This Asian Canadian man would do rexing in a funky movements + holding a leg up in the air above head !...serpentine crazy leg patterns...Didn't even know it was called 'rexing' until now (30 years later)
You can see rexing all over the country and all over the world even, still. USA Skate Center in Mishawaka, IN has loads of 40-somethings who were there during the big Roller Disco craze of the late 70's-early 80's and now bring their own kids (and some baby grandkids!), get out on the floor and shuffle skate and rex just like they did back in the day. It's still fun - and I'd recommend 50 Cent's In Da Club for the perfect beat to rex to.
How fun! This brought back great memories. I belonged to the Starlight Rexing Club in Bakersfield, back in the mid '70s. Sadly the rink burned down in the '80s. I haven't been on a pair of skates in ages but I still remember the styles, like the Two-Step and Double Rock. It was great!
It was nice to see some rexing on You Tube. But I remember seeing it regularly done here in San Diego at the long-gone Palaisade Gardens rink on University Avenue as early as during my early 1960s high school days. There was group of advocates called The Rebel Rexers, I believe who wore Confederate flags on the back of their jackets.
The Rebel Rexers were around in the 70's and 80's while I skated too. I skated at Palisades from 1974 - 1976 but didn't know how to rex at that time. It was still a lot of fun...it seems so long ago now...and Palisades Gardens was torn down many years ago.

I've been doing this for years without realizing it had a name... Rexing is why I never caught on with rollerblades.
