@redskinscaps I actually used these hooks you can buy at home depot for around 1.00 a piece. Cheaper than buying a board mount kit online, Just find the studs behind the drywall and measure up from the floor at each hook point to ensure that they are level.
i just bought the handlebar kit, it comes with some extender pieces... but do I really only need that one piece with the circle space and the screws? awesome vid btw
@WorsDawg yeah it is the best for on mountain activity when it is cold, you can un-screw these wing nuts and flip the camera if you have to bro cam your friends in the park, then flip it when you wanna do some cool point of view shots.
@Mu5ik4Life yes it does get annoying carrying the pole while shredding, most people look at us funny, but when you stomp something on film with it, you will quickly forget their odd faces and will rush to edit render and upload your hard work with the gopro and pole
@bobomomo23 yes that can work, just make sure you tighten the screws snug. My friend just lost his gopro riding powder, no finding that one. it's a sad situation when you lose film, the device, and the SD card inside....all costly.
@GangsterSnazz this pole is 50 inches, great for filming friends but hard to hold up when self filming over a long period of time. we would say any where between 30 to 50 inches. ski poles work great, light weight and the wrist strap is fail safe if you drop it, which happens alot. just look at the Christmas skate edit...hit a pebble and down it went...
@basdevries27 zumiez white promo cap they gave me when I covered the Trans Am 2011, co sponsored by zumiez. not a fan of the store, but free gear is good gear if ya dig homey
@OzzysFilmProductions 16:9 ratio r2 (symbol on lcd screen) works best we think, but try both 4:3 ratio r3 (symbol on lcd screen) as well to see what works best for you, if your taller than go with the 4:3. good luck w all!
@EXPNVM thx man ya i saw those alrdy u do great stuff .. makes me not able to wait for next season.. i wanna snowboard so bad thx again keep up the great work
@miguelavier Greetings mate! I would say you could hold the pole mount GoPro and film yourself, but I would suggest attaching a flotation device to the camera or pole similar to the styles you would find on Jet Ski or Water Power Boat keys, and also finding a lighter pole or one that could float. I just self-filmed with a small bamboo piece, so anything can work. Fact: "whether or not a given object will sink or float in a fluid is determined by the buoyant force on the object." Good Luck!
@Wolv3rine19v2 Yes, either will work, but the electrical tape doesn't seem as sticky and is slippery when wet, the duct tape is stranded tape which gives it that gritty feel and we feel is more adhesive to the pole and helps when skiing or snowboarding.
@Wolv3rine19v2 The GoPro can get wet and even though waterproof, the last thing you want is your GoPro falling off while you are under high speeds or let's say for example carving through trees on the slopes. GoPros, Ipods, Car Keys all will be hard to find on the mountain or anywhere you are skiing or snowboarding when lost.
Check out the "2011 Bear Creek Showdown Rail Jam" video on our youtube channel to view Christian self filming with the 50 inch boom and then you can decide how much of your body you would prefer captured. .Happy GoPro-ing !
@sk14life Sorry mates! Totally mashed my sentences up, was on a 20 hour event/editing binge, this is the 50 inch boom, but must admit is a bit tricky to self film, the 30 inch one you had suggested would most likely be easier to use. The 50 is great for boom filming others for over head angles and its easy to pull back when someone or a board is flying towards you and the GoPro.
@EXPNVM Hey! u set up the gopro to Face the outside of the pole [so you can film other people].
Is there a certain setting where u could set up the camera this way that u could just flip it around -so it will face the "inside of the pole" so u could film yourself?
with this setting u show here, it doesnt seem like u could twist the camera to you this way...
@eladbari Greetings! You can easily flip the camera around by loosening the two plastic-head threaded screws only a few turns, 2 to 3 twists, then carefully slide the GoPro HD off and flip around, an re-tighten the screws provided in the pole mount kit. This literally takes a 30 seconds, I've filmed runs and then switched instantly and then filmed others within a minute. Keep your GoPro camera tilt angle parallel to the pole you are filming with, this will capture more of your body. good luck!
So the only fix for switching between filming others and yourself is,well,to literally detach and reattach the GoPro 180 degrees, huh? guess its the only option.
Thing is, im just afraid for that little bolt on the flipside of the screw+black handle. Although on some mounts that bolt sits quite tight within its plastic "seat". Although Ive heard you should guard these bots with your life since theyre unique! so im afraid itll fall on the go.. :\
@EXPNVM heh..dont mind what i wrote beofore. Now i understand you were talking about unscrewing the pole mount, instead of unscrewing the camera from the pole mount. that makes much more sense, and it sounds good. ill give it a try when i purchase the pole mount.
thanx for the Duct tape tip as well. there is No grip whatsoever to that pole mount. no rubber of some sort... so the duct tape comes to the rescue right there :]
@PGKproductions1137. I feel the electrical tape isn't as durable and is a bit more slippery when wet. The Gorilla Tape Brand is just basically 1 inch wide duct tape with claimed "more adhesive glue" so it has that straind like feel and look to it, and I feel is more gritty to grip the tiny GoPro pieces. If your GoPro is used in dry conditions, then no worries, electrical tape should work fine, just tighten those bolts with what all said in mind.
@EXPNVM hey how did you get the snowboard mounted on the wall? that looks awesome and makes storage easier!
