what surprised me and didn't at the same time was when the guy ran through the residents' backyards, some of them weren't even surprised, there's so much crime in that area of Sylmar.

@Timsierramist - choper did not have crap under control, all they were doing was flying. the ground units didnt have it under controll because if they both did , there would of been no stinkin acciedent lol... they have car verse an suv. unless that suv had 500hp.. WTF why arent they infront of him blocking him from getting too an intersection.

It's unfortunate, but reality doesn't always give way for Hollywood Endings on the streets of LA. The Chopper was doing just exactly what it was there to do. Watch overhead and radio in to ground units. Do you live in LA? Are you certain of how many different streets and routes there are? Unless you want to give your taxes to fun more police officers and cars, there isn't going to be a police officer blocking every intersection the subject may go.

The LAPD/LASD/CHP deal with this everyday. They've been doing it for a long time. I think they got it down to about as good as it's gonna get.
