watchmen is an absolutly amazing movie. the way the characters are potrayed has nothing to do with those other lovey-dovey- we are superheroes lets save the world- hero movies. the soundtrack is well done and the whole concept of the movie is very thoughtful, but no movie i´d show a weak minded person it sometimes really gets to your core

I had zero interest in this movie when it first came out, because it looked pretty dorky. EPIC mistake. Just watched it On-Demand, and it is now right up there on my top twenty list of all-time great movies. ( I don't know which is better- Rorshach with his mask on or Rorshach without it- one of the best scenes is the prison psychiatrist showing him the ink-blot cards. Funny and disturbing at the same time.)

Watchmen is one of the few comic book (or graphic novel, whatever) to film transitions that are actually better than your average Hollywood film. While I'm not a fan of the genre, I loved this film and recommend it to anyone because of the strong characterisation and the most wonderful audiovisual presentation.

@jaguar11586 The characters and heroes were supposed to reflect real comic book heroes and villains. Nite Owl was based on Ted Kord's Blue Beetle, though he does have characteristics of Batman...if you mean only his suit.
The movie is not to much of a klisje like 99% of all the new movies are. And it has alot of good quotes in it too. And the story is good and complex. i dident find it hard to follow or confusing, but then again, I dident try to keep track of ALL of the superheroes, just the ones who where in it.
I know the one in the trailer is called The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning by The Smashing Punpkins and the song at the beginning of the movie is called These Times Are Changing or something like that. I hope I helped you out

Or, to put it in an intelligible manner, Watchmen was set during the middle of the cold war when the Americans and Soviets were at each other's throats. The comic and the film are meant to be more about society's reactions to the existence of superheroes during this extremely tense period.

I liked the movie, I didn't like the sudden soft porn in it .. well I did, but not the timing... (this'll sound gay) I was into the story really wanting to know what'd happen next and then a 5-10minute softporn suddenly kicks in >.>

This is definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. Some people hated it, but i think thats because they didnt understand the meaning of the whole story. My favorite part is in the beginning when Rorschach says "The world will look up and shout save us, and ill whisper No."

Watchmen is one of the few comic book (or graphic novel, whatever) to film transitions that are actually better than your average Hollywood film. While I'm not a fan of the genre, I loved this film and recommend it to anyone because of the strong characterisation and the most wonderful audiovisual presentation.

Yeah it's actually what i meant. it is Nite Owl's suit that just looks too much like Batman's suit. it's just weird how that was allowed to happen.But i guess since they are both DC comics, the only way one of them could get sued is by the artists.But i guess i'm really not complaining knowing that they didn't get sued. it's just a thought.

Yeah, see that's weird though. How can somebody be called Captain Marvel, if he's not in Marvel comics. So if he is DC comics,then how could his name be allowed without getting sued by Marvel Comics.

Captain Marvel was originally the property of Marvel Comics. The creators of Superman sued for Copyright infringement and won because Captain Marvel was basically a Superman ripoff. Thus, Captain Marvel became the property of DC Comics as part of the court judgment.

Captain Marvel was originally a character of Fawcett Comics. Billy Batson was the original Captain Marvel. DC comics sued Fawcett comics, and Captain Marvel was no longer produced. Late in the 1960's, Marvel created a character, Captain Mar-vell, a Kree, who became known as Captain Marvel.

Marvel comics still own the rights to the Captain Marvel name, but their Captain Marvel is not the original.

Yeah, honestly, i think Nite Owl looked like a rip off to Batman.I know that wasn't Captain Marvel, or Captain America at the beginning because both of them are from the Marvel universe,But seriously, who was that guy,and how was he even allowed to be created? Wasn't Captain America created before any other Captains?

So why was it even allowed to make Nite Owl kinda look like Batman? and why was it allowed to have a Captain hero look kinda like Captain America?Why didn't anybody get sued for that?

@jaguar11586 The characters and heroes were supposed to reflect real comic book heroes and villains. Nite Owl was based on Ted Kord's Blue Beetle, though he does have characteristics of Batman...if you mean only his suit.

The movie is not to much of a klisje like 99% of all the new movies are. And it has alot of good quotes in it too. And the story is good and complex. i dident find it hard to follow or confusing, but then again, I dident try to keep track of ALL of the superheroes, just the ones who where in it.

This movie sucks, one of most terrible movies ever made! Stopped watching the movie after 1,5 hour, i regret that i watched this far, was a waste of my time, I like fantasy movies, but this was weird, no action, no story, and there was no consistency in the movie. For people who haven't seen it, don't! you'll be disappointed like i am. I expected much more from the maker of 300

Or, to put it in an intelligible manner, Watchmen was set during the middle of the cold war when the Americans and Soviets were at each other's throats. The comic and the film are meant to be more about society's reactions to the existence of superheroes during this extremely tense period.
Simply put: It just wouldn't work today.

Now, hang on. Watchmen deserves the title of graphic novel because it is more than a kids book, but illustrated. And it's not some cheap joke book. I found the book to be challeging to my worldview, and heartbreaking, and a sheer work of genius, well written and brutal. Why don't you like it?
