  • this is one of the most shocking and greatest moments in the history of music though I have already listenned it many times. Every time after listenning to this, I cannot keep my mind down for a long time.

  • nobody even get close to him in this movement!

  • yes. furtwangler seems like the only one who didn't buy wagner's "apotheosis of the dance" bullshit in his approach to the 7th symphony (especially this movement).

though i also like asahina and kleiber (orfeo) in this movement for different reasons.

  • sorry, i don't understand what do you mean the wagner bullshit? lol, it can be very differerent approching.

  • well wagner was the one who first associated this symphony with any kind of dance association. i believe furtwangler address that issue in one of his papers on beethoven and completely denounces wagner's observations. i also never feel like i can dance to furtwangler's version as opposed to karajan's.

  • @Invisus944 I think I prefer Karajan 6:24 performance for this movement. But overall this is still a great performance, in my taste.

  • This is THE 7.

  • beautiful

  • Long live Furtwängler!
