Sweet, love this video. Accutly got my grandads thinkpad t22 with a faulty wireless card and i installed xp and my god it runs faster for a 900mhz proccesoor. Im accutly using now on dual monitors and it works good !
i got this "thinkpad t22" froma friend for free,he wanted to trash it cause it was bios locked and could not boot, and readed the "amtel cip" got the pass back and i have a free laptop now :D
my t30 could beat those laptops but then again the t30 is newer XD but it could beat most computers even though its hard drive is close-to-full and 256mb ram an a 1.8GHz P4M (pentium 4 m)
@Chalkeen It's not a good game PC today lol. Back in the day, those specs own. I currently own a T40 just for show now. It works but it needs a reflow for the graphics card. My main PC right now is the HP DV7 and it can max out L4D. The best laptops i know of comes from alienware currently. But you like the Thinkpad line, IBM sold it to Lenovo. So you can still find thinkpads at lenovo.
This guys dumb....The t23 had the new Tualatin based P3 cpu which was a HUGE step up, faster 133mhs FSB, Superior video chip, Newer chipset that can take 1gb RAM vs the old T22 can only have 512mb. Lots more....
it turns out windows xp proffesional on my thinkpad wont recognize my video adaptor.....so i cant run any programs....i tried the lenovo/IBM website but the drivers they give dont work. so i dont know what do to
You think when you unpackage the driver something would just pop up saying it's going to install? Correct? But in fact you have to go to your hard drive C: and look for drivers folder and keep double clicking video and when you scroll down you should be able to see the word install. This counts for all drivers Audio etc.
@naruto90123 what do you do when you start up your t23 and it goes to a screen that says something about safe mode or start windows normally then it goes to a blue screen and says its not working
@allen9182 Unless you can recall what happened before the problem happened, I'd fully ready the top of lines of the blue screen, and do a google search. Can you go into safe mode?
Granted, with the approach I'm suggesting, will require time spent to understand in the short term, but it pays off in the long term.
It really depends on how you explain it to people. If you can do it from their perspective, they generally come to see and agree with prevention, rather than continue with cures.
I've been testing this approach with my dad's XP Pro box for over a year now. No infections.

Learn to use Windows XP Pro by setting up a Limited User Account and using SuRun to elevate to Admin privileges as needed.
This allows you to abandon the need for Avast, Spybot, and any other anti-malware applications.
Nearly all malware out there requires you to run in Admin account. When you take that away, they can't do anything.
As you have XP Pro, you can enhance your protection by using Software Restriction Policy to blacklist file types you deem hostile.

Well thank you for the advise but for me having to deal with like other people's computer and dealing with virus, they think it's to complicated.
