  • aw man i cant even hear dudes spit and the flow sounds like its on point yo

  • this is amazing! I do spoken word too, poetry writing is my thing. I hope you guys have a good day

  • simply beautiful

  • Ahhh I LOVE spoken word! ! I do Spoken Word myself... Yall should check me out! The title of the video is SpokenWord: Think About It

  • Ahhh it's coded in flash, can't watch on my iPad :(

  • I think they talk too much about negative stuff. what you insist persists. it turns into a loop. the more you talk about hate and anger the more you will have to talk about it. believing is seeing.

  • inspiring!

  • There's some book on Amazon called: The Org 'Biography of a Violent Man'. Not sure how a book can be so violent and still funny at the same time, but it is. They limit it to only a 100 copies a year.

  • @urbintel ur spineless and if the world took a shit it will look just like u

  • I don't really like def jam poetry/slam/performance poetry all that much. Not that it isn't good, I write free verse, so I can appreciate it. Good verse is hard as hell to write.

  • how can grown me survive without snuggling? lol love it!

  • Olden day poems By James Berkey plagiarized Jamaal & Akil and it pissed me off Y cant people make their own poetry

  • @Meek617 I have a feeling it may be, they find it hard to be honest with themselves.

  • DAM!!!

  • Where can I hear the poems/freestyles in full? I Googled around for Akil's and only found random losers trying to rip it off as their own work.

  • amazing work!

  • demonocracy

  • hell yeah, very well put together. I love this

  • GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES!

  • One word AMAZING

  • Keep speaking truth to power....

  • "they say new born infants will die without cuddling, how can a grown man survive without snuggling" love that shit

  • Facebook: Solidified Poet

  • it sound like yall speakin real ish but that damn instrumental mann

  • the music really messes this up

  • this is Chi of the highest degree

  • this is Chi of the highest degree!

  • yessir

  • luv it now where my nigga or my girl

  • peace

  • Killed it!

  • this is the new product of rap, since rappers really don't talk about anything that will educate or benefit anyone else, this is where you must come for self help!

  • @goardo5 truth

  • @goardo5 wow...what an ignorant and asinine comment to characterize an entire genre of music as uneducational or without benefit. have you even heard of mos def...talib kweli...immortal technique or new cats like das racist? listen to them and then talk.

  • @ubermensch826 - your reply reads young to me...you may be listening to conscious rap but you don't sound like you have learned anything...Stay in a childs place. God bless you little brother.

  • @goardo5 Aint that the truth!

  • @goardo5 That's not true... there are plenty of poets who rap and rappers who write poetry. Look deeper than the radio and you'll find truly inspirational lyrics in rap. Eyedea, Aesop Rock, Macklemore, Sage Franics, Brother Ali, Blue Scholars and the rest. Raps not dead, and neither is spoken poetry.

  • @goardo5 Or you could listen to nas, common, lupe fiasco, immortal technique. There are quite a few conscious rappers out there.

  • @goardo5 Nah man, listen to Lupe Fiasco... He still keeps it real.

  • @goardo5 spoken word is not a product of rap.

  • @goardo5 ... i think spoken word originated sometime before ... writing? try the illiad and the odyssey. Paper revolutionized poetry, however. Now, fast forward to the late 50s and early sixties ... we have actors (spoken word poets) like Allen Ginsburg and Jack Kerouac who performed poetry and prose to the sounds of Jazz. Where does the word bee-bop come from? Jazz. So, you can say Rap is a product of Jazz and what poets did before rap even existed, but you can't claim spoken word is from rap.

  • @nataliemoon1 Note: Ginsburg and Kerouac were Beats. The beatnik generation has inspired many, many artists of today, including these men we are watching. They might not know it, but it's there in the past.

  • @goardo5 Listen to Lecrae, Trip Lee, KB, PRo, Tedashii, Sho Baraka, Andy Mineo.

  • I love the care they gave to their thoughts and words... I just wish I could understand more of it. I couldn't make out half the words, and what they have to say is too important to be lost that way. :(

  • This is hot! But some of the message is lost because of the backgroud music and the speed of their speech. I love the idea and concept. Please continue because the world needs this!

  • Bravo!

  • this is the inspiration i need to continue writing

  • I love the lyrics but every spoken word artist I met just couldn't master a flow so they stopped and switched to spoken word. I'm sure this isnt always the case but I would love to hear this much passion on a beat these days but unfortunately gucci mane is on the radio and not ppl like this

  • Outstanding. Please do more. You may be hurt by the use of stereo here as some listeners won't have a stereo set up. Although I loved the effect.

    Keep it going, peace

    MP

  • this is good i could spend all my life here man listening to this

  • If only i could hear ya'll.. i bet it was tight too... please re do it..

  • LIke the Poetry but with the music its really hard to follow-Tone of music is too high pitch and covers their voices up- hard to hear their message- maybe pick a song that's behing their voices not over-if you know what I mean! Or put that song for picture vid only!! Cheers- neat footage !!

  • the last two were so hott. I think it so important that tthe WORDS of a poet are clearly heard. If your words are lost in fast rhymes and slurs we lose your message the poetry is drained out. We get nothing

  • stand up men in a classy video...great job guys

  • check out my spoken word/motivational speaking video on my channel ppl!--you WILL be inspired

  • @BHSVAsenior2010 dasan akil dasan

  • Man, I'm so upset, mine keeps getting stuck at 2:39, and I was really liking this too.

  • i wish i could rhyme :( real beautiful the video complements the poetry

  • "how can a man survive without snuggling.."

    to be

    bound by desire/

    is self-muggling.

  • This is great, just really great. I favourited ya.

  • because its all serious and stuff and it was just be

great if the guy got clipped by that car

look at the lead up around one minute...it would be hilarious, maybe if somehow they used a dummy I guess, I mean I not suggesting it would be funny if he got hurt.

And with a dummy it could be a really hard exagerated run-over

  • Very nice Fellas.....

  • it would be hilarious if dude got run over at 1:04

  • Um. Like how?

  • I LOVE THIS!!!

  • I love this!

  • I agree with the comment below...

  • good ass idea it's the new era im glad def poertry/ the spoken word is rising from the underground movement the world need us right now it's the perfect time to shine

  • to many cliches in your sentence. rising from? movement? world needs us? perfect time? hey, i like spoken word, but think about it ;) no offense, sir! :)

  • @g4sho002 yeah them,we need the.

  • @g4sho002 the world doesn't need you. you are not important.

  • they performed this at my school and it was AMAZINGGGGGG

  • "...that anger isn't because God made you an imperfect man; but because you made yourself a perfect stranger..." - this line is sick!

  • Jamaal had the coolest verse, but this whole video was pretty badass.

  • I m n old lady but I m enjoying this GREATLY- not only the art, bt als t comments posted. I see everybdy in this environment w a spiritual maturity much higher than average, pple w insight about what unites different religions cultures genders. I wish these artists (& commentators) wld take the stage of bringing + love throughout earth. I see thes pple as INCLUSIVE. This is an infinitely + mature act than that of the rulers. Your art has a power that military & silver powers will never have.

  • just great,on every level

  • falvourful

  • can you say hot shizznit!?!?!

  • this video is great. from the directing/cinematography to the lyrics.

  • lol........why u say that? lol wasn't muhammed a terrorist? I'm not being defensive of that Jesus guy by the way. I'm just saying. Come to think about it, all charismatic leaders could be considered terrorists. Bush and Andrew Jackson are two of America's worse of all time.

  • Exactly, At least someone has an OPEN mind!!!

  • Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him) wasnt a terrorist.Just to let you know Muhammed (PBUH0 gave women rites in the middle east that women in the west would not acheive till the early 90's.Yea im just letting you know brother.

  • peace be with you my brother. Insha-Allah. may the world's praise be to the God of Jesus, Muhammed, Abraham, and Isaac.

  • brother thanx Salaams i reale dont blame the people calling us terrorist cuz they werent shown the real islam the religion of Allah the most high the most merciful instead they where told that we worship the Kabaa lool i know its funny but you know dont let the media decieve your mind by the way im usin a laptop so its a bit hard i mispelled sum words sorry:)

    Jazak Allahu Khairin

  • Haha " That Jesus guy"

  • I was surprised to find, when I went to Iraq, Muslims hold Jesus in high regard. They aren't so sure about that son of God thing...but Jesus was a great profit in their religion. Oh, and Muhammad wasn't a terrorist..most of that started after he died and and people were split between following the "warrior" or Muhammad's cousin.

  • Burb n tell?

    burn in hell

    words to sell?

such a great name.. rimes so sweetly.

  • u obviously dont noe a damn thing about spoken word, his part was the worst out of em all, he sacarfied the message just to rhyme!!! and also, his message wasnt very deep...i mean, he just told, he didnt even paint a picture... wow.. noob
