A guy in Texas in 2001 did 60 hours in a spring fed lake. In the next couple of years, a guy in Tennessee has gone over a hundred hours. All on scuba. Being in salt water doesn't add any diffuculty to a dive, makes it easier where he was at, as it's a warmer temp. Wearing a rebreather, is even easier for him. The guys in "freshwater" had it rougher than this guy. You can Pee using a Pee valve with attachment, and drinking something is fairly easy.
That's just amazing. Even though he weas planning to stay under for a week, what Will did is simply incredible. I wonder how he drink the hot liquid underwater? Also, since he was 12 meters under, I wonder what his deco time was?
I am guessing he is going to try and break his own record sometime in the future.
As an avid scuba diver let me be the first to compliment him on attempt and let me also be the first to say that he.. umm ... what was the point? I think that although this is a record for dive duration it was not technically a dive. If you are not mentally awake and or halucinating it means that your are either suffering from nitrogen narcosis or not really setting a record with 50 divers making sure you dont drown while sleeping. I have to applaud his efforts though and great planning process
