I believe that the "protest" what you do when someone does not like some of Pasolini's film is more associated with his tragic death.

For me it was absurd what happened to Pasolini, but that does not force me to "love" ALL movies he made.

I like some of Pasolini's films, but not all, people do not understand it.

What I said was: we have to separate masterpieces one side and garbage the other. I'm from brazil and I know clearly the difference between Glauber Rocha (with his spectacular Terra em Transe) and the stupid Fernando Meireles (with his City of God garbage! And his adaptation blindness dont know how Saramago authorized that). Different people, different tastes. What cannot happen is to considerate britney spears as important as billie holiday.

Sobre a Britney Spears eu concordo. Só ñ entendo pq fazem tanta polêmica qdo ñ gostam d algum filme do Pasolini.

Well,I can understand that geezer.I was a child when PPP was killed.I remember the sarcastic comments my bourgeoise family mae. PPP Films and written thoughts were labelled as "nonsense".PPP was not around tv or media in general.That attitude kept me away from PPPwork& I had to wait 'til '88 when I moved to uk to discover him. There at last PPP stuff was on tv, at cinemas and bookshops.Everybody is proud of PPP but bloody italians

Start by reading the Decameron of Boccaccio...I don't know if there is an English translation, but there must be one. After that see how Pasolini re-interprets this. Maybe watching Mamma Roma, Accattone and La Ricotta can help you in seeing what his perspective about society (and Italian particularly) was. Hope this helps and that you might be able to appreciate the enormity of his genius and humanity most of all!

Too crazy, no sense? How did you watch it, if you watched it? The film almost strict, rigourous in its telling all the episodes in it are clear, clean composing a beautiful artistic picture. Most of the actors are bodies and faces of the poor urban or countryside people in their pure (life)theater' s expression
