in all these races you can notice his gate was twice as fast as the other horses and it was effortless, he was just an incredible strong horse, I have absolutely no doubt if it hadn't been for the injury he would have won the triple crown.

I pray that Barbaro's brothers will retire from horse racing w/o injuries. I cried for 3 days after the Preakness. Barbaro was very special. His brothers have big horse shoes to follow. Could we try praying before a horse race starts like in the big league human sports (football ect.)? The jockeys and the horses lives depend on what happens in a race?

He has 2 full younger brothers.

One is named Nicanor and he's a 2 year old who is also trained by Michael Matz (Barbaro's old trainer.)

The other is a yearling named Lentenor.

They are both adorable.

And to any idiot who thinks Barbaro lived a life of torture...go stick your head in a toilet. The Jacksons tried to hard to save this horse for so much more than money: he was an American hero, in a way.

I'm so certain we lost our 12th triple crown winner with this boy. He ran the fastest final quarter mile since Secretariat in the derby, and Edgar Prado didn't even use the whip.

That was AWESOME. He was a picture of perfection when he ran and now he is free to run forever without worry. I was so sure that he was going to make it and when I read the headline the morning he was euthanized it felt like I had been stabbed in the heart. I broke down and cried.
