thanks for this, it's really good advice.. but I was wondering what I should say in an interview for a job because I've never had any experience. I'm 17, so I've never had a job, and I know every company is looking for people with experience. What did you say in your first job interview when they asked you about experience?
@Susan94x Hope you don't mind me butting in! One positive thing to never having a job before is that you wouldn't have picked up any any bad habits. Most jobs involve some form of training so don't be worrying about that. I'd say make sure your enthusiasm to work hard and willingness to learn shines through.
@adoreabubbles Thanks a million Sarah, and I don't mind you butting in at all, I should have actually addressed my comment to everyone who could help!
So, what do you think would be a good answer to "have you had any previous experience?" I really want to get a job, but I'm just trying to make sure I have answers to tricky questions so I go in prepared :) Thanks again :)
@Susan94x Before the interview they will have seen your C.V and know that you haven't had much experience if any. So they will probably ask "what can you bring to our company" that's where you get the opportunity to tell them how awesome you are basically. be honest and say you don't have any previous experience in this line of work but you are very keen on representing their company to the best of your abilities. Quick to learn and excited about opportunities ahead. Do you have a job in mind?
@adoreabubbles It all depends on the job to be honest. If its anything to do with working with the general public you can always talk about events you took part in during school and say this greatly improved your confidence and you feel you can handle situations involving speaking to other people and providing a friendly service.
@adoreabubbles Thanks for the tips :) Most likely a retail job. Hopefully in dunnes because my cousin works there and I know of a few other people working there and they really like it. And it's only a few minutes from my house! But if I can't get one in there I'm almost positive it'll be a retail job I'll be looking for because it's not going to be the be-all-end-all, I just want to get a job to help out at home and to have some money!
@aoifelovesmakeup1 to be honest its pretty much the same as this video, read up on the counter's history & have a browse around the products before the interview so you can bring them up in conversation!:) x
