  • @RacingGames365 John Nemecheck was born in 1970. Joe is born in 1963. So i GUESS, it won´t be NASCAR-Joe´s dad.

[Took me less then a minute on google]

  • Old rectangle homestead!!!!

  • @rampageriley99 lol good one..

  • WHY DISLIKE????

  • @granturismo5101 well there should be a worth watching or not worth watching button because clicking like on this video just dosnt seem right

  • To this day Joe carries a memorial decal for John on his cars.

  • Ovals are not supposed to look like rectangles.

  • @jerste This configuration was supposed to be a 1.5 mile version of Indy. After this incident, the track was reconfigured to an oval.

  • Started 13, finished 20, how is that possible?

  • @rosun82 They were in Miami. The 13-20 was Tucson results. Very possible.

  • why cant they position the drivers in the middle of the car, is it cos of the roll cage, it would make it weaker

  • @BlueBlazer89 You're forgetting about that thing in front of the driver. THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION! If the driver is in the middle, where do you locate those two imprtant parts?

  • @freewill51 f1 cars? mclaren f1 ? am i missing anymore ?

  • @BlueBlazer89 That is a different style of racing all together, man. This is built off of a Front Engine-Rear Wheel Drive car. Like what most people drive on the streets. That's what these cars and trucks are designed after, american street cars or trucks that we see every day. F1 is a race-only style car. The McClaren F1 is a super car. Not even in the same class or style of racing.

  • @ArmadeusXxC im just trying to make things safer, thats all

  • @BlueBlazer89 It's the style of race car. However now in the trucks, nationwide cars and cup cars the driver is more towards the center.

  • That old Homestead layout really resembled a small Indianapolis speedway i think...

  • @ursuss100 yes it was shaped like Indy. , I believe John hit drivers door first and that is never good, even to day with all the improvements.

  • this was my 3rd cousin

  • Thia track was reconfigured soon after. Joe Nemechek later named his son after his brother John.

  • jeez he died on my 15th birthday. RIP John Nemechek

  • @quasiphatpaul my b-day too bud.. i was one

  • they also reconfigured the window nets because his head actually hit the wall. I was there, you never heard 30,000 people so silent. By the way-it was John, not Joe

  • @420mjt the window net got there because of joe weatherly's death, in which he died the same way because it wasn't there.....

  • The reason they reconfigured the track was because of this accident. They felt that the way the turns banked in was a danger to the drivers.

    RIP Joe.

  • @skankuser they didn't really reconfigure it until after Kenny Irwin Jr and Adam Petty's wrecks

  • @erasetoimprove You're thinking of New Hampshire, and the track was reconfigured in 1997, well before Petty's and Irwin's wrecks.

  • @skankuser oops you're right forgot this wasn't New Hampshire.

  • @skankuser uh it is john not joe

  • Comment removed

  • @skankuser Yeah, Joe is still alive. I spoke to him last week!

  • @ArmadeusXxC why hasnt he been racing? its like i havent been seeing him in the cup races. or am i wrong? And why doesnt he finish they race?

  • @tazlepone Joe's qualified for every Cup race this year. Most of them he starts-and-parks due to a lack of $ponsorship.

  • @00andJoe Joe's taking Nationwide points this year.

  • @skankuser Ahem, *JOHN* lol

  • Comment removed

  • @ROBLOXdude95 Yes, I know, it was a brain fart at the time. I've been informed 20 times already. You can stop replying to it.

  • @skankuser john not joe

  • @skankuser Joe's still alive, dude. John's the one dead.
