  • I love your hair I am so going to do this style next weekend. I am too excited to do them. I did my daughters hair in the yarn braids but I am a twist lady and I was going to get micro braids because like you I have short hair but it made since when you said the yarn will stay longer because when I put the yarn braids in my daughters hair it was short and not one of them fell out I was impressed but I forgot all about that so thanks for the video I am inspired...

  • How can I do my hair like that without burning the tips? My mom does my hair and it hurts her fingers to burn the tips so I want her to do it without says SHE IS NEVER DOING MY HAIR AGAIN!lol

  • I LOVE YOUR HAIR!! I ALSO ROCK BACK AND FORTH WHEN I DO HAIR TOO!! I HAVE A QUESTION I HAVE A PERM DO U THINK THAT THESE BRAIDS WILL BREAK MY HAIR OR IS THIS STYLE REALLY FOR NATURAL HAIR?

  • Que bonita mamita. I am going to try this. so elegant and prettty on u.

  • i wish i had ur hair! mine is wavy and lifeless :(

does a lot of hair come off when u remove the braids?

  • Your yarn twists are absolutely gorgeous.

  • These are the best yarn twist I've seen ever...also we have the same tat on the same place~I also have a Sankofa

  • What kind of yarn did you use? Where did you purchase the yarn?

  • The thread curling method is when you take weave thread and wrap it around the ends of a group of braids, draw it up and dip them in boiling hot water, blot dry w/a towel and let cool off. Then you cut the thread off and unravel the braids to get a nice looking coil. I will upload a video response to show you what I'm talking about.

  • ur a pretty lady and your hair is fab. i did my hair in yarn twist before..it was nice but i had a hard time burning my ends..hehe

  • Im just bought my yarn and omg, you thought you had short hair.

  • I like the twists idea better than braids... well because I CAN'T braid... so sad...so glad I saw this. So the yarn doesn't break the hair huh? I've been wondering how it does with the hair if it dries it out and breaks it.

  • Those are really pretty and nice and seem easy.

  • whats funny is...last week when I was twisting my own hair i noticed i rock side to side too....and I tried to stop buut as soon as I stopped thinking about it I started rocking again.

  • WOW THAT'S TOO CUTE!

  • BTW I like them a lot.. I like the twists a lot better than the braids...

  • lol @ ur rockin... I was like ok she stopped.. uh she is rockin again.. ok she stopped... lol

  • Great video Coco.. how long did it take you to do that style?

  • Have you ever finished the ends by the threaded curl method? Do you know if that finish would work w/yarn similar to the way it does with Kanekalon?

  • @romeyswife Hi, whats a threaded curl method?

  • ADORABLE AND ADORABLE STYLE DID YOUR GROW IF SO HOW LONG

  • good job

  • your hair looks nice!

  • I LOVE IT!!! I was searching to find a video that shows how to lock in hair when braiding and I found ya video. it not only showed me how to lock in the weave, but it gave me a great idea for a new hairstyle. Thanks. I'm gonna subscribe and your hair rocks!

  • @TRILLAZZBYTCH YOU ROCK!!! and i love the name :) thanks so much! I need to put some new videos up, too.

  • How long do they last?

And What type of yarn do you use?

  • @KHen5thGenCOGIC I wouldn't leave them in more than 2 months, personally. You don't want your hair to loc up. I used Red Heart yarn. They usually sell it in Wal-Mart or any craft store.

  • How did you maintain your twist? How long did it take?

You did a great job with the twisting & tutorial : )

I may attempt this style, I love your yarn twisted hair !

  • @nappylala thanks! i made sure to keep my hair moisturized with a cream based moisturizer (i.e. Carol's daughter Hair Milk, Luster's pink oil) it took me about 10 hours collectively. I took breaks, talked on the phone, etc. thanks so much for the love & comments

  • Where are you and do you do this to other folks?

  • @Ebonyiis I'm in Charlotte, NC and i definitely do these for others.

  • Okay so I tried to do the yarn twist but when I get at the end they tend to unravel. Even with burning the ends they still unravel. I am twisting them tight. Is there like a certain direction you should twist? You hair is beautiful by the way.

  • @mrsdivachick i usually twist & wrap to the right. every few twist arounds I try to pull up on the braid towards the root to make it as tight as I can bear. as far as sealing is concerned, you may want to use one of the loose yarn pieces to make a small knot and then burn to seal. I hope that helped a little.

  • i love ur hairstyle wishing i could have u to do mine

  • @sexylips1983 if you were close to the Charlotte, NC area, I could definitely do it darlin!

  • lol i rock back and fourth when i do my hair too lol

  • @bebee10 it's therapeudic, isn't it? hehehe

  • @bebee10 i don't blame yall me 2 if u dont you will lose ur sanity cuz ur body hurts & it takes soooooo long when u do ur own

  • I have tons of non-wool yarn. Your hair looks great. You just gave me a new style idea once I finish my micros and take them down. Thanks for the tutorial. I just subscribed :D

  • @dreazhane WOOHOO!!! thanks for subscribing! I know you're gonna love 'em!

  • This video was very clear and well lighted. I'm going to be trying this look soon. Thanks for this tutorial

  • nice

  • well done! ;-)

  • I love it!!! That is sooooo PRETTY!!!

  • im gonna do this pretty soon!!! i love the way that it looks

  • thanks so much i didnt know you could twist your hair with the yarn : )

  • I cant believe thats yarn!!!

  • @shesobreezy i know, right... looks a lot like locs or natural hair.

  • I'm sure it wouldn't look TOO different, but have u tried this with 3 strand twist? And what kind of yarn did u use? I'm going to get my yarn tomorrow!!!!

  • Gurl i just had to Subscribe!! cuz i been tryna figure dis style out for the longest..cuz i found it in a hair book and kept askin around on how dey got the hair so neat lookin..little did i kno...Itz Yarn...!So anywayz.Thanx 4 postin the vid!!!!

  • Thx girl good video! How long do it take to do a whole head if you took no breaks you think & is tis easy to take down?

  • Loved this video!! About to start on mine :) Wish me luck!

  • best of luck! i know they'll turn out great :D

  • good job, and it was humourous! lol.

  • :D I'm such a goofball, I'm just glad you enjoyed it.

  • love your tutorial, just subscribed look forward to more videos

  • Thanks sooooo much!

  • OMG thats so clever! I like it on you!

  • did your hair come out from it

  • Considering you lose roughly 100 strands per day, I did "lose" hair, but my hair wasn't thinner than when I started. moisture, moisture, moisture is the key with these...

  • you did a great job they look very good..thanx for the tutorial.:)

  • :) my god-mother came up with that... and she even came up with a motto "chicken's not the only thing cooking in the kitchen" i think it's right catchy :)

  • I Can't see what you're doing at the very begining of the twist! O_O

    Love your hair!

  • I'll have to make another video on my manequin head and I can show you a little better how I begin the twist. thanks for the feedback :)

  • where did u get the yarn from is there a special type of yarn u need

  • I used Red Heart yarn, and I purchased it at Wal-mart! the larger spool is about 5 bucks and I generally use 1.5 to 2

  • Your hair looks nice.....

  • thanks a lot Ms Mary Mack, mack, mack... L)

  • I like the way your hair looks and I like how full it looks

  • thanks so much!

  • I dont know--or what- why? lol you made this look so easy- i tried it and my twist is so loose- i burned the ends and its like it just unravels...

  • When I do my video on my head, I'll make sure to explain how to make them looser and alternatives to sealing the ends

  • What is the cleaning process and how do the real hair hold up with the yarn?

  • I generally do a seabreeze scalp cleaning every few weeks and i try not to use too many oil based products. mostly cream based. the oils have a tendency to break down the fibers of the yarn.

  • do yarn twists break or make your hair dry?

  • the key is to keep your hair as moisturized as possible. i can't lie to you, the yarn will dry your hair out. moisture, moisture, moisture... that's the name of the game

  • Your twists are very nice! Thanks for the video! what type of yarn did you use and where did you buy it?

  • thanks! i used red heart and it's available at any craft store or at your friendly neighborhood wal-mart :)

  • you did a great job really neat ima try his on my daughters hair cheaper then kinky twist hair

  • thanks so much! let me know how they turn out!

  • I love your yarn twist tutorial. I was watching a yarn braid tutorial and I was wondering if it could be done with twists and I found you video. Your twists are so pretty as soon as I take down my braided mohawk I am going to try this style. Thanks for sharing.

  • gee, thanks! :) i think you'll enjoy them. let me know how they turn out!

  • That looks amazing. I've become more sensitive toward senthetic hair, and i wanted to try this. would braiding the twist and dipping them make them wavy? I like the wavy look that u get doing the same method with weave hair. thanks ^_^ and God bless u!

  • thank u kindly! if you braid/twist them tight enough, you can curl them with your fingers. i have yet to try dipping them on rods but it may be worth a try... let me know how they turn out!

  • well thanks again for the encouragement because i am trying to grow my hair out and i really think this process would work will show the finished result afterwords adn once again i must say it looks real good your a pro

  • I am SO glad I found your video. I wanted to do yarn braids but thought, wow my hair is too short to catch. I see its not. I have my yarn, I am READY TO TRY THIS!!!

  • enjoy them!!! try to post pics so i can see the end result.

  • your hair looks great! I did my first yarn braid last night but I braided mine. I will try to do the twist next. i was wondering if they would look good twisted and here you are showing how nice they look. They were very easy I have never braided my own hair and I found it very easy for my first time. i even got compliments on it!

  • thanks! they're quite easy to do. the yarn seems to cling to the hair a little better. make sure to keep them moisturized with some type of cream based product (i.e. carol's daughter hair milk). you want to try not to put oil on the yarn because it breaks down the fibers.

  • man that looks good im a guy tryin to grow out hair dont want to look like a girl but you think it would look good on men

  • i think so... but that's just one southern gals opinion. :)

  • Awesome Video. I think I am gonna do that.

  • Thanks! i think you'll love the versatility and the overall look of the twists.

  • LOL! I have a tendency to rock back and forth also. Nice video, love the braids!

  • lol! for some reason, it helps me braid/twist faster. WHO KNEW?!?! thanks for the love, too.

  • Quick question for you: I'm not the biggest fan of the pixie look so could you rod the ends and dip them in hot water? Also, could you have thicker twists using the same technique you're showing? I'm thinking about doing this type of twists instead of fluffy since I do crochet and I have many shades of yarn! lol Thanks for this video. I love the finished look.

  • 1. I don't see why you couldn't rod the ends. i've seen a few other tuts where people have done that technique. 2. you could definitely do the twists with more strands of yarn. i just did mine with two because of the length of my hair. I crochet, too, so i know all to well about lots, and lots of random balls of yarn :) i hope you enjoy ur twists whenever you do them.

  • ima guy and im in the process of growin my hair out do think i culd get away with this without it lookin 2feminine?

  • Personally, I don't see why not. they look realistic enough to me. it's a nice transitioning style.

  • too too tooooo cute!!!! i wish i could do my hair like that but i dont think i can connect it to the yarn at the beginning :( i have 0 weave braiding experience lol only natural hair braiding

  • it's not hard at all. you braid the yard just like you would regular braiding hair. the yarn grips better, to me.

  • you hair looks awesome and ur face is so pretty and happy lol

  • why thank you, times 2!

  • How encouraging for shorter hair ladies to be able to do a style like this!!! Your style is wonderful and looks really good pixied!!

  • why thank you. it's hard out here for the short-haired sisters :)

  • i am going to try this with my shoulder length hair

  • Ooooohhhh.... I know that's going to be gorgeous!

  • i rock back & forth AND walk around the house talking or whatever while doing my hair...lol a habit definitely

  • you wouldn't happen to be an only child, would you? lol!

  • no not the only child..just don't like stand in one place

  • Good Video! Thx!

  • you're more than welcome. I hope it helped a little.

  • Your hair looks great! Enjoyed the tut...we have the same tat on the same wrist...too funny...lol

  • Thanks so much! you're my kindred spirit, I guess. that's crazy!!! :D
