no wonder why holyfield won against tyson !!! Tua has a similar style and he is the perfekt sparrings partner in preparation for a fight against Tyson..
Holyfield was in training to fight Tyson during this time, I guess that`s why he wanted a short stocky heavyweight to spar with, Tua was a beast, He`s got the muscle mass of an NFL Lineman
So thats why taller boxers are better in GENERAL, Taller reach, and they can simply move around you, let you get gassed out and pick their shots, eating jabs from a taller person isn't much in the early rounds, but boy do they fuckin hurt and dissoriant ya after a few rounds.
You simply need to out work them and apply relentles pressure, once a shorter fighter gets gassed out, which was the case with David vs lennox, tyson vs lennox, tyson vs evander, David vs hassim, all your skills get thrown out the window, they are meaningless. Cause you have no more steam left, so you wind up moving slow, and doing just enough to deflect jabs by standing still.
A good boxer will always out best a puncher brawler like david. I'm a heavy weight boxer my self and I'm under 5'11. I will be first to admit that being able to fight taller boxers needs to be taught from day one1. Mike tyson comes to mind right away, followed by Rocky Marciano But rocky never faought any real giants per say as joe luis did. But still the point is you need to work 2 times harder than a taller boxer, you don't need be faster, or stronger, you just need to outbest them and outbox
David tua is slightly above Tommy morrison because Tua didn't get knocked out into next week, Tua just looks like a damn gorilla shaven, huge and heavily built, but its also IMO that trait that made him not as Mobile as Mike tyson. Mike is higher than David Tua, not because of knockouts, but because of movements, had better sway and all round conditioning in his early career.
Tua is good, not great. Saying he would have is like saying Mike tyson would have been great, and all the potential in the world cant make great boxers if they don't have tools. Ali is great, Joe luis is great, Jack Johnson is great, Sam langford is great. Its not about the knock outs sometimes, its about the quality of fights, if you go the distance, if you come back to beat the men that beat you, its your character, your NATURAL GOD GIVEN MOVEMENTS.
notice at 0:52 holyfield is in the inside with tua, holyfield has tua's left hand under his right arm. and at the same time holyfield jogs to his right to get away from the ropes to avoid tuas power and right hand. it's little things like this that separate champions from the contenders... respect to tua and holyfield.
N Lennox dominated TUA throughout the fight? Lmao. Dominated in RUNNING in circles from Tua, u meant..if Tua had the agility of Tyson, Lennox would get dropped so quick they won't go past the 6th round because TUA's few landed left hooks has got Lewis dazed n confused a few times.
Tua would knock Holyfield the fuck outta da ring if they were to go toe 2 toe fo realz. This is just sparring, so of course Tua can't go all out violent on him since the whole task of this was to prepare Holyfield. N by the look of this, da Headbutt King seems to be having a hard time..
Yeah, had I known tricky holy with hi tricks, head rushing, butting, steriod use and parring with Tua to prepare for tyson,I never would have picked tyson.

Tua's the man with the best left hook in boxing. Holyfields 1 of the greatest boxers of all time. Tua provided the perfect sparring style 2 get Holyfield ready 4 Tyson. Tua and Holyfield mite be fighting each other at the end of the year.
@bye5225 Frazier's left hook is good but it isn't as heavy as David's left...Maybe you could argue that Tyson's left hook or even Tommy Morrison's left is the best. Anyway who am i to judge these awesome fighters...Just my opinion mate.
@123sactown lennox landed a few good shots and fucking dominated tua the whole night.. and tua didnt do shit lennox didnt have a scratch on him. I'd count that as an ass whooping.even if tua did fall into his game plan it wouldnt matter he'd still get out boxed.
@dsruptad im sorry to say anyone can be dropped even samoans maybe u want to check the legendary samoan powerhouse mighty mo as powerful he was he was dropped by some skinny muay thai fighter named Kaoklai Kannensoring
@stuylocster i am but i am also a tua fan and a holyfield fan and a amature heavyweight boxer..but this has nothing to do with that i am just sick of seeing all the keybord wars!
Tua was the perfect sparring partner to have when fighting Tyson. But Holyfield was obsessed with fighting Tyson until he did, he had an extremely intense almost hatred for him as Steward said. Too bad the Tua that fought Ike didnt show up to fight Lennox though.
On my bucket list is to spar with Evander. Yes I would get creamed. But just to stand there in the ring with the champ so I could see what it was like to have him stare me down. Wow. I'd gladly get my ass knocked out for that chance.
T&T Like a mother fken detonator ask all those pussy niggas that got knocked out from Tua and Tyson and then observe Tua and tyson are atr8 fuken killaz dont giv a fuk about anything.
@Sanja1010 Boxing records necessarily show you whose the better boxer. For instance, SRR fought a lot of his fights with people who only had 1 fight or none. Quality of opponents is also a big part.
I think the only reason holyfied got tua to spar with him is because tua is built like tyson. he short and stocky and muscular. hes a slugger like tyson, comes right at you. Thats how holyfield beat his (tyson) his ass he fights similar to tyson. would have been nice if tyson didnt duck tua and they wouldve fought. i think tua wouldve have beat tysons ass. tua was much stronger than tyson. tua beats tyson by a knock out. round 3 0r 4
Article: Lewis Trainer Disses Tyson Article from: AP Online Article date: June 6, 2002 TIM DAHLBERG If this were the Mike Tyson of years ago, Emanuel Steward might be a little more worried. Steward, who trains Lennox Lewis, thinks Tyson is just a shell of the fighter he once was. "Everyone is holding onto that image of Mike Tyson from 10 to 12 years ago," Steward said. "That Mike Tyson is gone." Tyson has fought only 18 rounds against second-rate fighters since biting Evander
LENNOX LEWIS retired because he didn’t think MUHAMMAD ALI will fight him to prove his “greatness” He could get a READY JOB as a COMEDIAN! When TYSON and HOLYFIELD were in their DANGEROUS PRIME the HOMOSEXUAL TOILET TRADER was out looking for fellow HOMO’S or getting put on QUEER STREET in a few SMALL MINUTES by HANDPICKED BUMS who were HAM and EGGERS! Not just stopped in a TECHNICAL way but LEGITIMATELY KNOCKED OUT COLD!
everyone saw tyson get battered on the scorecards and KOed he obviously didnt stand a chance at that point, it was totaly for the fans tyson in no way deserved a rematch
however lewis sued don king for millions for using threats to tyson to stop a rematch, the sole reason being lewis wanted some more money
seriously learn some basic shit before commenting again
@403766 i almost agree with you and would add that holyfield did not deserve a title shot against tyson after coming off a KO loss to bowe. now i don't know if you realized then that a tyson rematch was far more attractive and lucrative than a holyfield vs lewis fight would have been and that means it was the right thing to do and pair them up iagain in june of 1997!
A PAIR of ringside tickets for tomorrow night's fight in a hundred million - face value $1,500 each - changed hands here yesterday for $16,000.
The economic impact on Las Vegas of the finest and fiercest heavyweights of their generation climbing back together on to that small, square, roped-in scaffold is estimated by the city godfathers to far exceed $100m
@Cowardzaghe what evidence have you witnessed about lewis that suggest to you that he is a homosexual? lewis deserves credit as being one of the all time great champions.
@403766 Andre Berto beat Quintana, who beat Paul Williams, who beat Sergio Martinez, who beat Pavlik, who beat Jermain Taylor, who beat Hopkins, who beat Tarver, who beat Roy Jones, who beat Ruiz, who beat Holyfield, who beat Tyson, who beat Larry Holmes, who beat Trevor Berbick, who beat Muhammed Ali!
Glass Jawed Coward Lennox Lewis would get murdered by Fraudley Harrison, he ain't got one single legit win, he's hopeless. Gets destroyed by crackheads and post heart-attack pensioners
tyson overrated.daamm dats alot of smack.tua was just a fat guy with one big punch.tua is the one overrated in a way becoz he never proved him self 2 be a champ.guys like frazier.tyson, marciano, joe louis, shavers, ruddock would trash tua.
heres an observation..good short fighter is powerful faster and devastating when they young eg tyson/tua as they need more output/workrate against good taller fighter ..Good tall fighter no so good against the like of tyson/tua type fighters but will beat them when they are older as the get easily picked of by bigger/taller/smart tall fighters/ Short fighters tire easily in later rounds angainst a good tall fighter so taller fighters win here....
he could,he should whatever .....the only test is when you face off in the ring and any good fighter adjusts to his opponents eg tighter defense, guard up to protect a particular signature move/punch etc..someone said tyson throws a wider hook..lol tyson is shorter then lewis for eg so shorter arms therefore who would have a tighter/wider hook....cmon use your brains,
tyson vs tua.one hell of a fight.tyson was way more faster and agile.amazing head movement.but prime tyson would win.late knock out or by points 2 tyson.tua needs 2 jus unload in his fights.needs 2 cut of the ring with urgency.no doubt tua is a amazing fighter.but prime tyson was on another level.both are great .
@salflashy13 i disagree because Tyson was in his prime when boxing wasnt as technical nor professional in comparison to tua's era or when tua turned pro, when tua was in his prime they had better diet, skilled trainers, advanced drugs the works..sport science had improved by then so i base my argument on the advancement of sport science and athlete performance. therefore tua has knocked out better stronger opponents. you must admit i have a point to prove here..
@llevijr back in the day there wasnt as good of equipment to train with and tyson used watever he could, tua had more variety but i see your point and i hope u see mine
@llevijr wow ok.hmm fighters of tysons era.2 name a few that had all the aspects you metioned.holyfield, oliver mccal, lewis, spinks, holmes.riddick bowe etc.tyson beat some bums as did tua.but tyson smashed guys like bone crusher smith, donovan etc all were amazing.all better than the fightes we have 2dae.chris bird beat tua.lewis gave tua a boxing lesson when tua was at his prime.
@llevijr and yes tua beat ruiz, who hasnt haha.umm beat moore.but no one in the calibre of tysons era.none the less tua would beat some of those fighters.and in an era where you had amazing athletes including tyson.they would trounce fighter or 2dae.
@llevijr No....Just no.....Tyson's era was the last decent one, it wasn't strong, it was just decent...Every era afterwards was total shit, especially in the heavyweights...End of conversation, a bum is a bum, every heavy hitter has to start out knocking on something
@XionComrade you are a Haye supporter i guess. lets compare Tyson. how many Knockouts? 44. Tua how many Knockouts? 43. Wlad 49...Wlad has been knocked out, Tyson has been knocked out....all these bums have been knocked out except for.....
@llevijr tysons been knocked out so.tyson would knock tua out.right now solis would probably knock tua out.tyson has had fights with way more great fighters than tua has had.wlad he hasnt had a fight in tysons calibre or holyfields.
@salflashy13 Tua's best fight was against Lewis, a legitimate ATG. But overall he did not fight the caliber that Tyson did throughout his career. No Rudducks, Bonecrushers, Tuckers, etc...Albeit Lewis was better than anyone Tyson ever fought(Obviously)
@XionComrade yea agree with you mate.but lewis wasnt tuas best fight he got his ass handed 2 him lol.but i get what you mean.well their were a couple of fighters that were better than lewis that tyson fought.spinks ,holmes etc.lewis never fought a fighter of tysons or holyfield calibre in their primes.
Those guys were all pretty shit compared to lewis's amazing competion, and holmes was completely washed up ad formely retired and spinks is fuck all, lewis would cane em all
@403766 LENNOX LEWIS retired because he didn’t think MUHAMMAD ALI will fight him to prove his “greatness”. The COWARD could get a READY JOB as a COMEDIAN! When he chose to HIDE from MIKE TYSON until he was SMOKING MARIJUANA and WASHED UP he was getting beaten to a PULP by a JOHN RUIZ ERA version of OLD MAN EVANDER HOLYFIELD who previously FAILED TO GET A BOXING LICENCE due to a HEART ATTACK!
@llevijr Fuck Haye, fuck every heavyweight fighter today, they are not hungry and do not care about the sport...Tyson was never KOed with one punch, Wlad was KTFO by a guy that couldn't even punch and another one that hit nothing like a Tyson, Ruddock, or Smith, and Tua apparently just has a iron iron jaw and a punch straight from a nightmare. Physically he is more intimidating than Tyson, but deffinently not skillfully. Even Tony Tucker would have probably made a fool of Tua, he could....
@llevijr ..Not handle a really good boxer with a really good jab(He had "slow" feet). Wlad is deffinently the lesser of the 3, especially in punching power. He is fighting in the weakest division in memory, so it is a wonder how he has not KOed everyone he has ever fought, and he has NEVER fought a fighter even close to as capable as Tua in his prime, much much less Tyson, who was very overrated.
@llevijr The science may have improved, but even by Tua's time the fighters had turned into slouches...Even Lewis' only losses came because of pure laziness, and today we have noone that is ATG worthy, not even one. You do not have a point, Tyson knocked out guys that would have given Tua a pretty good lesson, he was much more impressive skill wise, albeit not power wise. Sports science effects boxing in very very small ways...The best era is still without a doubt the 70s...
David had potential to win, but he still lacked some important tools, but one the major issues in my opinion was his weight.
A young and light tyson would undoubtedly out box tua. Tua also didnt fare to well with taller openants for many reason but a few of which included his inability to properly come in and out, pushing the fight properly and bad foot work.
Thank goodness Mr. Tua was not getting headbutted like Mr. Tyson was in fight 1 and 2 or Mr. Tua would have bitten Holyfields ears first. I know it was a bad joke but why was it that a 6 ft 1 man's head was in a 5ft 11 man's eye? Cheating!!!!!
LMAO tongans and samoans best fighter in the pacific yeaaa right.yes thea are some good tongan and samoan fighters.but there are other fighters in pacific islands that can fight.just becoz you may be samoan or tongan doesnt mean your tough braa.go png or fiji real good fighters there 2.
i have noticed a load more Samoans kicking ass in various sports which is impressive, but to be honest, i think they are one of the more motivated Polynesian peoples, Maoris generally too Lazy would rather smoke spliffs, Tongans... fuses are too short....will smash their trainers, Fijians....too happy, they smile too much lol just kidding, all stereotypes, A great fighter could come from anywhere in the world from any walk of life as long as they possess the ability to do so.
tyson avoided tua maybe because there was a chance of getting ko'd. but as far as skill goes in sparring, tyson would wipe the floor with him looking at this compared to tyson sparring footage. i reckon cos tua had a powerful punch he might have thought he could get knocked out badly. but i think tyson was better than tua.
@ORSM44 shut up you gimp boxing is a much more technical sport than you think lennox lewis is a pretty technical fighter david tua is just 1 dimentional he just throws huge shots which to be fair to him are pretty devestating but you cannot say lennox lewis fights like a bitch its called boxing not a street fight lennox lewis uses his brain hes not going to stand toe to toe with tua ahaa so fuck off to street fighting if your just obsessed with brawlers like tua! its not the way to box
Tua aint to one dimentional fighter, at least he can still go the distance and not be KO'd, you can also see that with his fight with Ahunanya recently or the old lennox fight.
@ryan54 oh yeah the lennox fight where he got the living shit kicked out of him for 12 rounds and was absolutely out of gas from like round 8 onwards aha
@ArtzzMLG Considering Lennox never even rocked Tua it was hardly a beating, Lennox knew the game of staying on the outside foreal, even Lennox said he hit him with his 4 punch combo and still couldn't drop him.
@ArtzzMLG I wouldnt say tua got the living shit kicked out of him? Lennox never really hurt tua he out boxed him for sure tho I cant deny that, but as far as Lennox kicking tuas ass ummmmm....... he won but it wasnt a knockout so in my opinion he won the match hands down but kicking his ass negative. Lennox is a great boxer he knows how to defeat a slugger and that is what tua is. I felt in that fight tua was playing into lennox game plan and he lost the fight because of that.
@123sactown Lennox beat the fuck out of Tua lol, nearly closed his left eye at the end of the fight, Tua had a fat black swollen eye for days I bet, Lewis picked whenever he wanted to land combos and he did, he wanted to embarrass Tua and show him that he was nowhere near his league
@123sactown Tua stopped trying when Lennox was hurting him early with hard shots and stayed in a shell for the rest of the fight. It's only the Tua fans that distort reality and blame his losses on any excuse they can come up with.
@ArtzzMLG Yeah tua was more like that in the 90's but the anunanya fight, King, Byrd and Lennox even all showed he could still go the distance without being stopped early like other sluggers i.e Mike tyson fell under trouble when it came to later rounds because he was so used to the quicker KOs.
@ORSM44 its just strategy. lewis aint stupid. he knows how hard tua hits, so he smothered him. same thing lewis did with tyson. lewis knows that he himself can get knocked out. thats not the goal. but its pretty easy to acheive win fighting a tua or a tyson
you become champion of the world by having good promotors, choosing easy fights for the most money, and getting carried for a reasonable record before you can start fighting some real enemeys.
@tautauu lewis kept him on the outside with his jab and boxing brain, people thought it was a boring fight but it was a masterclass in the art of boxing, he took away all of tua advantages, hard to say who would win out of tyson and tua,im gonna lean toward a young tyson for the fact his so difficult to hit clean, a pre bruno tyson that is.
look at tysons early wins though, when was he ever tested? he won the title off old man berbick, and defended against tucker, bruno, spinx, tubbs, old man holmes, williams and co.Douglas was the only fighter who went in not to survive but to beat Tyson. Old man holyfield, Lewis showed that a heart was enough to beat Tyson (prime or not)
Pre Bruno Tyson was never tested enough to win my undying confidence in Tysons ability to endure punishment.
@AncientofAncients yeh i know wot ur saying, its hard to pic between these two, there both that similair,i reckon tyson has the better body movement, and defensive skills, the way he spins of u to the sides etc, and he can match tua for power and speed, it just boils down to mental toughness, if tua was to catch tyson would he give up, tbf tyson has a pretty soid chin and can take some good sustained punishment, but is his heart strong enough,
@frisbyrb5 TYSON IS FASTER AND CAN KNOCK U OUT WITH EITHER HAND OR PUNCH. U HIT IT ON THE HEAD ABOUT HEART AND CHIN HIS CHIN IS SOLID BUT HE CAN BE FRSTERATED IF SHIT DOESNT GO HIS WAY. HE WASNT LIKE THAT BEFORE. BUT EARLY TYSON EARLY TUA=TYSON ALL DAY.
@codyscott1973 I disagree with that one I think tua would win that fight. Both fighters has power and tyson is a little faster and more aggresive then tua but tua has the chin and the heart to put tyson on his back. It would of been a great fight tho. I watch all of tysons early knockouts tho impressive but who was he knocking out in his prime? Tua can take any punch tyson has but can tyson take tuas punch? I would of love to see that fight but we will only speculate and argue who would of won.
@123sactown Do u remember Rahman vs Tua 3? He dropped Tua in later rounds. Mike Tysons knock out losses came from beatings after numerous rounds not from one punch knock outs, and he has been cracked quite a few times and didnt fold. Tua primary punch is his left hook, although he throws it pretty tight(tighter than tyson) he has the tendancy to not pivot into it. Also not a whole lot of head movement from Tua and in his early days tended to tire easily.
@123sactown Mike was much quicker than Tua in the begining of their careers, and Mike threw his punches kinda wide which is something my coach taught me not do. Who has Tua stopped? He ended losing to good fighters to that werent afraid of him. And that Lewis fight(Tua) was deer in the head lights. The only reason he didnt get stopped is because he didnt put up a fight against Lewis, in his own words. Dont get me wrong I like Tua, but Mike would have got him. Check out Tua vs Felix Savon
no, Tyson in his prime is very beatable, you're just another guy over rating him again. the real great champions like Ali a prime holmes Liston and Holyfield would all embarress and frustrate Tyson IN HIS PRIME. heart is something that you can't give to a champion, and Tyson just didn't have it.
Tua one of the best chins in boxing

Tua was the perfect sparring partner to have when fighting Tyson. But Holyfield was obsessed with fighting Tyson until he did, he had an extremely intense almost hatred for him as Steward said. Too bad the Tua that fought Ike didnt show up to fight Lennox though.

On my bucket list is to spar with Evander. Yes I would get creamed. But just to stand there in the ring with the champ so I could see what it was like to have him stare me down. Wow. I'd gladly get my ass knocked out for that chance.

I think the only reason holyfied got tua to spar with him is because tua is built like tyson. he short and stocky and muscular. hes a slugger like tyson, comes right at you. Thats how holyfield beat his (tyson) his ass he fights similar to tyson. would have been nice if tyson didnt duck tua and they wouldve fought. i think tua wouldve have beat tysons ass. tua was much stronger than tyson. tua beats tyson by a knock out. round 3 0r 4

pmsl the half-assed idiot vague comment
everyone saw tyson get battered on the scorecards and KOed he obviously didnt stand a chance at that point, it was totaly for the fans tyson in no way deserved a rematch
however lewis sued don king for millions for using threats to tyson to stop a rematch, the sole reason being lewis wanted some more money

Lewis: Good but not great
BBC Sport Online's Alex Trickett places Lennox Lewis in the pantheon of all-time heavyweight legends.
Holyfield and Mike Tyson have set the benchmark.
Five years after he retires, however, his name will fall from boxing's highest order.
Lewis will join a lower tier of very good champions who were never truly great

heres an observation..good short fighter is powerful faster and devastating when they young eg tyson/tua as they need more output/workrate against good taller fighter ..Good tall fighter no so good against the like of tyson/tua type fighters but will beat them when they are older as the get easily picked of by bigger/taller/smart tall fighters/ Short fighters tire easily in later rounds angainst a good tall fighter so taller fighters win here....
fijianz1 1 year ago
he could,he should whatever .....the only test is when you face off in the ring and any good fighter adjusts to his opponents eg tighter defense, guard up to protect a particular signature move/punch etc..someone said tyson throws a wider hook..lol tyson is shorter then lewis for eg so shorter arms therefore who would have a tighter/wider hook....cmon use your brains,

tyson vs tua.one hell of a fight.tyson was way more faster and agile.amazing head movement.but prime tyson would win.late knock out or by points 2 tyson.tua needs 2 jus unload in his fights.needs 2 cut of the ring with urgency.no doubt tua is a amazing fighter.but prime tyson was on another level.both are great .
salflashy13 1 year ago
@salflashy13 i disagree because Tyson was in his prime when boxing wasnt as technical nor professional in comparison to tua's era or when tua turned pro, when tua was in his prime they had better diet, skilled trainers, advanced drugs the works..sport science had improved by then so i base my argument on the advancement of sport science and athlete performance. therefore tua has knocked out better stronger opponents. you must admit i have a point to prove here..

@llevijr No....Just no.....Tyson's era was the last decent one, it wasn't strong, it was just decent...Every era afterwards was total shit, especially in the heavyweights...End of conversation, a bum is a bum, every heavy hitter has to start out knocking on something

llevijr 1 year ago
@llevijr tysons been knocked out so.tyson would knock tua out.right now solis would probably knock tua out.tyson has had fights with way more great fighters than tua has had.wlad he hasnt had a fight in tysons calibre or holyfields.
salflashy13 1 year ago
@salflashy13 Tua's best fight was against Lewis, a legitimate ATG. But overall he did not fight the caliber that Tyson did throughout his career. No Rudducks, Bonecrushers, Tuckers, etc...Albeit Lewis was better than anyone Tyson ever fought(Obviously)
XionComrade 1 year ago
@XionComrade yea agree with you mate.but lewis wasnt tuas best fight he got his ass handed 2 him lol.but i get what you mean.well their were a couple of fighters that were better than lewis that tyson fought.spinks ,holmes etc.lewis never fought a fighter of tysons or holyfield calibre in their primes.

Cowardzaghe 1 year ago
@llevijr Fuck Haye, fuck every heavyweight fighter today, they are not hungry and do not care about the sport...Tyson was never KOed with one punch, Wlad was KTFO by a guy that couldn't even punch and another one that hit nothing like a Tyson, Ruddock, or Smith, and Tua apparently just has a iron iron jaw and a punch straight from a nightmare. Physically he is more intimidating than Tyson, but deffinently not skillfully. Even Tony Tucker would have probably made a fool of Tua, he could....
XionComrade 1 year ago
@llevijr ..Not handle a really good boxer with a really good jab(He had "slow" feet). Wlad is deffinently the lesser of the 3, especially in punching power. He is fighting in the weakest division in memory, so it is a wonder how he has not KOed everyone he has ever fought, and he has NEVER fought a fighter even close to as capable as Tua in his prime, much much less Tyson, who was very overrated.
XionComrade 1 year ago
@llevijr The science may have improved, but even by Tua's time the fighters had turned into slouches...Even Lewis' only losses came because of pure laziness, and today we have noone that is ATG worthy, not even one. You do not have a point, Tyson knocked out guys that would have given Tua a pretty good lesson, he was much more impressive skill wise, albeit not power wise. Sports science effects boxing in very very small ways...The best era is still without a doubt the 70s...

3rddegreeBB 1 year ago
David had potential to win, but he still lacked some important tools, but one the major issues in my opinion was his weight.
A young and light tyson would undoubtedly out box tua. Tua also didnt fare to well with taller openants for many reason but a few of which included his inability to properly come in and out, pushing the fight properly and bad foot work.

ArtzzMLG 1 year ago
@ArtzzMLG
Tua aint to one dimentional fighter, at least he can still go the distance and not be KO'd, you can also see that with his fight with Ahunanya recently or the old lennox fight.
ryan54 10 months ago
@ryan54 oh yeah the lennox fight where he got the living shit kicked out of him for 12 rounds and was absolutely out of gas from like round 8 onwards aha
ArtzzMLG 9 months ago
@ArtzzMLG Considering Lennox never even rocked Tua it was hardly a beating, Lennox knew the game of staying on the outside foreal, even Lennox said he hit him with his 4 punch combo and still couldn't drop him.
ryan54 9 months ago
@ArtzzMLG I wouldnt say tua got the living shit kicked out of him? Lennox never really hurt tua he out boxed him for sure tho I cant deny that, but as far as Lennox kicking tuas ass ummmmm....... he won but it wasnt a knockout so in my opinion he won the match hands down but kicking his ass negative. Lennox is a great boxer he knows how to defeat a slugger and that is what tua is. I felt in that fight tua was playing into lennox game plan and he lost the fight because of that.
123sactown 9 months ago 18
@123sactown Lennox beat the fuck out of Tua lol, nearly closed his left eye at the end of the fight, Tua had a fat black swollen eye for days I bet, Lewis picked whenever he wanted to land combos and he did, he wanted to embarrass Tua and show him that he was nowhere near his league

KoKoKoNA4mCali 2 months ago
@ArtzzMLG Yeah tua was more like that in the 90's but the anunanya fight, King, Byrd and Lennox even all showed he could still go the distance without being stopped early like other sluggers i.e Mike tyson fell under trouble when it came to later rounds because he was so used to the quicker KOs.
ryan54 9 months ago
@ORSM44 its just strategy. lewis aint stupid. he knows how hard tua hits, so he smothered him. same thing lewis did with tyson. lewis knows that he himself can get knocked out. thats not the goal. but its pretty easy to acheive win fighting a tua or a tyson

tautauu 1 year ago
@tautauu lewis kept him on the outside with his jab and boxing brain, people thought it was a boring fight but it was a masterclass in the art of boxing, he took away all of tua advantages, hard to say who would win out of tyson and tua,im gonna lean toward a young tyson for the fact his so difficult to hit clean, a pre bruno tyson that is.
frisbyrb5 1 year ago
@frisbyrb5
look at tysons early wins though, when was he ever tested? he won the title off old man berbick, and defended against tucker, bruno, spinx, tubbs, old man holmes, williams and co.Douglas was the only fighter who went in not to survive but to beat Tyson. Old man holyfield, Lewis showed that a heart was enough to beat Tyson (prime or not)
Pre Bruno Tyson was never tested enough to win my undying confidence in Tysons ability to endure punishment.
AncientofAncients 1 year ago
@AncientofAncients yeh i know wot ur saying, its hard to pic between these two, there both that similair,i reckon tyson has the better body movement, and defensive skills, the way he spins of u to the sides etc, and he can match tua for power and speed, it just boils down to mental toughness, if tua was to catch tyson would he give up, tbf tyson has a pretty soid chin and can take some good sustained punishment, but is his heart strong enough,
frisbyrb5 1 year ago
@frisbyrb5 TYSON IS FASTER AND CAN KNOCK U OUT WITH EITHER HAND OR PUNCH. U HIT IT ON THE HEAD ABOUT HEART AND CHIN HIS CHIN IS SOLID BUT HE CAN BE FRSTERATED IF SHIT DOESNT GO HIS WAY. HE WASNT LIKE THAT BEFORE. BUT EARLY TYSON EARLY TUA=TYSON ALL DAY.
codyscott1973 1 year ago
@codyscott1973 I disagree with that one I think tua would win that fight. Both fighters has power and tyson is a little faster and more aggresive then tua but tua has the chin and the heart to put tyson on his back. It would of been a great fight tho. I watch all of tysons early knockouts tho impressive but who was he knocking out in his prime? Tua can take any punch tyson has but can tyson take tuas punch? I would of love to see that fight but we will only speculate and argue who would of won.
123sactown 1 year ago
