I got a few things to say.. the "Tingeling" wasnt very original either. The missheard lyrics have been on the tube for ages. And I got to agree with some of you guys.. take a joke? jerseyflex238, culture is not something static. It takes impressions from all directions, assimilates the good parts and evolves. (OK, sometimes we also take on stupid habits like wearing a swimsuit in the sauna and celebrating Halloween :-( ) That's not the same as forgetting one's culture. Learning languages is important for improving the understanding of other cultures. I know a bit of Russian. Who knows, one day I may even understand Russians :-)

Peter I didn't attack Sweden to preserve Russian culture. He did it to get territory in the west so he could more easily import western culture. Russia could quite easily have stayed out of the first world war if it hadn't so badly wanted to show its strength. I got a few things to say.. the "Tingeling" wasnt very original either. The missheard lyrics have been on the tube for ages. And I got to agree with some of you guys.. take a joke? The russians just gets angry cuz its their "moment in the spotlight" and everyone is watching them. And then some swedes comes with a vid that (what they think) humilates them. So if thats how they felt just give them a excuse if they took it roughly. But so should they, give us a excuse.

"Pizdyuli" it's smthing like uncensored "kicking ass", but with a bit of irony, it's untranslateble noun.
So this song about swedes, who takes out some "pizdyuli" neither glory and victory from Poltava. Then, a part about dancing monkey with strange haircut. The football part was funny, the goal against sweden, but the rest was boring, cant say anything about the lyrics, a translation would be welcome. It's stereotype from 70's, when hippie were popular in Sweden and they lived in families by 3 or more people. I don't know why in Russia it calls sweden family, not danish or dutch for example, but now it's a common phrase for this stuff

jerseyflex238, culture is not something static. It takes impressions from all directions, assimilates the good parts and evolves. (OK, sometimes we also take on stupid habits like wearing a swimsuit in the sauna and celebrating Halloween :-( ) That's not the same as forgetting one's culture. Learning languages is important for improving the understanding of other cultures. I know a bit of Russian. Who knows, one day I may even understand Russians :-)

Peter I didn't attack Sweden to preserve Russian culture. He did it to get territory in the west so he could more easily import western culture. Russia could quite easily have stayed out of the first world war if it hadn't so badly wanted to show its strength. In my opinion the Cold war was more Russia's fault than anybody elses, and there's a great risk that your military actions in Chechnya will be counter-productive.
