Solar activity has continued to go through its 11 year cycle predictably exactly as it has for 100s of years, yet the overall temperature of the Earth has continued to go up every year without any dips, predictably by the volume of CO2 added to atmosphere.

The reason why everyone on the panel agrees that GW is real and caused by humans is that even most of the real scientists, even the skeptics.
Both Roy Spencer and John Christy say this. There is a video on YouTube where Spencer is recorded as saying to a group of conservatives: "Global warming is happening, it is being caused by human GHG emissions, and so get over it".
They just dont think it will be catastrophic. Only the politically motivated fringe deny that GW is caused by GHGs.
In fact if you think, it's pretty stupid to say "Save the world". The world, Earth, will always survive it's we, we who need to save ourselves from global climate disasters, changes and all that, Earth will always survive and recover in time, it may take thousands, millions and billions of years. But it will always recover itself and new creatures will be born. In short, the Earth would be a better place without our presence.

And yes, humans are capable of producing that amount of carbon dioxide. We've been spewing greenhouse gases since the Industrial Revolution.

@dellbalboa I dont think that its the fact that Carbon dioxide(Co2) is the cause i think that its that fact the so many trees have been chopped down that they cannot control the co2 level. Its not co2 thats destroying its just there isnt a natural balance.
@RealFutureStar33 Actually, the correlation between CO2 increases and increases in temp are reverse. CO2 increases as the temp goes up, not the other way around. So they have couched it in this, and now try to sell people "carbon credits".
The real reason the temp increases is simply part of the cycle of the world. Now, this isnt saying pollution is good, just that their logic and motives are wrong.

Did anyone else notice that all of the "climate experts," not one was a scientist? And that they are all of the belief that global warming is caused by humanity, not a natural cycle of the earth. To state that we have sufficient data to "prove," that climate change is caused by humans, you would need data from tens of thousands of years. Climate shifts take enormous amounts of time to occur (ie. the last ice age), are normal cycles of the earth.
We do have data from tens of thousands of years if not hundreds of thoudands of years in ice cores. They show that CO2 is the highest it has been in 2 milion years. Yes, there has been warmer and colder periods in tha past, but it is the rate at which the climate is changing not the absolute change in temperature that is a concern.
Fair enough. If they really want to cut CO2 levels, why not stop logging? And plant trees? Not only does it cut CO2 levels, but it also stops soil erosion, amongst other things. Why are they not looking for simple, natural (and cheaper) solutions?

In fact there is a big push to enhance biological sequestration using reforestation, wetland restoration and wetland preservation. Also, industries are going to need to account for the emissions associated with landuse change. So for example if you are an industry that is draining peatlands in order to access a certain resource you will need to report that emissions associated with peatland loss.
Well, there's quite a lot of reforestation to do. I fly over quite a large area of country, and there are a lot (and I mean a lot!) of areas that have simply been clearcut without any sign of reforestation.
Frankly, reporting what emissions have been associated with the wetland loss doesn't DO anything. It just says "Hey, here's what we've done to the land" and then move on.
co2 is not a polutant and its concentration was 10 times biger in recorded history. industry produces 1% of all CO2. only 5% of all greenhouse gases is co2.

Caps on emissions are a waste of time and won't work. The reason people are pushing for them is because they have confused stopping global warming with punishing corporate greed. If people really want to save the planet they need to stop making this about anti capitalist ideology and start thinking in terms of results. Investing in solar solutions and things like lab produced meat (to cut emissions from livestock) are the real answer. Want to change the world? Then make change profitable.

Did not we have a Dust bowl in the U.S. during a time when anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions became significant? The reason why everyone on the panel agrees that GW is real and caused by humans is that even most of the real scientists, even the skeptics.
Both Roy Spencer and John Christy say this. There is a video on YouTube where Spencer is recorded as saying to a group of conservatives: "Global warming is happening, it is being caused by human GHG emissions, and so get over it".
They just dont think it will be catastrophic. Only the politically motivated fringe deny that GW is caused by GHGs.

The world, Earth, will always survive it's we, we who need to save ourselves from global climate disasters, changes and all that, Earth will always survive and recover in time, it may take thousands, millions and billions of years. But it will always recover itself and new creatures will be born. In short, the Earth would be a better place without our presence.

I saw no debate. Should be cut pollution? Of course. But that doesn't make global warming a man made crisis. What an example of scientific ignorance. First, the Permian climate change, climate changes before this one, happened slowly. This climate change, however, is happening at an alarming rate. Proof? Check out all the peer-reviewed scientific publications cited by the United Nations as evidence that the present climate change is anthropogenic. And yes, humans are capable of producing that amount of carbon dioxide. We've been spewing greenhouse gases since the Industrial Revolution.

I guess. I have heard of the ice core samples but then again, there was the Medieval Warm period (800AD-1200AD) and that was speculated to have been worse than our worst case scenarios and guess what, people flourished.
Same thing back about 5,000 years ago the overall warmer temperature of the planet (about 5 degrees higher than today Fahrenheit) was what made Egypt lush and prosperous, not the desert it is now.
I do not deny Global warming but I believe that our involvement is exaggerated.

@RealFutureStar33 Actually, the correlation between CO2 increases and increases in temp are reverse. CO2 increases as the temp goes up, not the other way around. So they have couched it in this, and now try to sell people "carbon credits".
The real reason the temp increases is simply part of the cycle of the world. Now, this isnt saying pollution is good, just that their logic and motives are wrong.

Most people realize the earth's axis has a tilt (which causes summer and winter) but few realize the axis also has a wobble.
That wobble (over a 26,000 year cycle) does change the climate - not human industry (which produces less than 1/10 of the CO2 in our atmosphere).
Skeptics are convinced that "carbon credits" and the nuclear power industry are behind global warming hysteria!

The atmosphere contains roughly (by volume) 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases.
Air also contains a variable amount of water vapor, on average around 1%.

Did anyone else notice that all of the "climate experts," not one was a scientist? And that they are all of the belief that global warming is caused by humanity, not a natural cycle of the earth. To state that we have sufficient data to "prove," that climate change is caused by humans, you would need data from tens of thousands of years. Climate shifts take enormous amounts of time to occur (ie. the last ice age), are normal cycles of the earth.

We do have data from tens of thousands of years if not hundreds of thoudands of years in ice cores. They show that CO2 is the highest it has been in 2 milion years. Yes, there has been warmer and colder periods in tha past, but it is the rate at which the climate is changing not the absolute change in temperature that is a concern.

In fact there is a big push to enhance biological sequestration using reforestation, wetland restoration and wetland preservation. Also, industries are going to need to account for the emissions associated with landuse change. So for example if you are an industry that is draining peatlands in order to access a certain resource you will need to report that emissions associated with peatland loss.

Well, there's quite a lot of reforestation to do. I fly over quite a large area of country, and there are a lot (and I mean a lot!) of areas that have simply been clearcut without any sign of reforestation.
Frankly, reporting what emissions have been associated with the wetland loss doesn't DO anything. It just says "Hey, here's what we've done to the land" and then move on.

co2 is not a polutant and its concentration was 10 times biger in recorded history. industry produces 1% of all CO2. only 5% of all greenhouse gases is co2.

I am not going to list the number of references that show the increased rate of change, but I am guessing you can't show me one that shows that the current rate of change is similar to historical natural changes. There are numerous other studies that found the exact same relationship that Mann did using different proxies.........so in short you are full of shit.

Caps on emissions are a waste of time and won't work. The reason people are pushing for them is because they have confused stopping global warming with punishing corporate greed. If people really want to save the planet they need to stop making this about anti capitalist ideology and start thinking in terms of results. Investing in solar solutions and things like lab produced meat (to cut emissions from livestock) are the real answer. Want to change the world? Then make change profitable.

I find it interesting that nobody addresses the growing body of evidence that shows Global Warming has now tapered off, and was NOT caused by human behaviors. Mars is going through a similar change....and is devoid of humans!
I agree with creating cleaner fuel options-I believe that far too much bloodshed has occurred over "oil". But I do not agree with setting the stage for a world wide government or a body of people to "police" other countries. This, I believe, sets a dangerous precedent..
